It Takes Place Where? Challenge
1.Darkborn by Alison Sinclair (Minhorne)2.Eyes Of Crow by Jeri Smith-Ready (Asermos)
3.The Lark And The Wren by Mercedes Lackey (Skull Hill?)
* books 4-10 pending*
ok I changed this challenge. Read 10 books that are set in an non urban/ otherworld. If you have problems finding books you can use a book with an urban setting that has changed from the world we know.. ( i.e. The world in the Kate Daniels series.)

lol no Michelle you were fine. I just threw it up too fast and didn't really think about what I wanted this challenge to be. Your books helped with the changes.

Rural is non-urban. Um, what ones are you thinking of? Scratching my head trying to figure books out for this one, so could use the suggestions. :o)
I read straight fantasy as well as UF, and those almost always take place in an imaginary world. But most of the book synopses don't tell you the name of the world, so I'm in, but I'm just going to fill in as I go.

A lot of Austen's stuff is set in small rural towns, at least apart from which ever one is set in Portsmouth - I grew there and it's definitely urban!
I'm in, but will post my list once I've figured out books :)
1.Darkborn by Alison Sinclair (Minhorne)2.Eyes Of Crow by Jeri Smith-Ready (Asermos)
3.The Lark And The Wren by Mercedes Lackey (Skull Hill?)
4.Song of Scarabaeus by Sara Creasy (Scarabaeus)
5.Heart Mate by Robin D. Owens (Celtan)
6.Lord of the Fading Lands by C.L. Wilson (Fading Lands?)
*7-10 will be posted as I go along*
I'm going to say yes, I'll give this a shot because I have several books that fit this criteria, lol! I'll post as I go, I think.Progress: 0/10

3 - Born To Be Wild - Christine Warren
4 - Circle of Honor - Carol Umberger
5 - Elizabeth's Wolf - Lora Leigh
6 - Kiss of Heat - Lora Leigh

9 - Blaze of Memory - Nalini Singh
10 - Penumbra - Keri Arthur
Kat, I love the Black Jewels series. I think the first 3 (the original trilogy) are the best, but they're all awesome. I haven't read the last 2 yet--I have Shadow Queen sitting on my shelf but I was waiting for Shalador's Lady to come out so I could read them back to back. And since it came out in March, I guess I better get on that. :)Oh, Daemon & Lucivar. Awesome characters. And hot to boot. :)
I have read all but the latest of her books, (Bishop). There is that witchy series too The Pillars of the World.
I was going to fill is as I went, but I couldn't help myself--I love making challenge lists. :)I gave myself a bunch of alternates, so I can hopefully plug some of these into future monthly challenges. And some I couldn't find the name of the land in the synopsis of the book, but I do know they take place in an imaginary land--I'll fill in the question marks when I read them.
Jael--does each one have to be a different place? I was just assuming it did, but then I noticed other had used books from the same series. If we can do that, I need to change my list. :)

Sorry :( Good luck to everyone else in the challenge :)

Just discovered this site...thanks to another addict (and found SO MANY familiar names, lol!)~great challenges :)!
What in the world are you 2 talking about? We are NOT addicts. If we were, we'd all be in some 12 step program somewhere. And I KNOW that I'm not an addict. (just ignore those 14 bookcases, the piles of books everywhere, the Nook charging up, the Droid set to ebook format, the ladies and gentlemen from my local library over here to borrow MY books. . .)

You are too funny. And the most serious kind of addict is the one who denies the addiction despite all the evidence to the contrary ...
What evidence to the contrary? I just have to look at my Mum's house to KNOW I'm not a book addict. At least MY floors aren't bowing under the weight of all the books. And we won't even talk about my Mum's next oldest sister, June. Let's just say she has 16' ceilings (150 year old house) and uses a ladder to get to the top of HER bookcases. So see, I'M, not an addict.
OK. With that clarification, I will definitely concede...but...perhaps you have a genetic tendency towards it...I also think I'd LOVE to visit your mother and aunt!
