This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For | 949 comments Here is that book on Amazon with that ISBN. You can also find that same book/ISBN on a few other, more obscure sites: GetTextBooks and Paperback Swap.

I think the problem is the book is rather obscure (published by the Handicraft Association of Nepal) so it's not necessarily in things like the Library of Congress.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments ISBN for that book came up as Rs60.00

Actually, that's an LCCN, not an ISBN -- ISBNs always use either 10 or 13 numbers and no letters. We don't have a place in the GR record to put LCCNs.

I couldn't help but notice that in the actual book (I own a copy) the ISBN# is not listed.

Not all books, even recent ones, are printed with ISBNs. Sometimes the publisher will retroactively claim an ISBN for that book, which is probably what's happened here with the ISBN that NTMichael found.

Should I use the ASIN instead of giving an ISBN, or should I use the one listed on the LCC page for the book, even though nothing comes up when you search it there?

ASINs are generally only useful for Kindle editions of books, because they point only to Amazon entries.

It's okay to leave the field entirely blank if there isn't any ISBN for a particular edition.

This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For | 949 comments I actually found them by simply doing a Google search for the ISBN you provided. Doesn't always work, but will sometimes help confirm/reject oddities.

Sandra | 31506 comments Rasha, I take it Aunt Safiyya & the Monastery (2 editions) is a different book to the first book listed in your post.

I have separated them.

Please check that this is correct.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments I think the problem we're having here is that these are the same authors: Bahaa Taher and بهاء طاهر.

To be combined, the primary author has to be the same author profile. Since we don't yet have the feature for making two different author profiles the same, I will set بهاء طاهر as the primary author and combine the books.

Rasha writes: "ispite of that there are 3 ISBN !"

Rasha, when a book is printed in a new edition, each edition has a new ISBN. A popular book will have many ISBNs as it is reprinted and translated.

Actually, some of them were already combined under Bahaa Taher. Everything should be combined correctly now, but some are under one primary author and some are under the other. Does this look right, combination-wise? Does anyone have any further suggestions?

Niledaughter | 93 comments Thanks , I think now everything is in order as much as it can be so far , right ? :)
I did the combination myself & edited the author’s both pages & books after this discussion :
http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/3...
So I will continue with the only Arabic books I know that they have a translation with any other Latin language ,so everything is ok ?
