Hi! My name is Jackie and I'm from North Carolina. I also have a new Kindle and am loving it! Mysteries and fantasies are my favorite genres, and cosies are a particular favorite. I was pleased to find this group as I'm always looking for new authors and series.

Hi, I'm Amy Lynn. I live in Independence, MO (just down the street from KC - literally). Have always loved mysteries from the time I picked up my first Encyclopedia Brown. I moved on to Trixie, Nancy, the Hardy Boys, and its been a love affair ever since. I actually read EVERYTHING. My son just hit middle school & we recently realized that even though he's really well read, he didn't have much in the way of mysteries. I think he's read more than he realizes, but its been a great chance for me to get back to one of my dearest loves as I find some appropriate for him. (He's finishing up Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series so its not comprehension but content that worries me.) Anyway, reading through some in order to find those appropriate for him has been a blast & reminded me of my love of cozies. I'm thinking I'll get him started on one of those series that feature cats or recipes of some type...maybe dogs. Those are three things he's pretty into.
Anyhow, here's hoping to pass on one of my favorite past times... a good mystery, a good cup of tea/cocoa, and a comfy place to snuggle up & relax.

Hello! I'm Michelle, I just signed up for Goodreads and cozy mysteries are a staple in my life. The following are a few of my favorite detectives: Hamish Macbeth, Beatrix Potter (Susan Wittig Albert) Adam Dalgliesh, Armand Gamache, Miss Magdalena Yoder, and there's a few cats, dogs, ghosts in there somewhere.
Hi, Michelle. So glad to know someone else who likes Inspector Gamache. I really like Hamish Macbeth and Agatha Raisin. (MC. Beaton), but have read all of them and most of the Adam Dalgliesh, too. Magalena Yoder series gets a little repetitive after a while and not so fun anymore. I am looking for a new series similar to Hamish or Gamash if you know of any..
I haven't found anyone I like as much as Gamache and Macbeth, however I am on a children's book hunt and have been reading childhood classics (especially ones I missed the first time around), so I have put aside my mysteries and have been focused on that. There are several samples of authors I've never tried before, waiting in queue on my kindle, like Dorothy Sayer, Charles Finch, and Ann CLeeves, but I believe they're more like Christie than Beaton or Penny.

I'm a big Susan Wittig Albert fan, but I'm a devotee of her China Bayles series. Finished my first Hamish MacBeth book yesterday. I don't usually care for that type of British mystery, but it wasn't bad. I used to read the Magdalena Yoder books, but grew tired of her "wailing"! Sometimes made me wonder if Ms. Myers actually knew the real meaning of the word wail! You'll get lots of new recommendations around here!

Oops. Guess I forgot to say that I am Toni and have been hooked on mysteries since about grade 5, when I found one of Agatha Christie's mysteries in a magazine. With the help of a friend, we managed to acquire and read every one of her books, even those written under a pen name. Nice to about new series and authors.

Hi All!I've been a Goodreads member for about a year and a half. I'm an active member of the Mystery,Crime and Thrillers Group and I'd like to find out more about the cozy mystery genre.
I have seen some folks from the other group here as well, so I know I'm not alone!
I retired last year after 34 years of teaching and I'm loving the time I have to read now. I also listen to mysteries on audiobooks because I love to knit. I hate to choose between knitting and reading!
My husband loves thrillers and we listen to those when we are driving to visit our adult children.
I hope to learn more about cozy mysteries from this group. I'm looking forward to it!!
