what i loved is that we got to see kate's past and after hearing it im very interested for more. i cant wait for kate and roland's showdown.
I am glad you liked Magic Strikes Mariya. There were some really memorable bit in it- bath scene and the dinner invitation and Derek- and I loved the setting of the arena. You should read Andrea and Rapheals short story in
, I am sure it is called Magic Mourns, but I can't remember!
Finished Magic Strikes today and it was sooo good! Hot tub rules! ;)The last 30 or so pages I just kept praying the train didnt arrive at my destination too soon because I just HAD to finish haha.
I am ghlad you enjoyed it Bianca, I LOVE Magic Strikes, for me the best book so far, although ofcourse I love Magic Bleeds as well! But for me the whole idea of Magic Strikes with the arena and the hot tub and the naked dinner, so much fun!
haha. i knoe magic strikes was amazing. i loved the hot tub scene. so hot! i also loved the phone call when kate calls curran to tell him that she's running off wit jim and to stop wit the breaking in her house and him telling her that she's scared to get into a relationship hinting into the naked dinner...hahaha. i loved that.
I just finished Magic Strikes too! I really loved it best of all the books. I cannot wait to read more. I thought that this advanced the subplot of her parentage really well too. :o)
Got chest much? This girl is too pretty and has overblown assets. The covers of the other books had Kate just right.
They shoudl have kept with the other model, she looked more exotic. Although from what I can see of her boots I like them!
Oh no! Don't show me that stuff! I so badly want to rea dit but then I will want it more and still ahve to wait!
haha. I can't resist. I think that she has gave us a lot of snippets and I don't want any more, but I can't resist Curran and Kate.
There are 4 realy good postings recently by Ilona -- 2 POVs from Curran's POV that are right after Magic Bleeds ends and 2 "if Curran, Jim and Kate cout use Twitter what would they Tweet?". They are all realy good.
Suzanne -- there are 4 posts total. The links are in the SOS group thread for the Kate Daniels series, let me pull it for you ... http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/3...Check out posts 91, 92 and 95.
I just read them all! I loved the tweets! That was funny. Is their another part of Curran's POV from when he is talking to Mahon?
Yes, there are 2 -- check out the thread and the posts I list above. There is a POV from when he wakes up.
I read that one, I meant is their third as he asks Kate to leave so he can talk to Mahon, I was just wondering what he said to him.I can't wait for the new book to come out! I may have to reread the series in preparation!
Oh sorry I misunderstood! No -- but I would love to read that convo! What I love about these POVs is that it shows they are thinking about every angle when they write these books. I can't wait for Magic Slays either and right now I am really jonesing for Lover Unleashed (yes different series, but I want some brothers).
I like seeing a different view of the same events, especially Curran's, but yeah, I love the world they have created I think it is unique the whole idea of having waves of technology and magic where pretty much anything can happen, I love it. Oh they are two of the four books I am looking forward to the most this year! Magic Slays, Lover Unleashed, Night Huntress #5 and The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen.
I have just read the first and can't believe I put it off for so long :( Though I was left with many questions and didn't really understand it by the end, I don't feel it was a waste of time and I will be carrying on with the series :D
I read the first one not long ago. I wasn't wowed, but I also wasn't put off either. I look forward to reading the next one, but I'm not champing at the bit to do so. I'll get to it eventually. lol
The first one left me with a bunch of questions (especially because the reasoning behind who takes the fall after something goes wrong is left out...), but the second one is so much better. It's amazing. By the third book, I was hooked, and now I'll read anything the Andrews' duo puts out, no matter how skeptical I am about the premise. Their writing is just that good.
I agree Lia. the first one was way underwhelming! It left too many things unanswered. The second one was tons of fun. The third one was the best because Kate finally becomes a character. We get a full story on her.
Victoria wrote: "Ilona Andrews posted a Christmas Present to her Kate Daniels fans."This is great, a FREE novella. But it only lasts 2 weeks!
oh really thanks for the heads up
Gunmetal is up!! I'm not creating a new thread for it since the authors state it is part of the Kate Daniels universe so that the next story arc can happen. What did you think of Andrea Nash as a lead? Personally I've been buzzing with joy with a book about her. Was she just as amazing as you though she would be? Did you not like her?

Ohhhh.... Jim Butcher and Kim Harrison are my favorite authors, so after reading some of these books I realize that this is right up my alley! Look forward to this reading challenge! hehehe
Its freaking awesome! I had to read it really slow to soak it in, because we don't get another Kate book until next year. :( You really get into Andrea's POV in this.
I read the excerpts and it's more interesting than her novella. I had trouble with that. It's not a true KD book, but I'll take whatever I can get of them. I will try to read slowly too!
@Theresa, yeah it is more interesting than the novella. I ended up reading them both together which was cool because the timelines cross over and there are scenes from them both, but from different POVs.It really came across to me the feeling of Andrea that infused the writing style, Its definitly not a Kate book, its Andrea's all the way.
Have fun with it
Hanne wrote: "Just finished the first chapter. I have a feeling I am going to love this book!"I started reading it this week. So far so good, but I do miss Kate.
loved Magic Mourns. I am glad Andrea and Raphael are getting their own book. I haven't read it yet but hoping their is a HEA.
Just finished it and loved it. I always wondered about Andrea and her choices after the events of book #4. Loved all the other characters that showed up and how Andrea views them. I hope we see more of Roman in the books to come (he went from small bit player to interesting by the end).
Just finished Gunmetal Magic. Loved it. Perfect title since Andrea is badass when it comes to her guns.
I enjoyed reading Gunmetal Magic, mostly because I loved being back in the KD world. Andrea is definitely a badass, but she's no KD! I really enjoyed the small moments with Kate & Curran!
I enjoyed Gunmetal Magic more than I thought I would. I wasn't sure that Andrea could carry a book, but I found it a fun read.(view spoiler)
Can't wait for the next Kate book! This is one of my absolute favourite series!!
