What are you currently reading?
Cinder is delayed and won't arrive until next week, so I'm starting The Knife of Never Letting Go tonight. Not sure how much I'll get read in the next few days. My youngest turns one (1! I can't believe this year has flown too fast) tomorrow and her party is Saturday. It's going to be a crazy week/weekend.
Happy Birthday to your little one Kristen! I hope you love TKONLG. Just FYI I did not fall in love with that series until book two.
Aww happy birthday to Piper! Can't believe she's already a year old. :D
Omg I hope you like TKONLG. I agree with Heidi that it takes some getting used to, but I was definitely hooked by the end of the first book. :)

It was like Christmas at the library today! They had so many books I haven't yet had the chance to read but have been on my TBR (mental or otherwise)......
and in my quest for my first Patrick Ness novel, I came away with
So excited right now!!!!!!
Since my last post I've read Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which were both cool additions for Potter fans, but nothing special beyond that. Also Doll Bones which I really liked. Plus, Artemis Fowl and The Arctic Incident, both which I enjoyed quite a lot, thought they were the book equivalent of candy. Nothing overly deep, just fun, entertaining reads. Now I'm reading The Subtle Knife
Ugh! I started
and I canNOT put it down! I need to get up super early tomorrow....why??? Why does this have to be so amazingly written???(ok, but seriously, this is my worst "problem" right now, so I'm feeling pretty happy ;))
Elora wrote: "Isn't it awesome???? I love that book! One of the best opening chapters ever."Seriously. I thought "I'll just read a couple of pages, because I have a long list of chores" and then 2 hours later, I hadn't moved. It's so rare that I can't break away from a book when I'm determined to. Oops! Guess my chores will wait :D
And Cinder isn't even the best book in the series, IMO(I got Cress on top, but haven't read Winter yet). Just an excellent series. One of my favorites.
I can't wait to read the rest. I'm about 77 pages in now, but I can't imagine not devouring the rest of the series. Thanks so much for the rec :)
Ashley *Hufflepuff Kitten* wrote: "I agree with Tommy, but Scarlet is my favorite ;) the whole series is fantastic though."Yeah, no matter what order you have the books in, the series is amazing. I can't imagine Winter being any less so.

Yay!!!! So glad you like it. I agree with Tommy. Cress is my favorite of the series. Loved every minute of it.

I thought Winter was a very good ending :) And I've got Stars Above on the couch at home too, need to read that ASAP.
I am about 3/4th the way through Winter (audiobook) so can't judge it yet. I love it so far but can't wait for things to turn around because Levana and her minions need to get what is coming to them! I am tired of my peeps getting screwed :)

Also reading

Also, on the topic of HP side books, have you read Beedle the Bard?
I have read all 3...I thought Fantastic Beasts was really fun, with all the notes written in there from Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I'm really looking forward to the movie, a fun new story with new characters in my favorite world!I have also read Beedle the Bard, it was REALLY GOOD, I recommend it for any HP fan!
I finished Cinder and I'm so glad I ordered the next one already. I think I'd better order the third so I have it for my long car drive next week.I am rarely in awe of an author like this. It's like being in the presence of royalty (to go along with the theme of her books ;)). My only gripe was I found the surprises predictable, but I think most avid readers have trouble being surprised these days. Who was it that said there are no new ideas left in the world?

True it is hard to be suprised by books if you are an avid reader but it still happens. If you want to be suprised by a book series I strongly recomend
the first few books are a bit predictable but the last couple of them takes twist that are impossible to predict(for me at least).Just finished the last book, OMG did not see anything coming.

I know a lot of people found the first book rather predictable (myself included) but it didn't really lessen my enjoyment of it because Meyer writes so well.

Yay! I am interested to see what you think of Scarlet because it seems like people either really loved it or just thought it was ok (I am the later). I think it all ties into how you relate to Scarlet the character. It reminds of me Graceling Vs. Fire, which I also think comes back to whether you were more attached to Fire or Katsa about whether you loved either book more. Personally I love my heroines as ass kicking tom girls so I of course loved both Cinder and Katsa but not everyone identifies with that type of character.

Completely! To me the measure of a good author is not 100% new ideas, but the ability to make me not care where the ideas came from.

It just arrived :). I should be able to start it by or during the weekend, depending on if I get off my duff and finish my own edits. Lol

Awesome, Oda. Thank you :). I'll look at that!
I finished my reread of
, so good! Also finished
and I really liked this one. I love books about dreams and dreaming, and this one had a nice creepy factor. Fun, quick read! Also finished
and really liked the conclusion to the series. I don't know what it is about this trilogy, but I really really like it, its a good dystopian world.Right now doing a reread of
(LOVE!) and reading
which is a fun and interesting read. Also doing a reread of
Can't wait for the launch party for this one!!Going to start
and
next.
Started
and I mean this in the most affectionate way when I say I hate you all for turning me onto this series. I am getting NOTHING done....lol. My daughter loves it because when I started it, I let her watch My Little Pony so she wouldn't interrupt me. Not my finest parenting moment, but this series is downright addictive! Is there intervention or a support group set up for when I finish the last book?!?

Hehe, yes the lunar fandom is hard to resist.
As for suppport group, maybe the knowledge that there will be comic books with iko as a lead would help?

Lol, Oda, it just might. Cress arrives today, so I'll likely finish both on my car trips over the next week. 16-20 hours each way to read, provided I can convince my husband he doesn't want me to drive ;)
