Well I must admit we personally don't have shrimp, but I know many who do. We generally have a few roasts & salads. Cooked outside of course. LOL. All yummy!!!!

I'm living in northern Sweden right now, where I was also born. I have no idea where I want to retire actually, though I do love England.
Born: Southern CaliforniaRaised: Southern Arizona
(Desert rat: from one desert to another!)
Spent SEVERAL years in Ohio/Kentucky/West Virginia Tri-State area, lived in all three (SNOW!!!)
Currently: North East Florida
Retire to balmy deserted (NOT desert) island with Wi-Fi and ereader...yeah, right!
I live in North Carolina.I was born in Hawthorne, California.
I'd like to retire to Scotland or Ireland. Both of them are full of hot, muscular men with claymores. Grrr.
** Where are you living now? Sydney, Australia** Where are you originally from? Sydney, Australia
** Where would you like to retire to? Hmm, I am going to sound so boring but will more than likely still be where I am living now which is close to the beach & city attractions.
Yay! A fellow Sydneysider!Totally understand not wanting to move anywhere else to retire. *dancing happy dance*
I was born in the Bay Area, CAStill living in the Bay Area (Go SF Giants!)
And my fantasy retirement location would be split between Hawaii and Lake Tahoe (best of both worlds).
I currently live in Hollywood, MD.I'm originally from Phitsanulok, Thailand.
In my dream, would love to retire (with my Jamie Fraser) in Scotland. But in reality, not a clue. Wherever my son will be, I guess.
Welcome, Wan & Lily!I've been to Thailand several times, Wan. But, only Bangkok and Phuket. Had a wonderful time @ both. The Thai people are some of the friendliest I've ever met.
Lily, I'd LOVE to go to Portugal! Maybe one day ...

Thanks Steph.
This is super cool. We probably have every time zones here. No matter how late I'm on-line. I know I'll always have someone with me.
Born: Massachusetts, USACurrently: Georgia, USA
Hope to retire to: Florida
Love to travel, so I'm pretty much happy wherever I am. As long as it's not snowing ...
Born: Grand Rapids, MichiganCurrently: Grand Rapids, Mi (But on vacation in Daytona Beach, Florida at the time of this posting!)
Hope to retire: A tropical island...or at least southern Florida (on the Gulf).
We thought it would be tropical in Florida, but it's not even 40 degrees today! I left my winter coat in Michigan!
LOL! I'm having a similar shock here in Okinawa. Tropical island, summer was blazin' hot with humidity as high as VA, I'm thinkin', "I will never need a jumper or sweater here!". Then, it got cold. Well, cool. I'm from VA, so I have a hard time saying that temps in the 50s are cold, but I've acclimatized to the temps here and right now, that's cold for me. LOL!
Brilliant sunshine here today, blue skies, 25C. Perfect! Mind you up north & in Qld they've got flooding - I mean evacuate towns flooding & over in Perth they're worried about bushfires.
But here its just perfect.
Enjoy! I do vaguely remember when the temp tables were turned. LOL! :( Sorry to hear about the flooding and fires in Oz.
I live in the UK in Hampshire (Hour train ride to London)I used to live in Chester in the UK
Not sure where i want to retire ..as long as I get to retire at all is a blessing hehe
Steph wrote: "I'd love to go to Madrid! Where in the US are headin'?"I still don't know, it depends on which university is accepting my application.
Kristen wrote: "We thought it would be tropical in Florida, but it's not even 40 degrees today! I left my winter coat in Michigan!"I'm back in frigid Michigan. Wow...I wish I was back in Florida. The "lake effect" snow is in full gear. If you don't know what lake effect snow is, be VERY happy! I'd take 40 degrees in Florida any day.
Hey, I get to add a state LOLI live in the State of OH. I live on the border of OH, WV and KY, the most southern tip (Yes, Virgina, Ohio does go south past Cincinnnati).
Happily married, two adult children, three grandkids, three dogs, and am going to college working on my Masters at present (Psychology)
Have always lived in my home state although my parents liked to travel and have been to almost every state on the Eastern side of the nation.
Hope someday to visit lots of other countries, Ireland especially as I have relatives there; Egypt, and Greece are two I really hope to see.
If I could live anywhere I wanted it would be where the temperature is never above 75 or below 60 and there are LOTS and LOTS of hills.
Have to have my hills or I feel lost. How people can live where it is flat totally confuses me (but I am sure they feel the same way about me, if they drive the kiss your ass curves here).
Good luck with school, Jlyates. I'm looking into working on my online schooling here soon. Wish that money tree I planted would produce! LOL!I'm also a lover of hills. I would never be able to live in the flat lands. Nice to visit, but prefer to see mountains in the distance. :)
Currently living in San Jose, CA (Hello to Bay Area's Amanda!)Originally from Camp Hill, PA (Pennsylvania Dutch at heart)
Want to retire wherever my daughters and my (future) grandchildren live. (Probably right here in San Jose.)
Since I've joined so many challenges already, I'll go ahead and peep in and announce I'm from Arkansas. I was born in New Mexico, grew up in Texas and Arkansas and I'm not sure where I'll retire since that's at least 35 years in the future and who knows who (or if) I'll marry. He may want to retire somewhere specific, but me... I don't care right now. LOL
I am currently in Eastern North CarolinaI was born here as well
As for retirement, I see white sandy beaches in my future!
Hello! I'm living in New Orleans. Grew up here, and love it more than I can describe. I love traveling and seeing other cities, but no place is home like Nola. I definitely see myself retiring here.
I'm currently in Fayetteville, AR going to school. I'm technically originally from Little Rock, AR, but my family moved to Fort Smith when I was going into fourth grade, so I consider that my home. I would love to retire to London, but Boston would be my choice in the US.
