"How does a relatively smart sixteen-year-old girl get stuck in a sucky situation she can't get out of?"

Is it odd that the next two books in her Ruined series start with the exact same sentence? Well, one is, "My name is..." and the other is "Hi, my name is..." I wonder if she even noticed.
