Rebecca (RebeccaForrest) | 16 comments I'm looking for a children's book that is along the lines of a Golden book, although I don't think it was one of those. I believe it's in verse. It's the story of three mice (two sisters and their brother) named Matilda, McElroy, and Mary. It had great illustrations. I remember one picture of the three of them playing catch.

I knew this book in the 1950s, so it's at least that old.

I hope you can help!

Rebecca (RebeccaForrest) | 16 comments Yes, Kaion, I have googled it many times over the years, always with no result at all. I'm delighted that you found it:

Matilda, MacElroy and Mary by Jessie Home Fairweather

Thanks very much!

Thank you, Rivka!

Kevyn I doubt that this would have shown up within the first few pages of a Google search if somebody else hadn't just commented last week on a 2005 GoldenBook.com thread where the name had been spelled "McElroy" instead of "Mac"

It is amazing what a difference just ONE week can make!

Kaion (kaionvin) | 388 comments Not if you include "mice". But willing to concede formula movement.
