To combine or not to combine...?

It looks like that's what's been done for this book:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/21...
and should be done for the others as well.

If you type in Kenzaburo Oe you are led to the incorrect one, or rather the incomplete one.
But if you type Kenzaburō Ōe, you find the real Kenzaburo. Now either someone needs to sort out the disambiguation of the two, combine, or delete.
Please help?

Please , I want more details about this subject , that I want to combine this book
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/89...
with its Arabic translation
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/76...
the author has two pages , one with her name in Latin letters , and the other with Arabic letters , so what should I do exactly ?
Thando, I think I got it worked out, mostly.
Rasha, the usual workaround for that is to have the Latin spelling listed first on all editions, and the Arabic one in the second author slot for all the Arabic editions. That allows the editions to be combined but for people to find the author.

I will try to do it :)
anther question , Can the two pages of the author be combined together , I mean ; can it be arranged so that the latin letters written name & the Arabic one be reformatted so they would lead to the one page with double language data ?

I find that the problem with the Kenzaburo Oe, is that when you search for him you NEED to appy the specific characters Kenzaburō Ōe, otherwise you can't find him using a normal keyboard that types: Kenzaburo Oe.
Is there anyway to solve this?

I got it & saw Cait's example , but For not making any mistakes & to be sure , is this general ?
I mean if the original book is the Arabic one , should the 1st author name be the Arabic or the English one on the English version ? , in other words should I fix the Arabic or the English book’s data in this case ?
For the idea of combing an author’s multiple languages web pages with translated name into one (the manual speaks only about Latin spelling),so that all fans & news be in one place , is it impossible ?
Right now it's impossible, but we have been promised an "aka" (also known as) feature that will make it possible. Unfortunately, it's not clear when we'll get it, as the programming to enable it is proving quite tricky.
In general, assuming that the books have been translated into English, we have been putting the Latin spelling first. Of course, of the books only exist in Arabic, there's no need to have an English version of the author at all.

I got this Portuguese edition of I am Legend, which includes 5 other Matheson stories. It is currently combined with other editions of the novel, but I wonder: should it?
The question can be generalized: what's the policy regarding combining editions that do not have the same contents?

It appears yours should be separated, but since it has the same title, you should add a librarian note after separating. Post back here if you need any help!

Since I'm new to the librarian role, I don't want to screw it up so I thought I'd send you all a msg of "help". This one is frustrating me!

I almost always would, yes. It does depend on whether extra material is profuse perhaps.

"Scythe" is now fixed. Both versions of M.K. Mancos's name were wrong that's why you couldn't combine. I'm amazed I hadn't noticed before as I have several of her books, including Scythe.

the first one is the same book expanded , what should be done ?
and
C.S. ルイス
Same author. In japanese editions there is C.S. ルイス... But I think we should combine it.
