Leslie (funlovinlady) | 113 comments Ok, here goes:
Acheron: Dark Hunter, Book 11
Anyone But You
Beyond the Body Farm
Blood Ties Book One: The Turning
City Of Bones (read half, hope to someday finish)
Dark Seduction
Daughter of the Blood
Deep Survival
Destiny Kills
Dirty
A Dream of Undying Fame
Einstien

You get the picture. Yet, I am always looking for new books.

Tell the truth....Do I have a problem? And do these pants make me look fat?

message 2: by Melinda (new)

Melinda (craftymommy) | 23 comments You don't have a problem. I would list the books I own but haven't read, but there's over 60 of them! ;) And I keep buying books; I also have a subscription to a Netflix-like place but for books and I go to the library every couple of weeks to check out books.

message 3: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. My husband wishes there were only 60 in my TBR shelf. I bought a huge lot (over 100) on Ebay and after going through them, ended up keeping most of them because I hadn't read them. My husband said I'm turning into a "hoarder".

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 672 comments The books I own in my TBR pile are to numerous to list....and I keep adding cause whenever I see a book that sounds interesting it ends up in my TBR pile

ஐAndreaஐ (rosesrrblue) | 51 comments Awesome! I thought I was bad but seriously only have like 20 or so. I try to stop myself from buying books that I won't read in the next couple of weeks.

Melinda what is the Netflix-like place you were talking about?

message 6: by Melinda (new)

Melinda (craftymommy) | 23 comments Andrea, there are a couple out there. The one that I use is called Booksfree. Just like Netflix you pick how many books you are borrowing at one time and pay a monthly fee. You get the books and it comes with an envelope to mail back when you're done.

I like it so far, I've been using it for almost a year. I have about 300 books in my queue. One of the possible cons is that if you're on the west coast like I am, the shipping is slower. It takes about a week to get a package from them. I've heard on the east coast {they're based in Virginia} the shipping is faster.

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 437 comments Um... my TBR shelf which should only be things I own, whether they be physical books, ebooks or audiobooks is currently at 420. That can't be right though, because that's just embarrassingly bad. LOL

Um, I blame paperbackswap, free ebooks and a book buying habit that is obviously out of control.

message 8: by Crystal (new)

Crystal (crys25) | 237 comments Melinda that is an awesome idea, how much is the monthly fee if you don't mind me asking?

message 9: by Jackie M (new)

Jackie M | 52 comments I have about 20 or so actual books that I need to read and about 70 on my Kindle but yet I still borrow from the library. I told my husband that I need to start attacking the books I have or I'll never get around to reading them.

message 10: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) I couldn't begin to guess how many unread books I have at home!

message 11: by Brandy (new)

Brandy Holt (brandy11d) LOL, it seems like for every book I read another 5 appear on my to-read shelf.

message 12: by Archer (new)

Archer Just look my TBR section.. Haven't read them yet.. So no you don't have a problem and you look fine in those pants.

message 13: by KellyJo (new)

KellyJo I have about 200 that are in my closet that need to be read. I have an addiction with buying book. I get about 10 every week.

message 14: by Crystal (new)

Crystal (crys25) | 237 comments Kelly, you lucky girl. I wish I could buy 10 every week-but then Mr. Crystal would have a hairy canary. So we have a system worked out, we're both allowed to spend on hobbies twice a month and it has to be kept under a certain amount. Every now and again though I sneak a couple of extra books in.

message 15: by KellyJo (new)

KellyJo I buy most of my books for the thrift store.. most of the time i pay .50 to a $1. If I get a new book I always have a coupon. I have been going to yard sales and church sales and getting a bag of books for $5. I dont have any other hobbies so a few books here are there for me isn't really alot of money.

message 16: by Crystal (new)

Crystal (crys25) | 237 comments Oh, I see what you mean. Reading is my only real hobby as well. Unfortunately there aren't any 2nd hand book stores in my area which stinks. I wind up utilizing my local library a lot.

message 17: by Melinda (new)

Melinda (craftymommy) | 23 comments @crystal: they have different plans with $10.99/2 books at a time being the cheapest and $49.99/15 books at a time being the most expensive and there are several plans in between those two. I have the 6 books at a time plan.

@Kelly. 200? I love the thought of being able to walk into my closet and pick from so many books. I like having several just in case I'm in the mood for a certain type of book.

message 18: by Crystal (new)

Crystal (crys25) | 237 comments @Melinda-Thanks for the info that sounds awesome.

message 19: by Inkspeckle (new)

Inkspeckle | 17 comments I rush out and buy the next in a series, even though I will wait weeks before I get to it. I have about 20 or so that I've been itching to read, and more that I want to get, but I can only read one at a time. Piles of books to be read... and still I can't resist my teacher discount at Books-A-Million or the used book store or Amazon... there has to be a support group for people with this sort of problem... or, wait. This is it, isn't it? Hi, I'm Inkspeckle and I'm a bookaholic...

That sounds interesting. I might have to check it out.

Leslie (funlovinlady) | 113 comments Have any of you guys ever donated your books to your local library? Do they use them?

message 22: by Crystal (new)

Crystal (crys25) | 237 comments Leslie, my husband and I have an agreement. I can hoarde my books until we have to move. When moving time rolls around I must cull out 1/3 of my books. Please note after living in one place for 2 years or so I usually have a few hundred books. I have always donated my books to my local library. Some books which are only gently used go on the shelves, the ones that show a little more extensive use usually will go in there book sales.

message 23: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments @Leslie my library will keep my hardback but paperback tends to go to the book sale.

For paperback I am a paperbackswap.com girl

As for my TBR oh man there are to many to read I think I have about 150.

message 24: by AH (new)

AH I donate all of the books we no longer read to our local library. Every fall they have a huge book sale and the proceeds go to buying new books. I just hope I don't end up buying the books that I have given away.

Kids books get donated to local schools or teachers I know. They always appreciate extra books in the classroom.

message 25: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Hmmm...

Blue Moon
Gossip Girl series (5 books of them)
Ink Exchange
Pride and Prejudice
.... Uh... I think that's it.

Lauren⁷ 💜 (lrc123) | 4 comments I have a huge (700+) i want to read list, which are books i want to read but don't own. My actual TBR read pile is pretty small, less than 30 books.
Among them are the Lori Handeland "Moon" books and Max by James Patterson.

message 27: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments I've just had a look, my tbr list is 522, less wishlist, which makes it 434. However, I'd have about 150 ebooks which haven't made the list yet.

So that's 584, wow *shakes head in shock*.

Just can't stop buying books, it's an addiction.

Lauren- I read the Lori Handeland "Moon" books and they were good, but I really like her Liz Phoenix series starting with, Any Given Doomsday
