I have two books out, for 4th graders and their grandparents, but I'm currently in final edits on my first mystery (a cozy, of course!).

Good to be on this site with all of you.
Donna

I'm from Ohio, having lived here all my life, except for two years of graduate school in Detroit, and five years in Northeast[ern] England.

Briansgirl - any chance we can start a new intro thread? This one is starting to act oddly re; updating flags. etc.

Mihir here from NYC ... grew up with Enid Blyton's five finf outers being my favourtie... read hardy boys, to da vinci... looking forward to this group...

I'm new to GoodReads, but already loving it! I'm a writer of YA fiction, and as a reader I have a particular interest in YA mystery fiction.
If you've got recommendations, send them along!
Thanks,
AC

Nita I am on book #5 of Louise Penny's series. I love the series.

I am a self-professed mystery addict, weened on the Hardy Boys and Agatha Christie. No better genre to my mind. When I'm not reading, I watch mysteries and by now I've completely exhausted every offering on netflix. Hard to say who my favorite detective is, but I lean towards Kurt Wallander, and I drive a Saab.

Welcome to all the newbies!

I've joined this group because my reading tastes have cycled back to the cozy mystery. They're really great reads after a stress day at work.
I searched for mysteries with horses (love them)and found Kit Ehrman(Steve Cline Mysteries) and got hooked all over again. Steve is a young barn manager at horse farms in Maryland.
Since I've read them all, I'm in a hunt for another series.

I am looking forward to all the suggestions that everyone has.

I hope this group is still active as I see many of these intros posted go back a bit.

Hello! I liked the Hardy Boys too! Along with Nancy Drew, of course..have you read the Martha Grimes Richard Jury series?

@R.V. - have you tried Dick Francis? His books are mostly related to horse racing (specifically steeplechase) as he himself was a jockey who started writing as a second career after retiring from racing.

My name is Odie and am almost finished with "Thistle & Twigg" by Mary Saums. An absolutely delightful little book! I ordered it's follow up from the river *wink* (not sure if we are allowed to say other sites) and it is supposed to arrive today and I'm so excited!
I spent a part of the day yesterday making a reading list which includes firsts of many series and ordered a few firsts from D.M.Davidson, the Peggy Lee garden, Odelia Grey and Maddie Hunter and S. Hill! We shall see how those go once they get here!
I'm so excited to find a forums site! I'm so looking forward to chatting and hopefully getting to know you folks a bit!
*waves*

I think it's okay to say whatever we want here. Anyway, Amazon now own GR, so they certainly don't object to that!
Misty, I love Craig's books, though I sometimes want to smack him for saying "delish" all the time :)

I grew up with Trixie Belden (not Nancy Drew) and have been reading mysteries ever since.
I gravitate to series instead of stand-alone books. Although, I've been known to venture outside the world of cozy mysteries to pick up a bestseller or biography.
I live in Florida where it's hot for so long that it's best to stay inside with a good book.

I read both Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew, but I preferred Trixie. I still have one of her books published in the 60's. (Yes, I am that old!)

Kai

I just stumbled across this incredible website and I'm still overwhelmed by all the awesomeness.
Can't wait to lurk around the group and discover great books. :)
