Kristen Taber | 506 comments I know this is a little OT, but I wanted to pop in and say hi and let you know why I've disappeared (and will be in and out off and on for a little bit). On the 4th of this month, my second little girl arrived into the world...Piper is her name and she's not sleeping much, so neither am I :D. I had 5 minutes to myself this afternoon, so I thought I'd pop in and see how everyone is doing...I've read up and caught up as best I can, but just wanted to say HI.

No new books for me right now, if you don't count board books :). But hopefully I'll have time to read a few things soon.

On Saturday my hubby and I are going to visit close friends of ours--they just had their second baby! A little baby boy named Adrian. Love that name too! I'm very excited to hold him :)

I am still listening to Aerenden The Gildonae Alliance (Ærenden, #2) by Kristen Taber (I only get about 25 minutes in per morning) and also still listening to The Prisoner of Cell 25 (Michael Vey, #1) by Richard Paul Evans . I am enjoying both!

message 8117: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments I finished The Bane Chronicles (The Bane Chronicles) by Cassandra Clare and LOVED it! Fans of the series will love learning more on Magnus's backstory. Also, these were just HILARIOUS little reads!

Also finished The City by Dean Koontz which I also really loved! A wonderful read, highly recommend!

Next I'm reading Talon (Talon, #1) by Julie Kagawa

Jenny - I'm curious about Talon ... I really liked Julie Kagawa's Blood of Eden series, but I've been hearing very mixed things about that one. So I'm interested to see what you think of it! :D

Yesterday I started:

Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman

I've already read about a fourth of it. It's pretty different from most of Neal Shusterman's books. I'm enjoying it but I don't love it the way I love the Unwind or Skinjacker series. Maybe it will pick up, though.

Thanks, Heidi! Part of the reason I started reading YA & Junior Fiction again was so that I could discuss the books with my kids. Now I read them because I love the genres.

I don't believe I've read any Doug TenNapel, but I saw some of his stuff at the library and plan on changing that fact soon enough.
Amulet is definitely worth a peek or two. If you check it out, I hope you like it :)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 440 comments I finished reading The Blade of Shattered Hope (The 13th Reality, #3) by James Dashner last night and am still enjoying the series a lot. One more book left.

I started Theodosia and the Staff of Osiris (Theodosia Throckmorton, #2) by R.L. LaFevers this morning. I liked the first book, but really debated whether or not I'd keep reading the series. A couple chapters in and I'm already glad I did. Instantly liked it better than book 1.

That Theodosia book looks cute Tommy.

Oda please let me know how you like that one. I have eyed it up a few times

message 8128: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments I finished reading Talon (Talon, #1) by Julie Kagawa and overall I really liked it. 4 stars. It was a quick read about modern day dragons. And although there was a sorta love triangle, it wasn't a traditional one and it made sense.\

Now reading In the After (In the After, #1) by Demitria Lunetta which is a bit slower but intriguing so far!

Dixie Minor | 276 comments I just finished When You Reach Me, which I think I would have loved anyway, but which I especially loved since I am such a huge fan of Madeleine L'Engle, and the book refers a lot to A Wrinkle in Time. This book kept me up at night, which i love!!! But it was a fast, really creative, fun read with a mystery. I love it when a book keeps me up, as long as it's not too often! It reminds me of how I read when I was growing up. ;)

Game (Jasper Dent, #2) by Barry Lyga

really enjoyed it. I usually like these kinds of books/shows.

message 8135: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments I loved I Hunt Killers. I really need to finish that trilogy!

Finished In the After (In the After, #1) by Demitria Lunetta and I really liked this one! Although I did guess some of the twists, it still kept me on the edge of my seat. The first 1/3 of the book was kinda slow, but really picked up the last 2/3 of it!

Now reading Taken (Taken, #1) by Erin Bowman

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 440 comments I finished Theodosia and the Staff of Osiris (Theodosia Throckmorton, #2) by R.L. LaFevers this morning. Really, really liked it. I debated whether to continue or not after book one. So glad I did. I'll read more in the series before deciding how strongly i recommend the series, but this book was awesome.

Up next, finishing off the 13th Reality series with The Void of Mist and Thunder (The 13th Reality #4) by James Dashner :)

DARCY: wow! That's some serious reading. I'm actually enjoying the book now.

I'm really getting annoyed at Sorta like a Rock Start. Sorry Heidi! I hate how she keeps saying "Word" or "true? True!" It's aggravating me! She's too optimistic! I get that's a good thing, but argh! On the side note (view spoiler)

This book is totally killing me. The only reason I'm really forging through with it is because Heidi recommended it. So there must be some saving grace to it. I'm only in Part 4 of the audio book, but I think the climax is on this part. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
