M.C. Beaton, Joan Hess' Maggody series, etc. I especially like the Brit ones. I have just started in on Agatha Christie - I dont know why it took me so long to get to her!

Scila, I'm also from Italia, Veneto. I'm not good at selling my own books, but I hope you read my Love Thy Sister, it was my first cozy, it's all about coming to America and missing Italy, the story of 2 Italian sisters. It will be out in Italian October 2012, I'm hoping to make it to Italy for the launch.
Hope my link works-Maria Grazia Swan

Let me know if you'll come here for the launch.. Have a great day :)

Hi Sue! Thanks so much :)"
I think I just wrote to you on the Classics for Beginners! Welcome to both sites.

Yes, it's me! Small reading world ;) Nice to see you here as well.

I believe I found this group through the groups on your profile page Lady Danielle lol

Hi, so, where are you in Italy? I live up North, about 45 minutes from Venice (or the garage at piazzale Roma). Are you on facebook? If so, let's connect.

Cool!

I apparently don't "get" the Stieg Larsson books. It took me forever to read TGWTDT and I thought it was pretty much just okay. I was assured TGWPWF was much better. I think I was lied to!! After struggling through those 2 I had no desire to read the last one! The books were well written, they just didn't hold my interest at all.........and I know I'm in a very small minority!

Often I dont have any interest in what is considered "popular". I have copies of them but have always found something I prefer to read more. I havent read the Hunger Games series or the Help either. People look at me like i'm strange - maybe I am.....lol

Thanks for your input Melodie, truly I never had much interest in reading it but everywhere I turn, I see it! It's nice to hear someone with a different point of view on it :D I'll keep it on my list, but further down lol

I don't think any of us is strange for not reading the big blockbuster books, we just know our own tastes ;) Personally, I've seen some author names on top ten, best seller lists whose writing make me shudder (not in a good way) lol Popularity is definitely not always the sign of a good book, so make room for me in the 'strange' group too

I have read THE HUNGER GAMES books after passing over them for some time. I did really love them and was surprised when I did! I had a copy of THE HELP. It was given to me and I finally put it on eBay when I realized I was never going to read it. For awhile I thought I must be a bad person for not wanting to read it, but I know that's not true. Books like that just are not the type of book that holds my interest. We're all different. Sometimes a "blockbuster" is right up my alley, but most times they really aren't!
I've been watching for copies of The Help to come through the library's used book sale ever since the movie came out. I really do want to read it, but I'm on a tight budget and at least I know the three or four dollars they'll ask for it will go towards new books.
I don't read a lot of the popular lit fic, but every now and then something will interest me. However, I usually end up reading those months and sometimes even years after they come out.

Not as small as you think!

My name is Melissa...I'm a big cozy fan, too! So many books and way to little time. I pretty much live and breath mysteries (since I write 2 different mystery series)! It's really cool to see so many people who love cozies, and here on Goodreads, to see so many people who just LOVE books.
I'm in North Texas just outside of Dallas.

Welcome, Melissa! Loved your first Magical Dressmaking book. Looking forward to the next one in a couple of weeks!

I'm almost done with this one and really like it!

Welcome! I too love both your series and was very happy to hear another Lola book was coming. :)

This looks like a great group. I look forward to learning more about this wonderful, new-to-me genre.
