Jujubees2bee | 1 comments I am attempting to find a book I read when I was around 20 - I'm not sure how old it is. I'm positive it was a Harliquin.
The hero is a matador with a scar on his face - and the heroine comes under his care for some reason (I cannot remember) - he doesn't think any woman would like him. Has anyone else read a book like this and might know the name? I want to buy this book if I can find it!

Thanks so much!

Cathy Norfin | 56 comments HELP... can anyone remember this old vintage? I read it years back and I know it is harlequin - however, I cannot remember the name of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

The part I remember: The H is a bullfighter in Spain who owns land with farms etc -

(this part is fuzzy...so i might be wrong... but I think the h is a babysitter/nanny of some sort. the childrens mother sends the heroine to visit the H on his farm to deliver a message)

somehow - when heroine arrives at his house.. she greets a woman whom she thinks is his girlfriend, but this girl ends up being family.. but this "supposed girlfriend" is in process of leaving when the h arrives..

fast forward - the H falls head over heals for the h and states she is to stay and get married. he makes her watch a bullfight .. but H is determined to keep her on his land and claims they are to be married..
can anyone remember this?
thanks for all your help

Anna Goerlitz | 22 comments I am looking for an old one. I think I read it, when I was in my teens"0, maybe 15 or 16. So 20+ years ago. I remeber it quite vividly as I think it was the first time I read a romance where the H wasn't a millionaire or a doctor or businessman. He was a truck driver!

H is a truckdriver, he picks up h on a sideroad, thinking she is a runaway teen. She is in labour. He delivers the baby and take them both home. Baby sleeps in a drawer from his dresser, with one of his sweaters as a blanket. He lets them stay and he goes back on the road. Baby wont stop crying until he comes back home.

She is on the run from abusive older ex. Ex won her in a poker game from her alcoholic father. Ex name is Jonas. I don't remember the names of H or h.

There is some kind of confrontation with ex, who is sterile and had h artificially inseminated. Baby looks a lot like H.

This might not be a HP at all. But does anyone know it?

Mazalu Alexandra (alecsa) | 4 comments Hi! I don't know the book's name or it's author. All i remember it's that the heroine has a bubbly personality and the hero tells her to grow up or something like that... She change her personality and he doesn't notice that until his brother ask him what did he done to her to make her act like that.
Thank you!

message 1864: by Vintage (new)

Vintage (vintagesedona) | 312 comments Yippee, I think I actually know this one. It's Maya Banks, Tempted by Her Innocent Kiss.

Ashley is a cute heroine, bubbly without being too annoying and actually develops a spine. Groveling ensues.

I think that the doctor told the H.
Sry but I really don't remember much of it but, I think I remember a scene where the h&H are having dinner with his family and the ow is there since their families have known each other for some time & she's going through a hard time ( i think she's getting divorced)

Ana (enali) | 27 comments i'm looking for the book, i think it's HP, where heroine is a singer and has asthma or something like that. she faints at the beginning and hero looks for her and finds her unconscious. he thinks she takes drugs. drugs are his weak spot because his mother died from drugs or something like that. she sings on his sister birthday party or his found raises charity event, but she's late because she is unconscious....they end up together bla bla how it always ends.

message 1872: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (wingstorm) I've been trying to track down the title of a book the I read about 10 years ago (though I'm not positive onthe year) I'm fairly positive that it was an hp title. A rich man gets a woman, possibly a bartender, to go out with him. She is selfconsious about the streatch marks from the baby she gave up for adoption, who they track down. He is a prince, though he didn't know it until the family was trying to find a willing heir. I remember there being a scene with a boat, if that helps...

Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you for the help!

Se Mcgregor | 550 comments Have searched high and low for this book. Posted here before but had no response. I think it is a Harlequin presents and probably around mid-2000's. H takes secretary / PA to Greece or Mediterranean Island to pose as his fiancée. His father is dying or ill and they end up having to go ahead with a wedding I recall them dancing together at the wedding. I think father wants son married before inheriting family empire. She hates lying to everyone, as his family have made her feel loved and welcome so she ends up returning to the UK. Appreciate any ideas on what it could be.

Se: this one came to my head when you mentioned your search. I am not sure if it is the one you are looking for, but it does sound similar. Could this one be the one you are looking for?

Se Mcgregor | 550 comments Rose - I would suggest looking through a list of 80's authors for harlequin mills & boon eg. Penny Jordan, Charlotte Lamb, Sara Craven, Anne Mather, using allromancewriters.com which has a listing of books by author, quite easy to scan through and see if any jog your memory. I've read a thousands of these books from 80's till now. Sometimes it takes a little while to job someone's memory. Good luck!

Liyah | 26 comments Hi!
I've got another one, would be nice if someone could help me out.
don't think that it's an older one.
so, the heroines mother is a ambassador in some foreign land and the h is about to join her there but h has to spend a night with the daughter of her mother's friend.
that's where she meets the H.
hero just broke up with GF cause she asked about their future (smth like marriage )
h thinks it's love at first sight and sleeps with him. She picks up the phone in the morning and H ex asks for him (pretended to be the Fiance) h leaves and goes to the airport to join her mom in foreign land.
H & h meet years later in hotel. h is a successful writer and tries to avoid the H.
Oh the h got pregnant from that one night. She tried to tell the H but she couldn't find the house she stayed at with H (I think they turned it into office block or smth)
she finally got a new address and was on a train to see him but she sees a picture of him in a magazine talking about his new wife and the mansion he built for her.
She gets out of the train and goes back home.

If I remember well he is not a truck driver, he just happens to drive a truck. Isn't he in law enforcement (hence the heroine's problem with him). It'll be great if somebody could come up with the title of this 'truck driver' romance. I'm sick of all those billionaires.

Jyothi | 53 comments One of those days when I suddenly remember a story but cant recall the title for the life of me. The h is a widow with a kid. Her husband died, he was a pilot, he ran a business with a partner, flying planes, like flying cargo or taking people across, I think. The h meets the H, who is the partner on the day of her wedding, lot of chemistry. She marries the H becoz she needs help taking care of the kid. I think the H and the deceased husband were raised in the same orphanage. Towards the end of the book, the h asks the H if her deceased husband would have been happy at their marrying, but H replies no, that the deceased husband always liked to own what the H wanted and not share, he tells her about a toy plane which the deceased husband had destroyed. In the middle of the book, there is an instance where the h then still married had come close to kissing the H, the H then realizes that she was not trying to flirt with him. Plzzzz give me the name of this book, someone....

That rings a bell, does he rescue her while she is pregnant and the plane crashes? Her husband begged him to take her on the plane? She saves his life. They don't see each other for a year or two before meeting again. She is living under assumed name to escape her husband who was nasty. Sound familiar?

Do you remember what year yours is?

Now I want to read the one I mentioned. She lived with her husband in remote area/island/jungle?, he was mentally abusive. It wasn't safe there and her husband asked the H to take her to safety. They crashed and she kept him alive till rescue came. Fast forward and they meet again, she has new identity, doesn't want her ex to know she is alive, with small child. The H has some kind of amnesia and gets headaches when he talks to her. Eventually he remembers who she is. Any ideas?

It's ok, I found it. Stepping out of the Shadows
