Every time I read a Marian Babson book, I remember again why I love her so much. I'm glad to find another fan. I don't hear her discussed around here too much.

Oh--I live in Virginia now, near DC. My husband retired from the Navy and we also lived in San Diego and Japan.

Hi Deborah, yes I love the Hamish series too. Currently a little off track (still reading M.C. Beaton but her regency stuff. I've not heard of Elaine Viets and so will have to look her up and give her a read. :-)
Janis.

Hello all new. You have joined a great site! Have fun with it.

Susan"
Good to know! What is your book's title?

Deborah, my book is The Ginseng Conspiracy. It's coming out in January 2014. It has some humor similar to M. C. Beaton's. I've read all of Beaton's A.R. and H.M. books except for the last couple. Please add me as your friend and you will see the updates. Thanks for your reply.

Hello all new. Cozy myteries are the best!
Hello Mariann! Welcome! Nice to see you here!

I'm new to this i had my share with teen horror and mystery novels but need to step it up and I hope from joining this group I gets the best advice and enjoyment

What do you think of the news that the publishers plan a new Poirot novel?
Welcome all newcomers. I've never felt more welcomed by a group; ever. Thanks. I'm spending my time entering all my cozy mysteries from my kindle into Goodreads. I'm noticing kindle authors love to give you the first in a series so you will be hooked and buy the next. Food for thought for those with limited budgets. I buy from several second hand book dealers in my area and keep them from going out of business. It's all about relationship and the big boy shop doesn't know my name at all, though they are happy to take my cash, they have to ask me every time. My little shop calls me by name every time I enter the place and knows their stock intimately, like I know each tome I have on my own shelves. It's love I tell you! love! Ha ha. I intend to stalk the cozies next time I'm in.
My name's Christina. From Jersey. I love reading - I prefer it to tv. I love reading mysteries, suspence, YA, anything good. Let's face it - there is nothing like a good book! I look forward to reading through everyone's posts and finding new things to read, so I just wanted to express my gratitude.

I think it will be interesting to see if the author pulls this off. There are other books out there continuing a popular literary character under a later author. I've read a couple and my enjoyment varied with who wrote the book. An example: a couple of years ago I read a book about Nero Wolfe, written by someone who admired Rex Stout and his sleuth. It was disappointing.

I started my love for books at the tender age of 3...57 years ago. To this day I cannot go into the bathroom without something to read...even if it is a cereal box.
MY biggest problem today is guilt if I am writing that I am not reading or guilt if I am reading and not writing. I am writing my third novel and hope to have it published this time next year.
Love PATTERSON, ROBERTS, JD ROBB, GARDNER, FOLLET ( NOT MYSTERY, BUT AWESOME writer.) DEMILLE, STEPHEN WHITE and so many more.

I'm a fan of the classic mystery literature: namely Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie's detectives. I've ready all of the former's stories and a good chunk of the latter's. I've read a smattering of more modern authors, whom I like, but Doyle and Christie are still my favorites.
I also like thrillers (James Patterson), especially those with a medical or science bent (think Michael Crichton).
I've turned my love of these two similar genres into a writer career, with my first book out in a few weeks.
I'm looking forward to seeing more recommendations from this group.

I have never written a book but one day would like to undertake that challenge in the near future. I'm newer to Goodreads and look forward to the chat and banter.
Hi, my name's Zander. I'm from Bristol and I joined this group because I'm very addicted to reading novels with mystery in them and also I want to have a lot of friends so I'm killing birds with stone so...yeah :]

I'm Brigette. I'm currently reading the PTA Series. I'm on the last book, and have enjoyed the first three so far.

I was devastated to hear the author passed away and there will be no more novels.. He is an excellent writer.

I think I'm one of the only people I know who didn't like those books. I read TGWTDT and didn't like it, at all really. A friend of mine convinced me, though, that I had to read the 2nd one because it was so much better than the first one. I read it and told her she lied to me because I liked it even less! Never even bothered with the last one. Very popular books, but most assuredly NOT cozy in ANY way! Incredibly violent with lots of really bad things happening. Which is okay if I like the book.

I'm really looking toward to getting to know other cozy fans. I especially like dog-related mysteries, a la Susan Conant and Laurien Berensen, so would love other recommendations along the same vein!

I read the first in 50 Shades of Grey series, but never bothered with the other 2. I like good erotica, but that didn't pass the "good" test for me! LOL

hello Carol,
my 3 ebook mysteries may be for you, if you have an ebook reader. feel free to visit my author dashboard and take a look at them - they all have good reviews on Amazon if you want to check them out there as well.
