Good choice, I love Leslie Meier!
Great themes. For May Flowers I will read Sleeping With Anemone .
For Mother's Day I will read Motherhood is Murder .
Love both of these series!!! I'll have to think about the horse one!

For horse books you can always turn to Dick Francis. I'd classify most all of his books as "cozy" because they aren't violent. I haven't read one of his in years, but they were always good reads. I was sorry to hear of his passing.

I'll look him up. The only horse related books that popped into my mind at first were Michele Scott's Horse Lover series. First book is called Saddled with Trouble. I love her Wine Lover's series, but haven't heard to much about this other one.
I'm coming up to the top of the list for
on PBS, so I'll be reading it! I wasn't nuts about the first one in this series, so hopefully this one will be better.

I read it last year. Gave it 3 stars, but was actually more like 2.5. The story was okay, but gardening just isn't my thing. Doesn't interest me at all.

Shannon, if you like DSD, book two of this series, French Polished Murder, will be out in May.

Absolutely!

the sleuth in this story is a mother."I read this one a few months ago and liked it even though I am not a gardener. It's the first in a new series. The main character has a fledgling gardening business. Good mystery with interesting characters. I willl look for the second one as a May read.
Trying to think of mom's who are sleuths was hard. I've decided to start with
. China Bayles is a step-mom with an herb garden. I love this series. Garden themes in my tbr:
I have the second Heather Webber mystery,
. Haven't found the first one. Should they be read in order?
Trine wrote: "I'll be reading

Nell, for sure read the Heather Webber series in order. Stuff happens between the lead and her ex-husband through out the series, not mention the incredible relationship she has with her step-son, it really grows as the series progresses. It's one of my favorite ones and I am very sorry there were only 4-5 written.
I did not think of moms as sleuths! I was looking for books with moms in the title. Good idea, as I plan to read the next Goldy book soon.
I have two unread books in the Mama series by Nora DeLoach: Mama Pursues Murderous Shadowsand Mama Pursues Murderous Shadows to read for May.I forgot about Goldy and have four in my tbr. Another single mom is Claire Malloy in a series by Joan Hess.
But first I need to read my April choice!

Of course, Nell. :-)
Looking forward to starting the books.

Nell, I have the same problem. I found the second book at HPB, but the first being out of print, it is difficult to come by. If you don't mind reading online, in searching on the title and author, I found the first available at Google Books.
A Hoe Lot of Trouble
It's ridiculous what some of the used book sites want for a copy of this book. Anywhere from $12 up to $300!

Thanks Heather. I checked it out and found a preview on Google books with links to where you can buy it. I've been scouring used book stores for months looking for book one. The on-line listing start around $20 (s & h included). It's made me consider getting a Kindle sooner rather than later - download is $5.99.

If you don't mind reading at the computer or you have an iPhone or a Blackberry, you can buy it for reading there.
But here you can find the books quite cheap: Iberlibro

I continually check Amazon, but come up with nothing. Davidson used to have a great web-site, but now it seems the publisher provides it and it is not nearly as interesting or detailed. I really miss the old website as I am a big Goldy fan. As for May theme read, I think I will begin with the first Katherine Hall Page
, as I have always wanted to start this series.

I am not sure where you have tried. But I have found that Half.com has a good selection of book to purchase.

Hey there. Have you tried Half.com? I have checked and they are selling a paperback copy regular print for 4.79 plus shipping.

I saw it on Half.com this morning but when I clicked to buy it was no longer available. I will check the library - though I prefer not to have a return date on the books I read. Or I may try to download and read it on my computer. Thanks for that idea Marisa.

You are so right about her "new" website, it rather "sucks" (pardon my language).
The Faith Fairchild series by Katherine Hall Page is a good "older" series as it started in 1989. I need to catch up with Faith as I have only read through book #15 (there are 18). I have liked the series and Faith's character does grow as time goes on.
I am going to read Mother's Day Murder and Dearly Depotted. I have really enjoyed the Kate Collins sereis.
This looks like fun! Here's what I'm going to try for this month...1. May Flowers: Trouble in Spades by Heather Webber
2. Horses: Saddled with Trouble by Michele Scott
3. Mother's Day:
I just finished the Yasmine Galenorn book and really liked it.
I think I am going to try the Mother's Day book. If I get time I will try another. Mother's Day: Ghost of a Chance by Yasmine Galenorn
