Please let us know if you've read, are reading or are planning to read The Last Stormlord by Glenda Larke, and any first impressions.

No spoilers in this topic please!

I finished it a few months ago. Here's my (spoiler-free) review.

Kerry (rocalisa) | 487 comments I'm just over halfway and I'm enjoying it. I find I'm reading it in small bites often, mostly because I'm very engaged with the characters and very worried about them (I read the blurb for book 2 which didn't help and I think I spoiled myself a bit). But I'm liking it.

Out of curiosity, can someone who has the paperbook give me an idea of how fat it is? I'm reading the ebook so I don't know, but Goodreads seem to be saying it's nearly 700 pages, which is more than I expected.

Janny (jannywurts) | 1006 comments Kerry - my paperback is 692 pages.

Kerry (rocalisa) | 487 comments Thanks Janny. I'm doing well then as it's a much bigger book than I imagined.

message 9: by Reginac1 (new)

Reginac1 | 5 comments I read it on my Ipod and didn't notice the length, I just zoomed through it! Can't wait for the next one to come out, though I note it's being sold in Australia and am trying to figure out how to finagle a copy from there....

The second book is due out in the US on August 1st.

message 11: by Kerry (new)

Kerry (rocalisa) | 487 comments I finished today and really enjoyed the book. I'm certainly going to get book 2 when it comes out.

I'm trying to figure out what I want to say about it, so I hope someone will have some discussion points for here or over on the spoiler topic.

Melissa Hayden (melhay) | 20 comments I read this one a few months ago. I loved it! I love the originality of the world and the water abilities. Well, the characters really stuck with me too.

Melissa Hayden (melhay) | 20 comments Well, I have to say I loved this whole world setup. I like the way the world is layered and detailed. The map really helped me with the whole world in general.

The creation of the different cultures and the separation of them. I enjoyed learning the different ways of lives. And there is much more to learn of another corner as well.

The different "magic" or abilities with the water. This was nicely done and all the connections are there to make me believe them.

Kelly Flanagan | 23 comments About to start it.Had the library hold it for me when it was first chosen to read. For some reason I haven't started it, but I have no excuses now. :P

message 15: by Christine (new)

Christine (chrisarrow) I actually thought it was a bit funny that there was an article in the Sunday New York Times about water in Austraila while we'll reading this book.

Amelia (narknon) I just ordered this from Amazon. It may be a while before I get to it because I'm hooked on the Wars of Light and Shadow series.
