Vered (vered_ehsani) Just started The Lost Hero (Heroes of Olympus) - loving it!

Rolenda (len12) | 89 comments done with The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner and The Scorch Trials (Maze Runner, #2) by James Dashner .. Now almost done with The Death Cure (Maze Runner, #3) by James Dashner :)

Bridget (bridgethw) | 52 comments I just finished Finnikin of the Rock (Lumatere Chronicles, #1) by Melina Marchetta and I am officially hooked. I must read Froi of the Exiles (Lumatere Chronicles, #2) by Melina Marchetta , soon… but since I do not have a copy yet I will be reading Forever (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater , time to see what happens to Sam and Grace.
I am also listening to Wolfsbane (Nightshade #2) by Andrea Cremer .

@ Bluemoon- I cant wait to hear your thoughts on Where She Went (assuming you plan to read the next book). I liked it even more than If I Stay, I adore Adam and just wanted him to be happy.
@Rolenda- How do you like Death Cure so far? I am waiting on a copy of that too so I can finish the story. I liked the series but I think it fell a bit short of its potential so far however I have high hopes for Death Cure while I remain optimistic for Tom and Teresa too.

It's a good read all in all. At some point it's like a combination of the Hunger games' thrill and the Gone series' survival stuffs.

For me, this 3rd book is better than the Scorch Trials, but I like the Maze runner the most. (^_~)
I like Teresa for Tom :)

Agreed! One of the best "sad" novels I've ever read. Definitely a series everyone should read! :)

Lola (Reading by Lamplight) (hollylilly) I just finished The Revenant by Sonia Gensler and loved it! Great historical fiction told from the perspective of the Cherokee nation!

I started Awake at Dawn (Shadow Falls, #2) by C.C. Hunter and am totally loving it! :)

message 1858: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) I;m reading Room by Emma Donoghue and I can't stand it. I'm reading it for a book club and I want to finish so we can discuss it fully, but it's like pulling teeth to plow through it. Ugh.

message 1859: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 37 comments I just finished listening to The Son of Neptune It was ok. I thought the lost hero brought his books out of middle grade, but this second one seemed to go back to middle grade. I still loved it, but waas excited to see him move up. I'm reading Anna and the French Kiss now. Its a fun read so far

Finally finished The History of Love! Now I'm reading Forever ... at last!!!

message 1863: by Bridget (new)

Bridget (bridgethw) | 52 comments @ Brigid *Flying Kick-a-pow!*... I’m onto Forevertoo. I am looking forward to the conclusion of this story, a bit wary of the title though. What will Forever mean to Sam and Grace or Cole and Isabel?

Listening to Beauty Queens by Libba Bray , I am enjoying the reader of this audio, it happens to be the author herself Libba Bray. She sounds very animated. I think since authors know how they want their characters to come to life they have the ability to read their works into life better than a hired reader sometimes. Also the case for Maggie Stiefvater when I heard her read the prologue to Forever, she made me wish she would read me the whole book.

Also listening to Rapture of the Deep Being an Account of the Further Adventures of Jacky Faber, Soldier, Sailor, Mermaid, Spy (Bloody Jack, #7) by L.A. Meyer . For anyone into audio books I have to rave about the reader of the Bloody Jack books, she is awesome! Some readers can be so dull, but not Katherine Kellgren she is wonderful. These books are fun for the most part only minimal eye-rolling moments; they are historical fiction with adventure for the young at heart so sometimes they can be farfetched, but I go with it, just like accepting Pirates of the Caribbean for the adventure and fun that they are meant to be.

Finished Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis just in time! I got an e-mail from the library that Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins is available for Kindle lending. Yay!

Across the Universe was really good and I'm anxiously awaiting the sequel.

Glad you are getting books from the library from your Kindle!

message 1878: by [deleted user] (new)

Bluemoon - Yep. I actually really liked it and want to see what happens next. What didn't you like?

Heidi - Me too! Especially when I'm getting books that I wasn't going to shell out $10 for. I rarely re-read books so this new library lending feature is great. :)

message 1879: by [deleted user] (new)

Halfway through Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins and I have loved St. Clair from the beginning. Never thought I would like a short guy but but he is amazing. Is it wrong that I picture him as a short Rob Pattinson??? :)

Still working on Forever but I'm almost near the end ... *bites nails*

Next I'm going to read:

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

message 1882: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm also kind of picturing Kenny Wormald from Footloose. Maybe a cross between Rob and Kenny. Hmmm...

I was NOT a fan of Forever. I am tough on paranormal YA books in general though. Just not my thing.

Haha yeah, I remember you not liking it. But like you said, you don't really like paranormal at all. :P

I'm liking it so far but I can't decide whether I like it as much as the first two books or not ... I think it really depends on how it ends. At this point I have no idea what's going to happen.

Lola (Reading by Lamplight) (hollylilly) Right now, I'm reading The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making (Fairyland, #1) by Catherynne M. Valente . Took a while to get into it, but I'm loving it! :)

Bridget (bridgethw) | 52 comments I finished listening to Beauty Queens audio. It is definitely satire and my first satirical read. I do however love “stupid” comedy like Austin Powers. So I really enjoyed it. Libba Bray pokes fun at many things I find preposterous these days, and that made for a good laugh.

I also finished Forever, it was a bit slow but overall a good end to the trilogy.

I am starting to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor
and listening to Hourglass (Hourglass, #1) by Myra McEntire

Bridget's Quiet Corner (chaptersandscreens) Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
