People on Goodreads have been telling me Bridget! As far as I know the Anthony Bordain book is still 25 cents and so is the Coldplay album today. I guess they are trying to steal the thunder of Google who just launched a new site and is also having sales this week.

Don't read the Jack Daniels series then Whiskey Sour (Jack Daniels Mystery, #1) by J.A. Konrath - they get pretty graphic but I like them.

Oh, Matched ... meh. I had high expectations since a lot of people said it was good. But I thought the characters were pretty dry and the world-building wasn't detailed enough.

So, I just started:

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi

I've only read the first chapter so far. I've heard pretty mixed things about this book so ... we'll see. I like the writing style; it's interesting how it has all these "cross-outs" in it. (Kind of hard to explain what I mean. It's like, the author crosses out certain things like this!) Although, I feel like it's a little ... cold, like there's not much of a personality to it. However, like I said, I've only read the first chapter. We'll see how it goes ...

I too just started and finished the first chapter and found that crossed out word thing, I have never encountered that in a book before. Though it's a new thing, I'm not completely warming upto it.

Bluemoon don't worry about the reading pace thing I don't know if it is the unexpected heat here in IL but I have been passing out (seriously passing out!) before I can even read 10 pages every night this week. I really like Angelfall so far but I have only read 90 pages in a week (I normally read 90 pages a day). Ugh!

message 2486: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments I've been the same way! I can usually read all night, but I've been super tired lately too. I am going to do some serious catching up over spring break though!!

message 2487: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
I guess I should clarify that no alcohol has been involved with my passing out! Kourtni is it hotter than blazes down in Oklahoma?

message 2488: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Haha, Heidi! I wouldn't necessarily say its hot, but I am at my happiest when its 100º outside. It is definitely warmer than it usually is in March though! Its been in the mid 80's this week.

Ugh! 100??? Doesn't it get humid as heck there? It does here. It was 86 here yesterday but at least it was not humid. The stupid mosquitos never even died off because it was so warm here this winter. I am afraid what temps we will see in July!

message 2490: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments LoL! Yes I love hot temps so I can stay in the pool/lake/ocean all summer! I suppose its a little humid here. I'm used to the humidity from living in Houston so I may not notice it as much as others. And I loathe mosquitos with all of my being!!!

Kristina (kristinalawhead) Yeah I'm actually surprised that I like it! I wasn't sure about it but I also heard really good things. It's different than I was expecting it to be. Definitely a little gruesome and graphic, which doesn't bother me but just a warning haha!

I just finished Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman Neverwhere on audio (Neil Gaiman is a fantastic narrator -- it is hard to believe he is the author) and plowed through 100 pages of Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee Angelfall last night so I only have like 45 pages left (yay!). Up next for me will be Spell Bound (Hex Hall, #3) by Rachel Hawkins Spell Bound in print (yay Kristina!) and Hold Me Closer, Necromancer by Lish McBride Hold Me Closer, Necromancer on audio.

message 2498: by [deleted user] (new)
