I'm so glad that I'm two for two! If you give Dirty a go I think it will be the trifecta.

I think I've done the first three books so far in the SBC fighter series and have enjoyed them all. And I have a decent memory for characters and events so I hate to read things out of order and have anything spoiled for me.

Cry No More was a book I picked up to satisfy the FAC challenge for Linda Howard and ended up really liking it. Not a traditional romance but definitely a worthwhile read.

If you look at page 4, message #157. You will notice that Annie made recommendations for you. I will leave it up to Annie to decide wether or not, she can take a second recommendation to finish this month. I recommend you send her a PM and see what she thinks.

I think I'm going to read all of those books, they all seem like a good read.
What were the other 6 books you were going to recommend? I'd love to know, so I could perhaps go and buy them off of Amazon :)

Thanks for recommending me the books Debbie :)

Melanie (melaina) | 1339 comments @ Rossy: Cool thanks:

I'll read Dark Prince (I already bought the whole series like two years ago, lol, but never got around to it!!), The Mane Attraction (I love SL!), The Pregnancy Test (what a coincidence! I just read the second book You Don't Know Jack yesterday and loved it!), and if I have time, the others, starting with It had to be you and Covet:-)

Thanks Rossy!!! :-))

Hi Jim,

I did recommend to you the SECOND in a series which was Blue-Eyed Devil. It was my fav of the 3 in the series, but if you want to read them in order (I forget that everyone is not disjointed like me), they are:

Sugar Daddy

then
Blue-Eyed Devil

then
Smooth Talking Stranger

message 357: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Oh and Jim, for the trifecta I think it's going to be Talk Me Down even though I REALLY want to read the second in that series instead but my library doesn't carry it (hence my having to go with the first and your rec, even tho you said the second was great . . . tease!).

My library doesn't carry Dirty by Megan Hart either. Not that I expected them to, but maybe our used bookstore will have it.

Kim, I'm not saying the first Tumble Creek isn't good, it is. In fact after you read the first, I have a feeling that you will be ordering #2 from somewhere. #3 isn't half bad either, but #2 is still my favorite.

Went out and bought See Jane Score today. I'll start it tonight.

I would love it if I could mail Dirty to you to read but I've promised to lend it to a few of my friends here. I don't know as though I will have it to give away for a few months yet.

Macwolf01 [Elise] (macwolf01) | 1012 comments Finished Lover Mine by J.R. Ward lastest BDB ... THANKS for the pick Gigi. I was gonna wait until it came out on paperback but the store was having a great sale and I needed a serious BDB fix.

Loved John & Xhex's story ... but someone needs to buy J.R. Ward a thesaurus. Epilepic, sitch and a couple other words needed to be replaced with other words.

I've tried to get ahold of Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas but I'm not having any luck. I'll keep looking but I have another of her's on order from the library. And I'm hoping to get to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Lover Mine (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #8) by J.R. Ward

Can I put a book on hold thru library Jim? Ha ha! However, I do rather think I might order it and keep it if it's that good. I trust you, your tract record is pretty good thus far. My husband will be happy if he doesn't have to wait until Chapter 8 (he doesn't read my books, but reaps the benefits). I tell him that's usually when things start to get steamy. Uh oh, TMI!

Hope you enjoy See Jane Score, can't wait for your comments!

Sheila (sheilaj) Hi Lesley

I just finished Wake by Lisa McMann and enjoyed it very much. I have always been interested in dream interpretation.

One of my favorite movies is Dreamscape starring a young Dennis Quaid (not too hard on the eyes). The movie was quite similar to the story line of this book.

Thanks Lesley

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments I finished See Jane Score today. I didn't like it as much as Simply Irresistible but enjoyed it very much. I'd give it a 3.5/5.

I tend to like my heroines just a bit more feisty. Jane had the rapier wit but used it so seldom that I thought she was a bit stunted. Good side characters.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments I think I'll get my tattoo of something else. Yes, that's true, but I think it was more left up to the imagination, at least that's how I felt reading the story as a woman. As a man reading it, I suppose one would wonder why. It was the thought of that tattoo peeking out of the top of his pants over that rock hard ab . . . whew! Anyway, kind of like Jacki's tattoo in Causing Havoc, you knew it was on her hip but the men wanted to see more. Not that I necessarily cared about her tattoo but Gregor's lust sure flew up into the ozone layer when he saw it.

Y'know, and I am not even a tattoo person . . .

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Kim, I see your point. I have to say that I was also more interested in Jacki's tattoo.

Stardust by Neil Gaiman
Hi Ashley,
I just finished Stardust by Neil Gaiman and I really enjoyed it! Audible had it on sale and since it's narrated by Neil Gaiman I thought I'd give it a try in audio format. What an incredible story teller he is! I've been listening to J.D. Robb's in death series and I would equate that to "old time" radio shows. Susan Erickson's very expressive and uses lots of unique voices, it's like listening to a movie. But with Neil it was more like cuddling under the covers and listening to your Dad tell you a really, really good story. I did see the movie years ago and although I enjoyed it, I wish I had read the book first. It was distracting me that I knew some of the bigger "secrets" and it would have been nice to uncover them in the book. Still, Stardust was an incredibly pleasant experience.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Hi Penney! I was placed on a strict no book buying diet! So unfortunately I won't be able to read the first In Death book or Lord of the Fading Lands. But, since I already owned Darkfever I decided on that instead. I finished it yesterday!

It was excellent! I am dying to continue on with the series as it ended with a bit of a cliffhanger! (Which I love!). Thank you so much for the rec! I will try to also get through Outlander as well since I own that one too!

Then I went to read my second choice, Judgment in Death and realized it was #11 in a series that I've only read 3 of. So, I went to my third choice, Bitten to Death and finished that a couple of days ago!! I really enjoy the characters in that series, so I'm glad Karolina recommended it for this month. I am still going to try and read The Darkest Whisper as well before the month is over.

I finsihed my book this afternoon - The Captivation - fanning self! it was really good and I loved the setting because its not something you normally see (Bolshevik Russia in 1917). The ending was a little disappointing but since it was erotica and not erotic romance, I get that there wasn't an HEA.

Thanks for the pick!
