What are you currently reading?
hahaha Kristen! Brigid doesn't get that excited about books all the time so I knew I had to check it out. That is how I found the Monstrumoloigist so maybe I will find another favorite :)
I know. I totally trust Brigid on these things. I have to look up Monstrumologist. I think I have seen that a lot and probably added it, but I can't remember my name today. Littlest bean is cutting all 4 bicuspid teeth on the top right now. Nights are killing me.
Thanks. I just discovered two more swollen white spots on the bottom, but her back molars, and one that broke through last night. So 7 total at once. I need a lot more coffee.
Kristen wrote: "Thanks. I just discovered two more swollen white spots on the bottom, but her back molars, and one that broke through last night. So 7 total at once. I need a lot more coffee."I have a very VERY vague memory of liking the taste of the teething/numbing stuff -- I don't think my earliest *actual* memory is until I was about 3 years old, the day my sister was born, but somehow I do remember liking the taste of the teething stuff. Then again, it could have just been the numbing sensation for all I know.
My doctor said the teething stuff is no longer recommended because they've had kids react poorly to the numbing (it numbed their airways). It's a rare reaction, but he's effectively scared me into not even trying. I remember it too from when we were kids! It's amazing any of us survived ;)Elora, hah! If only I were getting enough sleep to remember words. My journal would look something like: the child I can't remember the name of made me want to jump out of the clear thing inside the hole in the house leading to outside. Lol
I was at a party this past weekend, hosted by a couple we've known for years (7 maybe). Someone asked me how I knew them and I said "my husband worked with....um, with...." and stared. I couldn't remember his name. I finally had to say, "Really, I'm not crashing the party."
Perhaps this is why im having trouble with Winter? Lol

@Heidi and Kristen - Hope you guys like Abyss if you end up reading it! ;) And yes Kristen you have to read The Monstrumologist! It's very scary but very good. :D
Kristen you are making me feel spoiled here with only my two cats and hubby to take care of :) I don't know how you parents do it. When I am sick or tuckered out I am a bear! My poor fictional kids would be scarred for life.
Haha, Heidi....when we're grumpy, it just prepares kids for the real world! :) (not that I don't still feel guilty about it.)
Instead of continuing with Hollow city(eh just read a chapter of that so havent really started it yet) I started
really good.
really good.
Just cleaned up my to read book list.....wow ... I need more time ! Just finished
. I started reading it from a recommendation that was sent to me. Wasn't sure what to expect. I have not read this type of book before, however all in all, I gave it a 3/5. I think I will start crossing some more books off my list starting with
KRISTEN: It might be too late for the teething conversation, but you might want to try frozen teething toys. You don't have to worry about the numbing gel, and still get the feeling. Kids love them!
Yesterday I finished:
Over all, I liked it. It kind of hit a lull in the middle, but towards the end it got more exciting and there were some plot twists I wasn't expecting. I still wish the romance had been toned down a little bit, but it didn't bother me too much. I liked it enough that I'll probably give the sequel a try when it comes out!
Now I am re-reading:

Finished Stars Above yesterday. So much perfection. I was a puddle of emotions by the end of the last story :D
Right now I'm reading
Its a librarian's recommends to the books she thinks people should read. A few of my favorites are in here, but I actually have not read a lot of these! She has a downloadable list of all the titles on her website if anyone needs some good read recommends!

A few it mentions that I know Heidi will also be thrilled about: Eleanor & Park, Jellicoe Road, The Storied Life of AJ Fikry, and Reading Lolita in Tehran (that was one of our around the world books!!)
Bluemoon, do you have any recommendations on brands? She likes ice shavings, so I think that might work, but she hates the rings and the other gel ones we have say no feeezing. I don't care about cost right now...lol

Any toys with gel inside them that you can put in the freezer is good. If she doesn't like rings try with different shapes. I don't suggest toys that are made with fabric only cause they're breeding grounds for bacteria. Get any that's plastic, I feel that they work the best. Dont fully freeze them. That's the mistake that people make. If its too frozen it might hurt the kids mouth in the end. Try the fridge if your baby doesn't like it too cold, or try to get the teether cold enough that its almost frozen. Try to get ones that has a handle to make it easier. It won't be to cold to hold.
Also, some might find this a bit gross, but your fingers work just as good. You can get those silicone finger brush, use the none bristly side to help rub your baby's gums.
Hope that helps. Babies are so finicky so you never know what will work for them.

So ladies.....I need some fluff. But I need good fluff. I've just come off chaos walking and have unwind next, but I'm not ready to dive into another trilogy yet. No romance....but people liking each other is fine (as in hunger games, chaos walking, etc). But nothing that makes me think too hard (so nothing like the previous mentioned books). :)
Any suggestions??
ELORA:
Just finished...
its the second book of a duology, it's an interesting read. Might want to try it out. It's not a complex read no real heavy issues are really discussed. Its romance heavy, but its not contemporary.

I love all the Sarah Addison Allen books.

Yes you do! My only caution is that it starts a bit slow and confusing.....almost as if the first few chapters should have been a prologue. Stick with it and you'll be highly rewarded!
I 100% agree with Sarah Addison Allen books Elora! Her books make me happy. I also agree with Hex Hall and Bloody Jack. I will add in Anna and the French Kiss

Fun, fun....even if you listen to it, I recommend just holding the physical book in your hands--it's gorgeous! So glad I can be a total book nerd here! :)
