Living in beautiful Massachusetts, anticipating the snow to come with dread. New to the group and crazy about urban fantasy and paranormal romance, also lived the dream of publishing something!

Hi y'all!I've ended up in KY, USA. They're all about horses and opinions here.
I'm originally from southern MS where you can smell the saltwater. The land of hurricanes and hospitality where everything can be solved with a good meal...haha!
My husband and I have traveled all over the US and lived on every coast here. We hope to retire on the Pacific coast...Oregon, maybe?
Oregon is beautiful. We're having a hard time picking a place to retire, so we're tooling around the US in our RV instead - exploring it all. :)

Hey all. UK contingent here... moved from the beautiful south-west coast (via London in all it's "glory") with it's gorgeous sandy beaches to the less gorgeous the south-east coast where the beach is all pebbles! Anyhow, I've always been interested in the people of the north where the accents are warmer, but alas the weather isn't so I don't see that ever happening!!!
Welcome, HereKittyKitty!Holly wrote: "Oh, that sounds like heaven. Enjoy the road for those of us that can't currently be on it!!"
It is, mostly, but has downsides, like everything. Will do!

Yeah, I"m pretty stupid sometimes..haha!"
LOL!
I live in Florida. I was born in Kentucky but my dad was in the army so we moved around. I would like to retire in a state that has all 4 seasons.haha
I live in Ohio, along the river where it connects to KY and WV. I married me a hillbilly, LOL I tease him about it, but he is from WV but we live in OH. Foothills of the Appalachian Mt. Lived here all my life, and would love to move somewhere where it is warm. Our son wants somewhere where it is cold. Hubby doesn't like change, so he wants to stay here. He will win, we really can't afford to move, even if I could talk him into it.
He is retired, was injured at work so retired early, We are both now on Social Security and his retirement pension, which has surprisingly given us more income than when he was working. Daughter is in TN, son is with us, disabled, and we have our two dogs, Ash is the monster (a Wemie don't know how to spell the name, Grey Ghost is nick name for breed) and the furball mixed breed who is Wendy and is 10 inches to his 27 and 12 lbs to his 75 and she bosses him around.

Where are you living now?I'm now living in Virginia (Northern Virginia, near D.C.)
Where are you originally from?
Hmmm. Well, I'm an Army brat, so I've lived a lot of places, including Virginia, Germany, New York City, Pennsylvania and Minnesota, for the highlights.
Where would you like to retire to?
I'm really not sure. That seems really far in the future.
Cool! My aunt and uncle lived in Richmond, VA for years. One of my cousins is still there. Nice city!
I'm presently retired, and tied by health, in the temperate, sometimes flooded, often (very often of late) drought-ridden, inland Southern California valley city of Claremont. My original home of six years is buried nearby under landfill in a housing development called Towne Ranch. I lived there when it was a little house in a big orange grove. After a stint a couple of miles away on the edge of the city proper, I then enlisted and saw service in San Antonio, Biloxi, San Angelo, and then Bremerhaven, Germany and Brendisi, Italy, the extent of my "World Travels". After returning to the Pomona valley for a few years, Maried , Moved to Missouri, raised 7 kids, divorced, and then returned to the house I mostly grew up in, Now living with my Sister... our house is nearly as old as I am...

We may be flooding now, but that's causing mudslides... the rest of the time it's been way too dry (ergo, the forest fires)... the water table would require years to recover. it is way low. Climate is changing, you know...
Steph wrote: "My hubby and I are both from VA (Richmond). 😊"I must have missed this post along the way. I went to VCU. I lived in the Fan District in the late 70s/early 80s when it was a scary place!
We love walking around the Fan. My SIL lived there during college years. It’s changed quite a bit since you were there.

Thank Sandra!! I'm so happy I found this group :-)It's not just warmer. It bloody hot as hell there. Especially in the summer. August in particular. But at least it's mostly a dry heat, and the ocean is nearby. But I tend to go up North to the mountains. It's still hot there, but I love it. It's my other home and I have a lot of family there.
