June - Pick It For Me! Challenge

Hey:-)) So I'll be choosing Black Ice and Lord of Scoundrels for my June challenge:-)
For you :
from your TBR
The Fire Rose by Mercedes Lackey: ML is one of my favorite fantasy authors, and I just loved her Elemental Master series :-) Think "Beauty and the Beast" for this book :-)
If Angels Burn by Lynn Viehl: I really enjoyed the Darkyn series, and the first book was one of my favorites, especially since you seem to like paranormal :-)
Naked In Death by JD Robb was recommended to me by Yz for the last pick-it-for-me challenge, and I'm now on the 17th book :-) So although the first 100 pages might seem a little slow, if you like romantic suspense/mystery, as well as HAWT Celtic heroes, you're in for a treat :-))
Midnight Man by Lisa Marie Rice : More sensual than the other recs, but I remember reading this book and loving John :-)
Once Bitten, Twice Shy by Jennifer Rardin: Jaz is one of my fave heroines : she has it all: a tormented past, a killer job, and a meltingly hot boss who happens to be a vampire:-)
New to you
For the Roses by Julie Garwood : I saw you've read a couple of her historicals, whereas I haven't yet, but I've only heard good things about this book, and this is one of the next books I'll be reading:-)
Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon : I noticed you weren't crazy about Fantasy Lover... Although I did enjoy it, it doesn't introduce you to the Dark-Hunter world, which is what this one does.. Think Greek mythology meets vampires :-)
Sugar Daddy or Secrets of a Summer Night by Lisa Kleypas : the first is her first contemp novel that introduces the Travis family, and the second is the first in her historical Wallflower Quartet series: Both amazing, and if you haven't read LK yet, you really should get to it! :-)
The Pretender by Celeste Bradley: Historical romance, but a great start to a new series!
Wicked All Day by Liz Carlyle: This was probably one of my favorite books... I loved Zoe, who starts out as an unhappy, spoiled and impulsive girl and gets stuck engaged to the wrong man :-)
There you go! Sorry, it seems like I might have given too many recs, but once I got started, it was hard to stop:-) If you need me to weed them down, let me know :-) I hope you find something you'll like!
Hey it's 8 hrs after my post, but I just realized that you haven't read Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian!! It's on your TBR, and the fabulous start to her Breed series about a vampire warrior brotherhood!!!!

Oh, I know...but I'd like to get to at least 2 books from the list and I have a lot of other challenges!

I'm going to read Halfway to the Grave since I just figured out this is where the Bones I've heard so much about is from.
If I have time, I'll also read Vampire Academ..."</i>
My library doesn't have the Night Huntress series and I'm not allowed to buy any new books right now (if you saw my computer room you'd understand why), so I'll read [book:Vampire Academy instead.

Yes, in fact am gathering the names of those missing right now to send an email reminder.

Yeah, I do like the paranormal genre alot... :) I try to branch out but I get caught up in series.
Ok, so I looked through you books and seems you really like romance. I have not read many romance novels so I can't recommend any personally. But here is what I came up with:
New
1.) Dead above Ground by Jervey Tervalon
2.) Claiming the Courtesan by Ann Campbell
3.) Saving Madeline by Rachel Ann Nunes
4.) The Rake by Mary Jo Putney
From your TBR Pile
1.)Lady Sophia's Lover
2.)The Rescue
3.)Passion
4.)Married by morning
I hope you can find something out of this list, if not let know and I will look some more.
Happy reading!

There was a sentence that I just cracked up reading (p 106): "It was a primitive display, Jessica told herself. On the scale of social development it was about one notch above hitting her over the head with a club and dragging her away by her hair"
Thanks for the awesome recs Harper:-))

Ok, so I have checked all your lists and I see that you like the paranormal genre a lot! I tried to choose books that would fit that criteria, plus a couple of different ones...I hope..."
Ok...I want to add one more to your TBR list!!
At Grave's End
Hope its good!!

Thanks Lydia!!!
I will read Lady Sophia'slover for this challenge.
But I did add Claiming the Courtesan and The Rake to my TBR list!!

I'm going to read Halfway to the Grave since I just figured out this is where the Bones I've heard so much about is from.

Bones is definatly YUMMY! But Cat kicks butt too.
Enjoy!

Any-who, this one is going to be a challenge for me as well. I've just gotten into historical romance like a week ago. I never knew how good it could be! So, I hope I can find some books that interest you :)
TBR
1. Dead Until Dark- So this is the only book in your TBR that I've actually read. I'm not going to say that this is the best in the whole series, but it does give a solid start to it. And it makes way for a lot of the better books in the series.
2. If You Deceive- Okay, so this one definitely looks like a winner. Very sexy and it's by Kresley Cole. What more could you ask for?
3. A Dangerous Man- This one looks good. Like I said, I'm just getting into HR, and this one intrigues me.
4. Knight of Pleasure- nothing like a strong female lead, and this one looks to fit the bill.
New
1. Song of Seduction- This one is an ebook. So, feel free to skip over it, but this is the HR that opened my eyes to how good the genre could be.
2. Sinful- This one is at times very steamy and at others really romantic. It also has a strong female lead.
3.If You Dare- You have the third book on your TBR. Why not the first?
4. Mine Till Midnight- I was looking at lists of favored HR and this one seems to be one that people really like.
You have given me so many great choices! lol, I keep going back and forth between which one I want to choose. Right now I'm in between Soulless, Bitten, and Salem's Lot. I'll let you know when I pick. =3

Sounds good.

Hey! Sorry I'm a little late responding. Thanks for taking the time to stop at an internet cafe to make my recs. I really appreciate it!

I hope you like the choices that I picked a let me tell you going through your TBR list just added to my own so thanks for that. So here is your list:
TBR list
1. P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahearn, this is a tear jerker so have tissues ready
2. Blood Brothers (Signs of Seven Trilogy) by Nora Roberts, this a paranormal romance that will have you sleeping with you lights on (well if you’re a scardy cat like me) loved this series
3. Morrigan’s Cross ( The Circle Trilogy) by Nora Roberts, if you like fantasy this is a great read and if you can’t tell I love Nora Roberts =D
4. The Cinderella Rules by Donna Kauffman, this is just a fun read and you get a little bit of everything
My recommendations
5. I Love Bad Boys by Lori Foster, this is definitely a book you just sit down and enjoy
6. Dark Prince (The Carpathians (Dark) Series) by Christine Feehan, here’s another twist on the ever popular vampire but it’s great.
7. Dead and Unwed (Queen Betsy series) by MaryJanice Davidson, this is a fun read
8. City of Bones (Mortal Instruments series) by Cassandra Clare, this is different from the others but I though you would like if you like Twilight by Stephanie Meyers you’ll love this.
If you can’t tell I like series and at the end through in a little YA for some seasoning I guess. I hope you have fun and sorry for my tastiness

It was no problem! :-)
'Course I could have just asked my hotel, lol... Turns out they have a "business center"... Oh well.. At least I walked, and was able to get my recs :-)
Like I said, thanks for recommending Black Ice and Lord of Scoundrels! I'm done with the first and almost done with the second :-)) Love them both! :-)

I LOVED that book! Now I want to read it again! :)

I just started the Bow street runners series! So far so good!

Hey:-)) So I'll be choosing Black Ice and Lord of Scoundrels for my June challenge:-)

Thanks for the recs, Melanie! I think I'm going to go with either "The Pretender" or "Wicked All Day." I added almost all the new recs to my TBR list, though, even the Sherrilyn Kenyon one. If I try it, it'll be my third attempt to read something by her without giving up. We'll see how it goes.

Wow, you're fast! Glad you loved Bastien. You should definitely keep going with the series if you liked him. Her heroes are awesome!

You are scaring me, Melanie!LOL

I hope you like the choices that I picked a let me tell you going through your TBR list just added to my own so thanks for that. So here is your list:

Thanks for the recommendations Dedria (and glad you found some ideas for yourself). I have already read Dark Prince and Undead and Unwed, so I think I'm going to go with one of the Nora Roberts' books, just haven't decided which one yet. Do either take place in Summer? I have a challenge that I still need books for.
Have you decided which rec you're going to read yet?

I see you got me on that list Rossy. Thanks! I have a question tho. If I get re-paired do I make new recs to the new partner as well? Or is it a stand in person who already received recs? I figure I could give them recs anyway, cause it's fun! But understand they may not have time to read mine as well!

Hi! I managed to get to the library today. I had put Causing Havoc on hold, so I'm starting there and they also had Cry No More so that will be next! I also am interested to read Florida Roadkill.
I'll keep you posted! By the way, the tattoo in See Jane Score is much further south then where you are thinking of putting yours!

I see you got me ..."
Yes, you would be making new recs for your new partner as well. That is why not everybody can volunteer, only those that can handle more than one book to finish.

Ditto!

Thanks for clearing that up!

Once you're re-paired, you're committed to only finish your CURRENT partners rec. I would not be opposed to another member volunteering to be partnered with them, if they so wish.
Does that make sense? I'm starving so my brain is not 100%.LOL

now go get something to eat in case you need to think clearly later.
