Hi everyone!!! My name is Vanessa and I'm a huge fan of reading. I swear, I swear I spend more time with my nose in a book than my nose into actual things that are going on around me! I joined GoodReads a couple of months ago, and I'm in love with this site. I also joined this group because I LOVE cozy mysteries - my favorite author being Heather Webber/ Heather Blake (Her Wishcraft series is the BEST!). I began really getting into mysteries last summer when I decided to re-read Agatha Christie's _And Then There Were None_. I haven't looked back since... I'm so glad to be a part of this group. :)

I loved the Donna Parker books! Had the whole series and read them multiple times!

My name is Frances, and I am a retired high school English teacher. I just found cozy mysteries a couple of years ago and have read very little else since! My favorite author is Laura Childs. I love all three of her series, but my favorite is the Tea Shoppe Mysteries.
I just finished the first 13 Jane Jeffrey mysteries by Jill Churchill. They are totally entertaining. I am waiting for the library to get the last two in.
I am also a HUGE fan of Richard Castle's Nicki Heat mysteries. Even though they are not technically cozy mysteries, they are great!
I have been a member of Goodreads for a good while, but am just joining a book club.

I have read all of your cozies and love them!! They are a really fun read!

Hi and thanks for the welcome, Beth! :) And hi to Amber, Vanessa, MaryAnn, Rhonda, Melodie, Dainty, Holly, Raven/Ben (I love intrigue, too, Ben! :D), Nancy, Nickolas, Emily (It's not dorky that your favorite mysteries are Nancy Drew books, Emily - it's cool! :D), Frances and everyone (making sure didn't miss anyone!) :)
Just joined! I LOVE cozy mysteries!!

Without coming on too strong, I hope, I'd like to recommend you take a look at my book: MOCHA, MOONLIGHT, AND MURDER. It's romantic suspense and I tell people that if they like Jane Austen and/or Agatha Christie, they'll like this book.
Welcome. :)

I'm Kathy, and I live in Central Florida with my husband, teenage son, a cat and a dog. I love mysteries, though I'm not sure all of the ones I read are considered cozies.
I recently started reading Agatha Christie, and am kind of surprised that I've never read her books considering my love for mystery novels.
I don't know that I have a favorite cozy writer. I confess that sometimes I get tired of the formula and don't finish a series. I recently did that with Susan Whittig Albert's books. I really enjoyed them, but needed a break.
I'm hoping to be an active member of this group.

My book MOCHA, MOONLIGHT, AND MURDER does not follow a typical formula. At least I don't think so. My favorite authors are Jane Austen and Agatha Christie. I tried to make my story a nice mixture of both genres.
Don't worry, this is the last time I'll mention my book. But it is a huge part of who I am, and you do say you like Agatha Christie.
Anyhoo-welcome. :)

I have mentioned this before - but you weren't here - that Stephanie Barron has written some mysteries that feature Jane Austen as the sleuth! I've enjoyed them,
find them very "period," and well written.
perhaps you'd like to try them.

I'm over on the east coast, in Titusville. It's about 30 miles east of Orlando, and Kennedy Space Center is in our "back yard".

Hi Carol,
Welcome to the group. Where in Northern Illinois do you live? I'm from Iowa and set my second book in Galena. Love that town!

Bring on the books, the more I read the more I want to read...lol

I read many genres, including cozy mysteries. Most recently, I read COLLATERAL CASUALTIES, A Kate Huntington Mystery. My favorites in the genre are probably Leann Sweeney's Yellow Rose Mysteries and Charlaine Harris's Harper Connelly Mysteries. I also liked the Julie Collins, PI series by Lori G. Armstrong. I think a few of the titles I mentioned border on Not Cozy. But they were close enough for me.
Currently in my TBR (to be read) pile are The Monarch and Dangerous and Unseemly: A Concordia Wells Mystery.
Nice to meet you all.

In other words, I'm Toni L.P. Kelner, cozy reader and writer of 11 cozy mysteries. But starting in September, my first book in a new series comes out under the pen name Leigh Perry.
Though I'm originally from North Carolina, I moved to Massachusetts 26 years ago, and in the throes of homesickness, started writing a Southern-based mystery. Though I'd read a lot of mysteries, most of them were classics, and I decided I need to read the current stuff. And most of what I loved was cozy! (Maron, Hart, McCrumb, Charlaine Harris, and...and...lots more.) So my book became a cozy, and I've been cozy ever since.
Okay, sometimes I get noir for short stories, but those are just flings.
I live north of Boston with my husband Steve, our daughters, and two guinea pigs.

Catie and Veronica, we get a lot of Texas visitors here in Breckenridge, Colorado. They escape the heat in the summer and enjoy skiing in the winter.
Good to see you here, Toni!!!

I'm a widow with 4 grown kids, 8 grandkids, 3 cats and a tiny teacup toy poodle who is my best friend.
I've tried a number of the free Kindle books - found some really good ones and some not so much. Just started with my local library online but not nearly as good a selection as I'd like.
I've been on goodreads for awhile but haven't participated in the discussions until now. Do have my ebooks organized here as the Kindle Fire doesn't offer any way to organize them.

I lived in Colorado most of my life and worked my gray-cells to the end of their synapses writing software for Fortune 500 companies and NASA. Writing should be a cinch after that -- right. Well even though I can't complain about sales (my book's an amazon best selling mystery); you Goodread readers are killing me with your reviews.
So much for that topic, or I will be banned for self-promotion. The dirt that holds these old bones together is approaching seventy years. No, that's not quite right. The dirt is much older than that, but the body it's using is going on seventy and starting to fall apart. I've been reading mysteries for nearly half a century now and only recently discovered how much I like Cozies. Am I getting soft in my old age? I always thought they were for women. Men are supposed to be tough and macho -- right? Well guys, if any are reading this, you've been missing out on some really cool stories. I'm so tired of gratuitous sex and violence, and if I have to read one more book where every adjective starts with the letter F, I'm going to step on my glasses and never read again. Thank the Lord for cozies. I don't care what Maxium thinks of me.

Welcome, Richard, and I loved your intro. : )

I'm Cate Price and I'm a debut author with a sewing-notions-themed mystery series for Berkley Prime Crime. I live near Philadelphia with two wonderful rescue dogs.
I first fell in love with cozies when my mum introduced me to Diane Mott Davidson and her culinary mysteries. My current favorites are Lucy Burdette, Cleo Coyle, M.C. Beaton, Laura Childs and Janet Evanovich (if she's considered cozy?).
Very nice to be here on Goodreads! I've already discovered lots of new books to add to my "want-to-read" list.

welcome Richard, and ditto for me on the "love your intro." I also heartily agree with you.
two of the local fans of my own cozies who have left me great reviews are men over 60.... it is a new age indeed!

I'm an Aussie reader/author who loves all mysteries. I was brought up on Christie and still love getting back into those, but also love these newer cozies which cross over hobbies/interests with murder. Anything with dogs in it is a big win for me, but I must admit I also like the cooking ones and my favourite cookie recipe is from Joanna Flunke (could be wrong about the surname). Oh, but I can't dismiss the great cat mysteries too, my cat loves interrupting my reading with those ones!
Another area I like to read is middle grade and YA mysteries (the market I write for) and am really happy to see a trend for girls' mysteries returning with modern day versions of Trixie Beldon and Nancy Drew.
