Alycia | 1478 comments They all look really good! We do have quite a few books in common. Are you going to use them in the challenge, Dhes?

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Yes, I think I will. I HOPE I can wait. LOLOL

Alycia | 1478 comments LOL! At least June first is not too far away.

message 54: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments That's true! I'm reading Undone right now and loving it. It's an anthology with Mary Wine. I love her Highlanders, but I'm also loving Susan Johnson's story, too.

message 55: by Alycia (new)

Alycia | 1478 comments Looks good! I am not a huge fan of short stories, but I have been reading more because sometimes that's all you need. and I have book add sometimes. So it's nice to have that option.

message 56: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I've been reading so many intense books lately, the the shorts have been great "breathers" for me. Plus, they are a less expensive way to try out different authors.

Dead After Dark (Includes: Dark-Hunter, Related Books #10) is an anthology I bought for SK's story, but reading the Story of Son intro'd me to the BDB for which I will be forever grateful!!!

message 57: by Alycia (new)

Alycia | 1478 comments I have wanted to read that anthology just for the story of son, I have yet to do that.

message 58: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments You should, it's such a good, good story.

message 59: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Oh, and it sounds like the Story of Son characters may end up in the BDB world.

message 60: by Alycia (new)

Alycia | 1478 comments Yes, based on all the info you posted. I will definitely need to read that one soon!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Looks great, Dina!!

message 67: by Robin (new)

Robin | 361 comments I think this has been asked before but I don't recall the answer. If you read an anthology can you count each novella separately?

message 68: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Robin wrote: "I think this has been asked before but I don't recall the answer. If you read an anthology can you count each novella separately?"

Generally, in other groups, the answer is no. BUT, I'm not policing the challenges so it's up to you. I won't be checking... kind of like "don't ask, don't tell"

message 69: by Robin (new)

Robin | 361 comments What about a book I started to read got as far as Chapter 2 then quit to read other books?

message 70: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments You're grasping... LOL

message 81: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

message 82: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) | 718 comments Come on, ladies, join the Slightly More Challenging Reading Challenge too! I'm in and it's going to be a piece of cake... I think, LOL.

message 83: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I'm still thinking about that one. I'm so not good at challenges. :)

message 84: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 29 comments I'm so terrible at these challenges. I'll probably have to pass. Plus my reading time is so limited now. :-( Good luck to all of you ladies!

I may try it but I don't know that I'll succeed. Danielle is much better than me. She may be "so not good at challenges" but at least she tries. My motto is "if you don't think you can finish it, don't start it." LOL

Who knows? Maybe what I end up reading this summer will work for the challenge anyway. :-)

message 85: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments No pressure, Lynsey. I just take it one book at a time. If you decide to participate, we can hold hands. :)

message 86: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Lynsey, just give it a shot! See, you have to remember, on the Not Too Challenging Challenges, you set your own book count. If you want to choose 1 per month, you can. And then, you can read more if you want.

The 4 books is just a "shoot for" goal. Everything in the All Things Summer Challenge is however YOU make it. I'm not checking your books for accuracy or whatever.

For example, let's say you were going to go on vacation in May, but went in June instead? There's a June read because it SOMEHOW related to June.

The Slightly More Challenging Challenge is a little harder, but honestly, there's no reason you can't participate and finish the All Things Summer Challenge, because YOU make it fit the category.

message 87: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Dina, I'M afraid to join the SMCC. LOL

message 88: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) | 718 comments UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "Dina, I'M afraid to join the SMCC. LOL"

But you're the one who create it... You should join, just to set an example. How do you like this "harmless" nudge of mine? LOL!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments LOLOL OK, I'll sign up. *sigh*

message 93: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments You bet, Lynsey. If you have any questions, just holler.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments Right I am actually finding it quite hard to come up with books, but I will give it a shot, so far I have:

1. Sunshine by Robin McKinley
2. Sun, Sand, Sex by Shelly Launreston et al
3. How to Marry a Marquis by Julia Quinn
4. Burning Bright by Tracey Chevalier

Okay I can't think of anything else! I need suggestions!

message 95: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Suzanne, I went to my books and I put in sunshine, hot, heat, summer, and things like that as search words, and it pulled up books I had on my shelves with those in the title. That's how I got my list together.

message 96: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Suzanne, we're so glad you're giving this a shot.
