lol same

?..."
it"s in reply to the question asked "does anyone beside me hates harry potter?"

Yes telling me to screw myself is just as mature and intelligent as calling Kayla a moron.
I don't agree with her comment that HP fan's are idiots, because I myself enjoyed the books. You are being mean spirited, and you've cemented my belief in that by saying that I am yelling at you, when I am not. I am just stating my opinion on the immaturity of name-calling. Which you've proved by your own statements.
P.S. I'll go screw myself now, at least that will make me smile!! HAH Lighten up, I'm sure we'll all miss you when you're gone!

That goes for the creator of this discussion topic. If you don't care for a book, great! But elaborate on why you don't like the ...."
totally agree!!Harry Potter is the stepping stone for books like twilight,TMI,THG....it's been one of my best friends all these years!!:]

LOL! But I actually DO love Twilight."
Honestly, there's always one who jumps ahead of the rest of the class ;D
Wow, been a while since I've been able to pop on here!
Well Kimberley, even though I've nothing against you not liking HP, I'll answer your question.
*stands up* Hi, my name's Hayley & I'm an HP lover (ish). I find that HP came out when I was bout to start boarding school and appealed to my (stupidly vivid) imagination with the 1st book of magic and trolls in bathrooms and flying motorbikes.
The writing was a bit simple to begin with but, as I was 11, it didn't matter to me too much. I had HP to curl up with in a corner when I couldn't stand the girls in my dorm at school and then I just had to carry on reading these books once more came out. I love big, long books (and if it's following a school year it's gonna be long!) It was a case of an 11 yr old falling in love with the world that it created, not caring too much about the writing style etc.
Hope this is somewhat helpful.

I truly dont know how you can survive that ammount of extensive brain damage.

Kimberley - yeah I think I rambled a bit - what I was trying to say was that I orig fell in love with it for what it offered story wise for me, not the writing style or other things that, as an 11 yr old, I didn't give 2 hoots about.

1. Horribly boring
2. Weird/bad writing
3. Undetailed
4. Weak characters I didn't care about
5. Sad problems/solutions
6. Went on forever
I think Kimberly wrote that; sry but this reply stuff is getting ridikulus. :)
Anyway, 1st of all its very greatly detailed; the 1st like 2 chapters of all of them were like 90% detail.
2nd of all, sad problems and solutions? well thats usually what happens in a war.
3rd of all, went of forever? hardley. what about all those other books that have like 50 of them in a series?
Lastly (sorry im kinda writing a book report here), if you really pay attention, the entire series is totaly planned out. There are questions asked in the earlier books that arent answered until several books later. There are things that are mentioned in one book that isnt brought up again until 2 or 3 books later. Its like J K rowling knew Exactly what she was going to do from the moment she started the book. I've read it so many times i've even found some mistakes, that may have been intentional or maybe not. Its like one of the most complicated book series ever, from a writers point of view. I'd bet a million bucks that no person (who isnt an author) on this website could write somthing as good.

Well said. Until last year I didn't re-read any of the first three books because I kind of brushed them off as "pre-exciting HP," and boy was that a mistake. I re-read them with the intention of seeing whether there were hints to Snape's true role in Harry's Life. THERE WERE. FROM BOOK 1... and they are far too well done to be unintentional.
This woman has written a piece of work that is so ambitious that I think she should get a standing ovation for simply trying it. Fact is, she mastered her characters and her setting. She allowed for the characters to have flaws, and she did show some of her own personal faults as writer in the process, but as Kayla said, "I'd bet a million bucks that no person (who isn't an author) on this website could write something as good."
But that aside, people have the right to dislike books. They have a right to express their opinions. They even have the right to make themselves look like jacka**es by being crude. WE who like the books and are not ignorant of their contents have the right therefor to respond in kind. Boosh.

That's pretty offensive. The Harry Potter book are actually very well-written. They're not perfect. Not in the least bit. But, it is still a great series. Of course, you are entitled to your opinion. Just don't insult others while you're at it.
If there was one thing I hate about Harry Potter, it's how many of its fans say it's the greatest collection of books that have ever been written. Which is a lie. There are a million books and a million collections of books out there (I've read several) that are not only written even better, but are much more entertaining.

I agree, HP fans can go over the top. Its a good book but it's not literary genius.

That's the problem with the "knowing it all, having it all planned"...there's no surprises, no good parts, no unpredictable parts."
First of all, why were you forced to read it? and second of all, it wasnt planned out by the readers; we had to wait to see what was going to happen until the next book came out. it was planned out in J.K rowlings mind, but the readers had plenty of suprises. Also people like it when they know a little bit of what was gonna happen. Something that they can count on. If its unexpected here and there and everywhere, then its confusing.

You simply define yourself, the quality of Harry Potter hater. So interesting....:)

May I ask two questions?
1. How old are you?
2. Why aren’t you aloud to read it?

Such a good point.

Okay... Read the rest of the series, then come back here, kay?

WOW! You aren't seeing this correctly. There's more to it than that.

Agreed.

I've had a more structured discussion on similar lines in a pub. During this a friend, fueled by 18 year old Highland Park, ranted about how the BOOKS were rubbish.

"Only Good guys or truly evil people"? What about Severus? Maybe you haven't gotten to the 7th book...And Draco! Draco's not as evil as you think. He's just too much of a mama's boy to not be a death eater....

"Weak characters"...You haven't met Luna Lovegood yet, have you?

I used to type everything like that. But then I started watching Vlogbrothers videos and commenting.... You should try that!

i got a little lose, what is happening in this dissusion noe?

It is so interesting reading your comments. Your hatred against HP series seems to have blinded your judgement.
To understand why I said that is to look back at what comment I responded to. She said she hated it so much. Perhaps you can and love to read behind the text, but I prefer to respond to what was written.

YEAH KINDA SHES... CRAZY FOR HP
