Marie | 10 comments Don't read this post if you haven't read the study/glass series. May contain a few 'spoilers'.

I know you've said previously elsewhere you're interested in the future about maybe writing about the Commander and Valek in a prequel to Poison Study.

I know Spy Glass isn't out yet and and as you've said you have recently been asked to write a YA steampunk romance.

I'm wondering what does this mean for the future of Sitia/Ixia? There are so many clans that haven't been explored or that the readers have only glimpsed on the surface. Also since the Study series we haven't seen much more of Ixia leaving so much of Ixia to be explored.

Do you think in the future you'll ever follow a new character's adventures in Sitia/Ixia or even an old or side characters story?

I know I for one would be interested in following the adventures of someone new on their way to being a Master Magician since in sea glass there is only two left by the end, or a Warper since Devlen hinted there are still others, or perhaps the newest Sandseed Story Weaver since most of them are gone and they are waiting for a young one to show potential.

I really love the rich and colorful world you've created, and I especially love the Storm Dancers clan. I hope more people find out about your wonderful books so you can continue to write them.

Marie | 10 comments Got some views but no replies yet. I'm interested in knowing what other fans of the study/glass series are interested in seeing/learning more about.

As I've already said I'd love to see a new master magician and maybe a new Sandseed Story Weaver around Yelena or Opal's age.

Of course Spy Glass isn't out yet and we don't know what will become of some of the characters but assuming they are still around i'd love to see more of Devlen and maybe see him find love since I have a feeling Opal will stay with Kade.

I would also love to see more of the Storm Dancer clan and maybe see some new Storm Dancer's in training. I can't remember the name of the girl who is in Sea Glass to be trained but she seemed like an interesting character.

I have so many more thoughts but i'd love to hear others get involved in this discussion. What would you like to see or what are you curious about?

Britt, Book Habitue (britt--bookhabitue) | 12 comments I think I'm waiting for Spy Glass before really thinking too much about it. lol

One thing I am a big believer in, though, is not trying to force more books if you don't have another story to tell! NOTHING ruins a great premise/world/set of characters faster than forcing additional books.

So as much as I'd love more books with Yelena or Opal or Valek etc, I only want them if Maria feels like there's more to tell and she wants to write it, you know?

More about the Storm Dancers would be cool though. :)

Marie | 10 comments Well obviously no one can force Maria to write more books. She's the author and it's up to her if she feels there is more to tell or not.

This is simply asking her if she feels like there is more to tell as well and asking if she thinks she will ever return to that world.

Also just curious to see what other fans are interested in knowing or seeing in future books even if they are never seen.

Nice to know someone else likes the Storm Dancers too though! I feel in love with the Storm Dancer clan in the first two Glass books.

Britt, Book Habitue (britt--bookhabitue) | 12 comments Oh I know, and I don't think Maria would let the pressure from fans or whatever get to her, but you know what I mean about forcing it when there's nothing more there? You see it in books that do really well and so there's a feeling of "let's ride this wave!" instead of just letting the first book be great. You see it alot in movies too.

I know it wasn't what you meant. Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine.

I also wouldn't mind heading back to Ixia for a few more books... Maybe something about the power twins? :)

Marie | 10 comments Hehe it's ok no offense taken! Just wanted to make sure you knew wasn't trying to pressure Maria or anything.

I know exactly what you mean. It's true that sometimes there can be too much of something good. I really love asian dramas vs most american tv shows because they are short and sweet. Really good storyline and usually end with only 1 season between 16-24 episodes.

Aw, Ari and Janco. I love them so much. I def could see some stuff going on in Ixia involving them and maybe Valek and Maren.

It would be interesting to see Maren hook up with either Ari or Janco or see Ari or Janco end up with a sitian considering their dislike of magic.

Britt, Book Habitue (britt--bookhabitue) | 12 comments Ooooh, Maren. I had forgotten about Maren...

Clearly I need to reread the Study books!

Marie | 10 comments Maren is a very interesting character. Don't feel bad about forgetting her I just finished the glass books and already forgot the name of that storm dancer trainee.

Both interesting characters i'd love to know more about.

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 67 comments The Commander is a fascinating character, definitely someone I'd love to learn more about .

Sarah | 13 comments I agree with you about the Commander, Kimberly, most definitely. Although I can't decide which I would like more: a prequel, detailing Ambrosia's evolution into the Commander (complete with Valek, of course), or a story in the current timeline where he plays a starring role, if not THE starring role. Opinions?

message 11: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 67 comments Hmmm... I want to say both of course, but I think learning about the Commander after having met Yelena would be the most interesting. I'd like to know what he thinks of her.

Maria V. Snyder (maria_v_snyder) | 186 comments Hello,

Sorry I missed this before - too much to do and so little time!

I'd like to return to Ixia and Sitia and have lots of potential characters I'd like to explore: Valek and the Commander pre takeover would be fun (I've discussed this with my editor and she feels it wouldn't be as fun without a romance...I could include other new characters who have a romance...I'm still thinking about this one :)

I'd like to explore more with Fisk and his helpers guild and two new characters from Spy Glass a brother and sister (you'll see :)

I'd also like to explore more with Heli - the young Stormdancer and her powers. And Quinn - the young Bloodrose magician.

The YA Steampunk is just a short story - something I like to do because it presents a challenge and isn't as time comsuming as a novel.

After Outside In, I'm set to write another fantasy about a healer in a world that is recovering from a plague. I like to dabble in different worlds to keep things fresh and interesting :)

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) All sounds interesting Maria. Thanks for the update. Personally I'd love the prequel with Valik and the commander, even without a romance.

Marie | 10 comments Thanks for the reply Maria! I agree with Briansgirl, even if it didn't have a romance i'd def pick up a copy of the book just the same because Valek and the Commander are such interesting characters.

I never even thought about Fisk, though he is much older now and learning more about him and his guild would be fun. Would also love to see more about Heli and Quinn. The cult like environment Quinn was living in seemed very intriguing.

I still need to read Inside out but I can't wait for Spy Glass to come out in September. If you keep coming out with such great books at such a rapid pace my spot for you on my bookshelf will soon be overflowing with all your work.

Once again thanks for the update and have fun on your trip!

Heather | 23 comments I think what everyone else has said so far, I do like Valek and the Commander and honestly sometimes too much romance can ruin the story for me, so I would definitely give it a read. I would also like to know more about Zitora(sorry for my spelling). Especially since she left as a Master Magician to find her sister.
