I wondered about you. I have some family in Addison, AL, who weathered things okay, but they're still without power. Their local supermarket & Walmart were destroyed. The devastation is so sad to see.

Kari, how great that you're OK, and how frightening it must have been to be so close to the destruction. Reading can be such a good escape from the stress around you. Too bad you were limited to daylight reading. Might be time to look into an ereader with nighttime view? (and keep the battery charged! :-)

I just joined Goodreads and am thrilled to see so many people excited about books! I look forward to getting to know you and being exposed to new mysteries.

Hi Robin! Welcome! Do you know if your book is going to be published as ebook? I'm waiting for it ;)

Marisa - I'm pretty sure it will be published as an ebook, but I don't know when.
Peace Y'all,
-Robin

I recently finished writing my first book, a cozy mystery, of course, and signed with a U.S. agent. My book is CREAM WITH YOUR COFFIN and features an American amateur sleuth, Lucy Beam.
I live in Saskatoon, Canada, with my husband, our three kids, and a beagle. I work half-time at the University of Saskatchewan as an event planner.
I'm looking forward to chatting with you!

I'm Diana and new to the genre of Cozy Mysteries.
Looking forward to learning more about the books and their authors.

Like you, I'm new to the group. I've been reading cozies for years. Last night after reading a thriller that had some awful torture scenes, I decided that my next read is definitely going to be a cozy. Welcome!

Hi Bobbi,
Thanks for the Welcome. I went this morning(well, really yesterday morning now) to get a cozy from the library. I'm finding it so hard to put it down. I just have to find out how this book is going to end. Having a great time !!! (Reading - "Mint Juleps,Mayhem, and Murder By Sara Rosett).
Hi Diana! Welcome! I hope you enjoy the group. And I'm thinking about the cozy you're reading for may mini-challenge ;)

I'm doing my honours year in archaeology, so I've been busybusy and had little time for books until recently. Now that I'm back to powering through books and poking around Goodreads, I realized I haven't read too many cozies despite my love for them and barely had any on my to-read list either, so I decided to rectify the situation immediately by joining this community. Looking forward to reading and chatting about great books with everyone!

Sherry
Welcome to Diana and Hannah.
Hannah: As a student of archeology, have you read the Gideon Oliver series by Aaron Elkins? Seem right up your alley!

Hi Marisa, Thanks for the Welcome. The cozy will fit the challenge perfectly.

Hi Hannah, A Big "Hello" from Texas!!!

Heather, I've actually just started Little Tiny Teeth! I just realized it's actually Book #14, but never mind. It definitely appeals to my nerdy side. Reading about stressed PhD students does make me wonder what I'll be like in a few years' time, though. :P
Hi Jennifer, it's nice to meet a fellow Aussie! I've ordered from bookdepository.com a few times myself; it's a real life saver (or well, money saver), isn't it? It's impossible to find reasonably priced books in Australia, and now even all the local Borders are closing. Thank goodness Book Depository has free shipping!

Hi Elizabeth: Welcome! I agree with you about Agatha Christie and M.C. Beaton. Divine! I like the Agatha Raisin series a bit more than the Hamish MacBeth.

Hello Elizabeth and Chistina! Welcome! I'm sure that, with this group, there's no lack of ideas ;)

Start building more shelves now and avoid the rush. We've all had to do it; it's your turn!

My name is Jean and I just found Goodreads.com about two weeks ago. I love to read, and especially look mysteries and thrillers. I like Faye and Jon Kellerman, Stephen White, Dan Brown, and Steve Berry for starters! I sometimes review my fave books on Hubpages.com, to be found under my own name, or Google my name with the title of a book in my list of books read here! I hope to meet more of the community!

Hannah, on that tour, I shared a hotel room with Rhys Bowen. She's a true sweetie. I really enjoyed my time with her, and she was very unassuming and friendly for a bestselling author. I, too, am a fan of Her Royal Spyness series, and now I'm even more of a fan of Rhys herself!
Clare, since Nancy Atherton, the author of the Aunt Dimity series, and I share a hometown, I've met her, too, and she's another sweetie. (Frankly, most mystery authors are!)
Christine, I, too, like the cozy-mystery website. Two others that are useful are:
Lists of mystery authors and their series in order, by state, etc:

Lists of Agatha Award nominees and winners:

Elizabeth, we share a name, and Anne, you have the same name as my daughter. Welcome to you all!
