oh great. now my story seems all cliché. DARNIT!!!! WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME?!

message 207: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) It's not. Great minds think alike. It has a great plot and yours is a lot different than hers. Cliche stuff is what happens when you write about a faerie princess getting saved by a Prince Charming who has to fight off a dragon. The End.
Yours is NOT cliche.

ugh my stories are always similar to someone author's plot, and i try for it not to be! :(

but brigid, yours isn't cliche, at all!! reborn is really unique!! :D

Hopefully with NANOWRIMO, i can get out of the habit of being so close to other people's stories. it bugs me to death.

message 213: by Sella, ov vey! i haven't checked this group in months. >< (new)

Sella Malin | 4530 comments Mod
i know, brigid, it bothers me too! :(

and i'm kind of worried...because my nanowrimo story is a bit like twilight, and i tried for it not to be, but it just turned out that way! :(

message 214: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
my nanowrimo story is probably going to be like a cross between uglies and the host. lol.

Mine's going to have a bit of Maximum Ride in it. Unfortunately, that's where i got the idea.

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
i <3 maximum ride!!! XD

message 219: by [deleted user] (new)

lol
me too! "D

message 220: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments Did you read the first two chapters of the fifth maximum ride book yet? If you go to a bookstore they've come out with the edition of the fourth book that contains the beginning of the fifth! It's good, of course.

message 221: by [deleted user] (new)

yeah, unfortunately i've got a hunch he's going to try and save the penguins because Global Warming apparently to him, exists.
ug, i'm gonna have to read it anyway.
I want to know if something's going to happen to Fang . . .

message 222: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments Yeah, I gotta read it too. He'd better just have Max and Fang get together already, he's drawn it out long enough. I hate that he's turned the books to Global Warming, it shtinks.

message 223: by [deleted user] (new)

i know!
The first and second were the best i think.

message 224: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments I agree! Before everything started going weird.

message 225: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
wait what? something's going to happen to Fang? i'll kill myself. XD lol.
yeah i know seriously. max & fang, you guyz are getting annoying at this point. JUST ADMIT THAT YOU LIKE EACH OTHER ALREADY -- GOSH IT'S SO OBVIOUS!!!!!!!
and pleez james patterson ... stop w/the global warming crap. it's getting on my nerves.

message 226: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
i agree; first two were amazing. third one was weird. fourth one was a piece of crap.

message 227: by [deleted user] (new)

YEAH EXACTLY!!
Max just needs to realize her inner feelings towards Fang, and someone needs to knock some sense into the characters and James Patterson that GLOBAL WARMING IS A SCAM!!!

message 228: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments I so agree!

message 229: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
:P well i don't deny that global warming exists; i just don't want MAXIMUM RIDE preaching to me about it, for crying out loud!

message 230: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol

message 231: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) and putting global warming into a story about mutant bird-kids is just a bit ridiculous.

message 232: by Sella, ov vey! i haven't checked this group in months. >< (new)

Sella Malin | 4530 comments Mod
seriously, cali? you don't think global warming is real?

have you seen the movie "an inconvenient truth?" that is mainly what convinced me that there is no way global warming ISN'T a fact.

message 233: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments I don't think it's real either. I believe that the earth just goes through different stages of extreme heat and cold weather.

message 234: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) I believe in global warming simply because it makes sense. I had to move out of my home, and the only place I've ever truly loved, Mississippi because of Katrina. And I doubt that that was just an ordinary hurricane. And it's progressing! Either we need to stop it or make preparations for it.
And then my mom bought me a book about global warming, and that's what convinced me the rest of the way.
BUT I think James Patterson may have put it into his book to make it more widely known.
But, couldn't he write a new book? Where people save the world from Global Warming?
I don't think it's appropriate that he puts that into a thriller.

message 235: by [deleted user] (new)

A hurricane like Katrina happens like every fifty years. Maybe even longer, i know a lot of people lost their lives, and their homes, and loved ones, but just because of a Hurricane, Global Warming exists?
About 30 years ago, they were saying we were going into an ice age, now they're saying that we're having global warming. I'll bet you guys anything that in 30 years, scientists will be saying that there will be an ice age. It's just certain stages of the earth.

message 236: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments *claps for Cali* I agree. The Earth is just going through a heating stage. In a few years or so (I guess) the Earth will reverse the stage and start cooling down again. A hurricane is not evidence of Global Warming.
I don't trust most of the stuff scientists say. Like evolution, and that the Earth is 6.4 billion years old.
I believe the Earth is only a few thousand years old.
Did you know that the stuff they used to date the Earths age was also used to date Mt. St. Helens erruption? According to the data they collected Mt. St. Hellens errupted around a billion years ago.

message 237: by [deleted user] (new)

most scientists stuff are just theories. Most aren't even true.

message 238: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) I don't know. A lot of the stuff makes sense.

message 239: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't believe in Evolution for one thing . . . who came up with that???

message 240: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) Well, it has a few good stuff to back it up. But, maybe we should change the subject before we go into full debate. XD

message 241: by [deleted user] (new)

lol, yeah.
We've all got opinions.

Anyone got a new story out there?

message 242: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
i'm sorry but i don't understand how ppl can deny the existence of global warming ... or evolution ...

whatever just stating my opinion. what is this topic supposed to be about again? XD

Riley (booksarecool) lol.

message 246: by Sella, ov vey! i haven't checked this group in months. >< (new)

Sella Malin | 4530 comments Mod
I'm with you Brigid.

Cali, the fact is that, according to scientific charts, the earth is now hotter than it's EVER been. WAY hotter. It's definitely not one of the regular stages...have you seen one of those charts? I have and I'm amazed. They compare the temperature of this past year or two, with the temperatures of different heat stages in the past, and it's skyrocketing WAY higher- in the thousands.

I think you should watch an Inconvenient Truth, even if you deny global warming. That, along with studies in school, convinced me. You should watch it, even if you don't think it will do anything.

And this might be a bit of a personal question, but Cali, if you don't believe in evolution, then how do you think we got here? (You don't have to answer if you don't want to.)

message 247: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments Sorry guys, but I don't agree with evolution either. I don't believe it exists.

Global Warming either. Like I said before, it's just a stage the Earth is going through, it'll get to a certain temperature and then the tables will reverse and the Earth will cool down.

message 248: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) I believe in evolution. And global warming. They just make sense.

message 249: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments Evolution makes sense?! And Global Warming?! I'm sorry but I do not agree.

message 250: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
Why not? Okay, I understand how evolution goes against people's religions, and I don't want to get into that. Although evolution has been proved a lot of times; and it still has to be referred to as a "theory" just bcuz it offends ppl, which I don't really think is fair ... but I guess it's the best we can do.

But seriously, if you think global warming is a myth, you are totally in denial. I'm sorry, but it can't be denied. The Earth has been getting warmer and warmer for a long time -- AND IT'S NOT COOLING DOWN the way it has in past periods of climate change. This isn't just a temporary phase. The temperature is rising at an insanely high rate, and it's not natural. You can go on thinking it's one of earth's "phases", but when we all get killed by radiation and all, you might just change your mind.

And evolution and global warming totally make sense; I agree w/Riley. Evolution makes sense because ... well ... how else did we get here? And I don't believe in God or the whole Adam & Eve story, so it's the only logical explanation for me. As for global warming -- as I've said, it simply can't be ignored anymore. In it's earlier stages, it was okay for people to deny its existence. But now? I think it's kind of ridiculous that people still think it's a "myth". Sorry, that's just my opinion.

Okay ... yeah so now I think I'm done ranting and I don't want anyone to take anything I said personally ... just wanted to voice my opinion. Didn't mean to offend anybody.

Wow ... that was long. O.O
