Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Does anyone else besides me hate Harry Potter?

UM? kinda off-topic...... yeah vol..."
That's not off-topic. He hated Harry Potter too, not just you.
Oh gosh, nevermind, that joke went totally right by you.

"Her" who?"
Not sure. Me? You? Who knows?
When I first read Twilight I liked it...."
I haven't read the Percy Jackson's but I have been considering it. I'll probably get around to it eventually. I do highly suggest Kim Harrisons series about Rachel Morgan. It's really, really good. The first book was a little hard to get into at first but it was worth it. The character Jenks, a pixie has all sorts of hilarious sayings like "Tinks little green panties", and "Tinks a Disney whore." LOL why it cracks me up I have no idea but it's worth the read.
Also being upset the books are over doesn't make you a geek, it makes me want to the read the books! It's hard to find a story that pulls you in that deeply.

LOL yea, he really was a fun-kill.

..."
You said something about the Christopher Pike novels, that the vampires were scary but you wouldn't recommend the book. I'm not familiar with them, were they bad?

I do not care about JB and never read or watch anything related to him, except if I am watching E! I won't turn it off simply because it has JB.
My nieces agree that JB is super cute. I don't think I will understand it but I am not 9,10 or 12 years old either.

I don't like the book too. It's boring with too much details. The movie is interesting not because of the story but the graphics and stuff. I don't like it but I don't call anyone who does an idiot.

What does JB's actual age have to do with his fans ages?
I assumed you did not read the magazines or watched E!. JB fans are huge. JB young fans are about 8-12. He has lots of teenagers and older ones too. I have no idea why any adults would be his fans but I respect their opinions. Maybe they see something in JB which I don't.

"Only complete idiots would read Harry Potter"

Anyway, what topic is this book about?"
Ahh...I am so glad that you can remember the topic. Perhaps you experienced short term memory lost when you responded to my comment with..."Sorry, but he's like 17 or 18... and he sounds 11 or 12...:) "
I wonder if hatred does work that way....:)

And the answer is NO, it's only you. Duh

Anyways, I love Harry Potter :D

Besides - this goes to EVERYONE - this discussion is specifically called 'Does anyone else besides me hate harry potter?'
Well obviously the 'besides me' was implying on her. Don't be so harsh on her guys, she's giving her opinion.

We shouldn't attack each other for not liking the same things. Calling Kayla a moron is uncalled for. I may not agree with everything she says but I like discussing why people like or don't like a book. This is suppose to be an intellectual conversation, not a place to call each other names.

Exactly!!!!

I'm not upset that she had a different opinion..I'm upset she called me An Idiot.

Also I'm an HP fan, and I didn't take it personal, so why did you? It's just a book, just an opinion you may not agree with, from a person you'll never know.
I think we could all treat each other with a little more respect, but you lower yourself down by using an insult. Rise above the bait and express yourself without resorting to name calling.

I'm pretty sure, saying what you said was uncalled for but true (that Kayla is a moron) isn't a real apology.
A real apology is being sorry for saying something that is mean spirited. It doesn't matter why you said it, it doesn't matter that she called you a name first. Calling each other names is wrong. If you want to debate your reasons for liking HP, please do so. We look forward to an actual intellectual conversation.
OH, in my opinion!

Anyway... "
I responded to the number of lovers in my country and then it went as far as their ages.
I think in your case, your hatred blinded you for a while while answering mine and then said that things should stick to the topic.
So funny.

It is childish to blasphemy some readers for loving a book that way. The worst act is for anyone depending that. Way pathetic.

And the answer is NO, it's only you. Duh"
Are you speaking to the creator of this discuss..."
Yup, I'm speaking to her/him.
I hate Harry Potter but I actually liked the books, specially the third. Cheers!

When I first read Twilight I liked it. I read it in one day, but that's not saying much. I finish lots of books in one day. I liked it, I enjoyed the inner turmoil and young love. But afterwards I felt empty, I think SM did an okay job, but it could have been better.
If she'd developed the characters more and described how hot Edward was less. Small things, like throwing away a thesaurus. Often the best way to write is to be as direct as possible. Using fancy words is self-indulgent. But I have to say I agree with SM's hate of using the said. It bugs me using said, even though I do it in my own stories I always want to use the adjective to fancy it up, again making it self-indulgent. Proving that I have a high vocabulary and annoying the reader.
