Enjoy!"
I need to make a trip to the liquor store, but you can bet I will. And I know what to do with my leftover Brie from Christmas now too. *g*

But that would be so funny :) On the re-read I want to take notes, lol
I enjoyed everytime poor Miss Butterwith's name was mispelled. And the Clue/Cluedo reference cracked me up, it's the game we usually play in our Christmas afternoon. How did you come up with that? I couldn't stop laughing. Thank you!
But that would be so funny :)
It would. I also think it would be funny for Kit to run into a real life Miss Butterwith. :-D

That would be the best! Just like Kit reading Adrien English books. :-)

Usually I always find out who the killer is in the middle of reading a book, but this time I've failed. I could never imagine the story taking this turn and the excitement increased since the poisoning scene
and last but not the least- the love making was really hot. Kit and J.X r one of my fav m/m couples now ^__^
Reading ALL SHE WROTE really made my day :D

Thank so much, Lora. Yes, there will be more H&M books. Glad you enjoy Kit -- I have a lot of fun writing him.

Excellent! Can't wait to read what trouble you come up with for those two :o)

Yeah, that's just basic mystery dynamic stuff -- it's not like I invented it!

This lead me to thinking, how bloody awesome it would be for a cross-over! How do you think Kit and Adrien would act meeting one another? I have a feeling Kit might be a little grumbly about mr.Stone-cold-fox Adrien. But they'd get along with that Dark humour they both posses.
However, I think the funniest outcome would be Jake and J.X - I can just see them sitting down for Tea and scones talking about their frustrating other halves trying to solve crimes with annoying accuracy.
Anyway, its been on my mind for a couple days, just wondered if anyone else ever thought of it?
(Another guilty-pleasure of a cross over for me would be Strange and Lyn Flewellings' Seregil pre-Alex and Grimshaw. I imagine they're be bitter card rivals.)

I also fangirled majorly.
I would also love to see a crossover

I, I did think about it too! I thought of a massive Holmes/Moriarity+Jake/Adrien+Sean/Dan crossover. Like... A book by Kit (or J.X.) gets made into a movie and Sean is supposed to play in it and they all meet at Adrien's shop for signing and promotion and then something weird happens and they hire Jake to investigate. I'd throw in a couple of misunderstandings and jealousy scenes.

Finished All She Wrote!
I think it's one of the best books I've read so far by Josh (I haven't read all of them yet though), and it's now definitely one of my favorite series. I had major withdrawals after finishing it and couldn't touch any other book for 3 days.
Kit is my favorite kind of protagonist - a screwed up one (even though his screwiness is mostly in his head for he has money, looks and a great guy in love with him, so he really doesn't have a reason for depression). His preoccupation with his midlife crisis makes him a very vivid and realistic character. I'm not sure if I would have liked him as a person - he seems too worked up to be a very pleasant company, but as a character he's fascinating. As opposite to J.X. I'd really love to have a friend like him in RL because he's so perfect. And I really really like his body and facial hair *starry eyes*. (In AE series it was opposite - I liked Jake more than Adrien, and not only because his looks, but because he had his faults while Adrien was perfect and thus less appealing as a character for me - doesn't mean I didn't LOVE him though). I'm probably not being fair toward Kit - we see his inner self in the book which may not be very pleasant, but he's very good with people around him, very patient.
The mystery factor was also very good even though I majorly spoiled it to myself by actually sitting and thinking about possible outcome, so I came to the same results as Kit too early. But I WAS surprised by the way Kit and J.X. dealt with it after finding the culprit XD.
Question to Josh. I couldn't help noticing Poppy's resemblance to a certain writer. All the not-for-the-faint-of-heart stuff she writes, and the name... It's kind of hard to miss :) I know, the disclaimer says "Any resemblance is coincidental.." but... is it?
Josh, thank you so much for writing ASW! Can't wait for the next Holmes/Moriarity book :)

Finished my second reading, finally, early this morning and still felt the same way about both story and characters. To me this is a great mystery novel with brilliant characterisation.
I absolutely adore both Christopher (seems weird to call him Kit) and J.X. From the first moment I was dragged, and though there was a bit in the middle where I felt uncomfortable, I could barely stop reading (apart from falling asleep and having too much to do and too many visitors to be able to actually read it in one go)
Oh, and that last line *ROFL*
I couldn't help but think you wrote the story just for that last line, Josh ;)
I more detailed review can be found on my profile page ... for those interested.

It would be tricky because I write them both from first person POV. I'd have to go third on that one, although I'm thinking of different amusing (to me, anyway) scenarios.

If it was, it was subconscious. I'm a big, big fan of that New Orleans cooking series of hers.
I do have a habit of grabbing names from whatever is around me -- I think it has a kind of creative synchronicity.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. That one's on my personal top five list.
The challenge with ASW is that the further you delve into the characters and their relationship -- well, you have decide if you're going to continue to go for laughs or you're going to sacrifice some of the funny for genuine emotion.
I'm finding it a delicate balance. I want the series to be funny, definitely, but I want it to have real heart too.
And I also want to continue exploring and satirizing writing, mysteries, and publishing. ;-)

Heather C wrote: "Has Josh written anything paranormal"
Heather, I've written two spec fiction (fantasy) novels -- Strange Fortune and The Darkling Thrush.
I wrote one historical novella with mystery and paranormal elements -- that's The Dark Farewell.
And then the Petit Morts series with Jordan Castillo Price has a paranormal or spec fiction element to it. Those are all short stories.

I think it could be amusing if you went for a completely different POV instead, say like Jake? Or Rachael Someone who can be watching the antics. I know it'll probably never come to pass. But it would be an amusing mini-story. XD
I could imagine Rachael Dragging Kit to a convention only to see one of them mini-fanboy. If anything, its really really fun to think about. (Tea and Scones! Tea and Scones!)

Julian was a great character. He was fragile because of his illness, but he had a very strong core.
I think it's your only book where we don't really get to know the narrator, it was as if he blocked the reader out.

Ghost of a Chance kinda fits too

I will be sure to move those up in my list.
I read Dangerous Ground last night and really enjoyed it. I must say that its been awhile since I've read M/M written in 3rd person POV and had forgotten how confusing all the "he"s can be. Lol. But I liked getting both characters perspective, too. I really liked how it started right in the middle of Taylor and Willl's conflict and I was given only bits and pieces of their past at a time. I can't wait to see wear their next adventure takes them.
Thanks, Josh. You are awesome storyteller!!
Look at that! I think I might have written a review!! Well, my kind of review anyway.

What I like about that book (it's not one of my favorites, to be honest) is that it really does feel like a story from the era (I think).
I may have unconsciously done that with David's character -- stories of that period and genre often do have a removed quality, and the narrators seem inaccessible.

Seriously! No wonder TDWL reads like a alcoholic blur. :-D You know, I basically make everything "to taste" so while I CAN follow a recipe, I rarely do.
Then again I rarely cook, so...
