Just finished and loved
, it will be releasing soon. Heidi, it's a fiction about psychics and the people who wish to manipulate their skills for their benefit.
Heidi (up to no good) wrote: "Ahhh sounds interesting Pragya!"It is. You must read it. Releases Feb 19. Maybe you have read other books by Kiersten White? This was my first read by her.

Hello again everyone. I've been quietly sitting in the Naughty Corner reading
, which I finished up in the wee hours of the morning (after being woke up at 4am and not being able to go back to sleep). I must say I REALLY enjoyed this book! Maybe it's been awhile since I've read any sci-fi (so long that the term 'sci-fi' is probably outdated), but this was a refreshing change of pace for me. And even though I'm paying the price of not being able to return to sleep (I'm on lunch at work as I type this), I'm torn as to what to read next. Considering my banishment, I should be reading
now. I did start it, and the writing is beautiful, but I'm having a tough battle with depression at the moment and this might not be the best book for me to read right now. I'll keep working at it, but I'm now greatly curious what is going to happen next aboard the Godspeed and am probably going to jump right in to
next. It was also refreshing to get a whole story in one book of a trilogy that didn't leave you hanging, yet left me anxious to know what happens next. Thumbs up to Across the Universe!
Went to my schools book fair and bought Cinder by Marissa Meter
The Dead and the Buried by Kim Harrington
And my own copy of beautiful creatures which i read already!
I have to get started ( already started TDATB)

I really have to read the sequel :) Good luck with the depression Lloyd, might want to skip The Book Thief for now, it has a lot of darkness in it, although really it's a story about the goodness in people. But better to wait until you're ready for it. Enjoy the sequel to Across the Universe and I hereby free you from Naughtyville! (I'm not sure if I have that power, but I thought I'd try!)

Well done Rissa!! You'll have to finish Cinder so you can read Scarlet, it comes out in a few days!

Reading
and am underwhelmed so far. There's nothing horrible about it but I'm also not connecting to it despite my love of faith struggles and dance movies.Listening to
and I am so confused. Which isn't bad just confusing.
Lloyd, having just finished Shades of Earth
I'd stay aboard the Godspeed. Since
is our March group read, and it's 4 weeks away, I think Heidi will give you a "get out of the naughty corner" card for the next 4 weeks at least. ;-PI loved The Shades of Earth, so I vote to let you continue that journey!!

Bluemoon wrote: "I totally forgot what happened in Legend, I need to remember that one first before I actually try to read prodigy."I just finished Prodigy, it was pretty good. I'd forgotten what'd happened in Legend too, but Lu does a decent job of blending the past events into the current story.

Hey I wasn't the one who even brought up the naughty corner -- that was David's warped mind!

I think I'll like
. It's just supposed to be strange and well...it is. I've finished the other book (whew) and started a book I've really been looking forward to (yay for that, stupid blogging responsibilities)
. I'm kinda liking that the snowy Saturday gives me a valid excuse not to leave the apartment.
Heidi (up to no good) wrote: "How is the new job/place going Cassi?? What is that October Daye series -- urban fiction??"New job is still going well! Feel like I'm getting the hang of it (though it's a bit of a mental ADD fest to jump between 5 facebooks, 4 twitters, and 2 facilities for work at times). I like Louisville even though I've seen very little of it.
Yeah October Daye is urban fantasy. The first book is the weakest but after that they get better with each installment. And they don't have the typically terrible urban fantasy covers.
Heidi (up to no good) wrote: "Ummm you are not supposed to tell everyone it was your plan David! That is what makes it evil!"OH man, I knew I wasn't cut out for this evil villain thing...

Wow I can barely keep up with just Goodreads!
Sounds like the Kate Daniels UF series -- first book is the weakest.

I have a calendar that I made about when I'm supposed to post on which facebook about which events.
I haven't read the Kate Daniels series. I think it's a good sign when an author's first book is the weakest. It means they're improving and not just rushing through books to get them done.
Heidi (up to no good) wrote: "Melodie wrote: "Just started

Get to it then, girl!! All 3 series are excellent!
I don't think you'd like the Shatter Me books, Heidi. I was not a fan of the first book ... too much insta-love and the writing drove me nuts.
You might like Legend, though. I thought the first book was pretty good; I have yet to read the second one.

I'm glad you liked it, Vered. That series is almost universally loved here.

I guess I was one of the few left unimpressed by
. I guess my mind has a strange line of unbelievability that this book crossed. Not so much with the plot, but with things like (what was his name...Day?) physical prowess, etc. I also remember having to check the chapter headings a lot, because the voice of the two main characters was pretty similar. All in all, it left me pretty flat. Plus, the "romance" in many of these books just hits me wrong. It even happened in
,where a first kiss just seemed to inappropriate and ill-timed. Rushed. Maybe I'm too old-fashioned. :)Another weekend is blurring by. I'm spending a lot of it out at the park, letting my son enjoy the outdoors and playing with kids his age. (Tough for him to be an only child - and six - in a household with parents who find entertainment in reading. But I try!)
Well, I'm almost done with The Knife of Never Letting Go and I'm just not loving it. Sorry! It's more of my not being crazy about dystopians than disliking the writing. I was annoyed at first with the dialect & misspelled words but got used to it after awhile. I see how it adds to the overall story. And the characters are well done. I think I just like fantasy stuff better. Please don't hate me!
