Bookworms | 43 comments I started with the first book a few weeks ago and what should I say? It's amazing and very good series. I love it. The idea of the series is so good and the characters are also. Very nice and very good.

Ladyacct | 65 comments One of my favorite series, hands down.

I much prefer these covers! Maybe these are the UK ones only?

Looking forward to reading these books as I hear good things.

Regina (reginar) I definitely prefer the new covers!

Yes, I think they're only available in the UK or through bookdepository.com.

message 8: by Toni (new)

Toni Do not love this series like I do others for some reason(Fever, BDB, Chicagovamps). I have only read book 1 so hopefully I will change my mind with book 2.

message 9: by Ladyacct (new)

Ladyacct | 65 comments Toni, there is less romance and more story in these books, plus you here from all parties including 'bad guys'.

In my opinion Mine to Posses and Branded by Fire are the best of these stories (at least romance wise). Don't give up hang in there, it really is a very good series and develops more as you read along.

message 12: by Bookworms (new)

Bookworms | 43 comments I read book 4 about Clay at the moment and it's very good. But I don't like Tally.

message 13: by Literary Ames (new)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 276 comments I didn't like Tally that much either but her past is really sad.

I've just finished Hostage to Pleasure. I'm glad Dorian finds peace and happiness, he totally deserved it. I liked Shaya more than Tally but less than Brenna, Sascha and Faith.

message 14: by Ladyacct (new)

Ladyacct | 65 comments I liked Tally, for someone who was deserted, raped and almost murdered all before the age of eight....it was a remarkable character.

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 276 comments Ladyacct wrote: "I liked Tally, for someone who was deserted, raped and almost murdered all before the age of eight....it was a remarkable character."

She was definitely tough to still be able to function after all she'd been through.

message 16: by Ladyacct (new)

Ladyacct | 65 comments My favorite part of the book was when Tally realized she was 'broke' and Clay was with her. I feel this romance above most others show how the couple was less apart than they are together and the fact that they were children when they met just makes it more in my opinion.

message 17: by Laura (last edited Aug 04, 2010 06:46PM) (new)

Laura (lanilani) Tally irritated me half the time, and a lot of pitying too. What saved her as a heroine for me is her love and devotion to the children; Jon sweet-talked her to me *snickers*

Brenna, Sophie, Mercy, Faith, Sascha, Shaya, Tally, Katya ... even Indigo--with her unpublished book--already occupies a high rank in my list of fav heroines.

Wonder what future couples have already been hinted at. . . besides Hawke and Sienna that is (and whoever Kit ends up with after being dumped--obviously) :P

There's Rina and Jon; Noor and Keenan (yeah, I know, too young still); Andre Tulane (nikita's employee) and Amberleigh Bouvier? (his human interest); ...Kaleb ? ? and his mysterious 'quarry' ? ? yeah, I'm looking forward to some Council-love. Also Vasic, I need more male psy s to drool over, though Judd is a tough act to follow ^_^

Grammy 1 | 16 comments who is the other mystery person who is helping our psy???the one meeting at the church giving info???called the ghost

message 19: by Ladyacct (new)

Ladyacct | 65 comments None of us readers know yet...but I imagine Nalini knows <=..=>

message 20: by Laura (new)

Laura (lanilani) oh yeah, that's another possible story. Xavier, the priest, and his lover -- can't remember her name -- she escaped by throwing herself in the river and he's never seen her ever since.

message 21: by Grammy (new)

Grammy 1 | 16 comments ladyacct and all posters

What are your ideas on who the Ghost is????

message 22: by Laura (new)

Laura (lanilani) First time I read about him (book 3) I actually believed him to be Judd, but then unless he turns out to be schizophrenic or something like that, Judd is not the Ghost.
I read somewhere that the Ghost could be Kaleb. It would make sense if he were, we know they are both looking something/someone for years, and it would justify Kaleb's constants points of views (besides being an interesting lethal psy hunk) :p
It can't be Vasic, because, as he told Dorian, he is tired of death, life itself. . . but it could be a fellow Arrow, and that way it would explain how he knew to recruit Judd (since we know Judd doesn't know who the Ghost is, wouldn't know how to look him up to help him out, IMO).
I'm out of ideas.

Oh, these covers are much better! The other ones are so cheesy. This is definitely a series you can't judge a book by the cover (when looking at the other ones)!

It's one of the better paranormal romance series. Singh does a terrific job with highly original world building, engrossing storylines, appealing characters, and very nice romance.

message 25: by Laura (last edited Sep 07, 2010 03:53PM) (new)

Laura (lanilani) I lost count of how many time I've re-read the Guild Hunter series so far. It's too good, Nalini does magic in her writing. I'm willing to bet she could write about cars or pocket change (something boring), and it'll be awesome :D

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2569 comments Just finished the first book . . . Singh's world builing skills amaze me!! I feel so evil for putting off this series for so long.

While the immediate attraction of the two main characters put me off, I liked (view spoiler)

Alos, I just new it! (view spoiler)

message 29: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) The series gets better and better, Shera. I initially had a hard time getting into the book because of the futuristic world building but then Singh used on of my all time favorite tropes (view spoiler) and I was hooked.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2569 comments Ha-ha! The futuristic world was what kept me off this one as well. Though, her Guild series is also set in a futuristic world so I should have never doubted her.

message 31: by MadameZelda (new)

MadameZelda Any suggestions on which series to read first? Guild Hunters? Psy-changeling?

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2569 comments Neither series effects the other, so I'd say go with which ever one interests you the most.

I went with Guild Hunters first.

message 33: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) They are completely independent of one another. I went with the Psy-Changeling first. Just keep in mind that their are currently 12 books in the series while Guild Hunters has 5 published and 8 planned.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2569 comments Oh, that's true. I only read the first book of Guild Hunters because I'm waiting for more to come out.

Pys-changelings has more out so I'll be crunching down on them pretty fast.

message 35: by J.W. (new)

J.W. Ellis (jwellis) | 184 comments Oh yes fully addicted to the Psy-Changling series, my friend had the first 10 on her nook and I started them, and now Im on like the 6th one in less than two weeks.

Vaughn and Dorian are still my favorite shifters, but I do love the wolves, and Judd was hot for Iceman

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2569 comments I ended up binge reading to Book 4 Mine to Posses. It really does get better and better with each book. Even starting to read all the short stories in between.

There are 6 Guild Hunter books out so far - plenty to make a start. You could wait years if u want too many more.

7 is my magic number. So I don't have too long to wait for . . .

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2569 comments Currently reading Shards of Hope. I love how innocent and sweet this one feels.

Plus, it's a good startup for the next arc.

I'm very curious as to whether RainFire will be visited more. I think it would be cool to see a changeling pack starting up.

message 40: by MadameZelda (new)

MadameZelda I have shelved Tangle of Need (Psy-Changeling, #11) by Nalini Singh and hope to one day get back to it. I apologize to all the Psy-Changeling fans, but it is so boring! I can't get into the characters.

message 41: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Chanticleer (rachelchanticleer) | 44 comments I held off on the first one for a long time because I didn't think I'd go for it, but the world building was done really well and I ended up loving it.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2569 comments It's OK Zelda! Hmmmm, I think I loved that one because the romance was very different from the mated storyline. Bummer.

I do too Rachel. It saddens me when I read reviews where they want less world building! That's what makes these books so good, especially because the couple are entrenched in it. The world shapes the romance just as much as their love. Blah-blah. It's one of the reasons that I faithfully stick with this series.

I tend to prefer PNR's that are lighter on the world building but Singh is just so darn good at it! I've become more of a fan of books written this way since reading Slave to Sensation.

I adore the Guild Hunter series. But in Psy-Changeling, there's so many characters that I've become lost. It's the same with The Argeneau Vampires by Lynsay Sands; so many characters and I don't who is who anymore.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2569 comments I used to read some lighter PNR, but I get bored fast.

She has a character guide at the beginning and Wicked Scribes has an amazing character guide that let's you really brush up on who everyone is.

Though Singh is usually pretty good at giving little hints out to who everyone is. I will admit it takes me a moment/look up to realize who someone is. There are a lot of characters.

I commend anyone who remembers who everyone is!
