Yesterday I finished Daddy's Home - A.K. Alexander. Now I am listening/reading to The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest - Stieg Larsson. Still reading An American Girl in Italy - Aubrie Dionne.

I'm halfway through my free Prime ebook for July: Kalimera Squid!: An Expat in Cyprus.I wouldn't call it outstanding, or particularly remarkable, but it's well-written and not bad for this kind of book (of which I've read many).
Since New Zealand is one of my dream destinations I was delighted to discover a Kindle version of a memoir by a lady who with her family emigrated to NZ and lived there for 6 years.I am very much enjoying reading about their experiences and the culture in NZ.Bummer, turned out to be written by a chronic complainer who hated everything about NZ, even the 'birdsong', can you believe that!
Still working my way through Cedar Cove by Debbie Macomber. It has been a series that I drop and then return as I do with most . I am on 8 Sandpiper Way. TV series is enjoyable but really the books are so much better and the TV is very different from the books. Next I will probably continue Harry Potter with book 5. Seems like I can't read through an entire series at once. I seem to tire so I work through many series at a time.
Last night I started Raven Black, by Ann Cleeves. It's books 1 of the Shetland quartet (of which there are now 6, lol)I recently discovered this series thanks to Shetland on PBS. I recommend it for anyone who loves British detective novels.
I've finished The Exorcist and I'm reading Man Made Murder and The Hunger Games. I'm satisfied of all these readings and now we are on holiday, I hope to finish many books.
I have read loads of different books since I last posted, but not sure I am enjoying current book which is What You Wish For - Mark Edwards. Have now read/listened to 23% (56 pages so far) and still not grabbing me :(
Just finished the Crime 'Dead End' by Shirley Wells. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Pity I didn't start at the beginning of the series.
I am reading A Year By The Sea by Joan Anderson with an online group. Liking the book. Will give it 5 stars.
I finished The Explorer, and only found out at the end (when I still had unanswered questions) that it's a quartet, and only the second book has been published.
I'm reading "A Year by the Sea" by Joan Anderson. Reading this with an online group. The book is good but reading a chapter a week is taking a while. I would have read this book in a couple days other wise.
I just finished Piotrs Log 2 - To the End of the World. It has a really interesting concept.. First, the publishing company, Dr. Spruce, is giving out books as episodes - like a TV show (this is nr two in the series). They are launching a new websites where you can talk to the author while the next episode is being written. Anyone tried anything similar? I think it's very interesting, and I am really looking forward to test their new books.
Second, the publishing company is also claims that the author of Piotrs Log is unknown.. Anyone who has read it? I don't know what to believe! Haha
Recently finished Madeleine L'Engel's Wrinkle in Time series and several series by Mark Dawson and enjoyed them all. Now one fifth through The Girl in The Spider's Web by David Lagercrantz and looking forward to meeting Lisbeth Salander again.
I'm reading the The Name of the Wind -- really long (I'm only half way through) and Attachments (just started yesterday).
I'm still reading The Name of the Wind (I'm 75% through but I haven't read it in about a month...time to pick it back up) but I have finished Attachments and Fangirl, both by Rainbow Rowell. I'm also reading (and listening via whispersync) to Ancillary Justice.
I started reading a free book i found thru Ogre's list, which has no reviews but which sounds like a good history/fantasy mashup. It's called The Sibyl's Urn by John Argo, and it's a trip, literally. You travel back and forth to and from ancient Rome. I got about twelve pages in before I dropped my tablet and smashed the screen to smithereens. So while i wait for Amazon to deliver my new (Zen pad) tablet, I'm reading The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell in hardcover. One of my GR friends just finished it, and i found the synopsis intriguing. It's an adjustment to be reading a "real" book for the first time in four years, weighs a ton and needs a light. I keep glancing at the upper right to check the time, and have tried to highlight a couple things with my finger. rofl
**new here, don't know how to live link the books yet.

Sorry about your tablet.
Thank you Sonya, Erik and Rick. The new tablet is brilliant for my needs, and since I went with another ASUS it was pretty quick to get right back to reading. Here's how The Sibyl's Urn turned out, one of my first reviews:

And if strange books, somewhat difficult books don't put you off, I really enjoyed The Invasion of Heaven: Part One of the Newirth Mythology and The Weaver Fish

Rayne (aka. brooklyn) wrote: "I'm reading You're Never Weird on the Internet."I'm reading You're Never Weird on the Internet too. A wonderful, funny story and a great woman. In the meantime, I'm reading Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, a Lincoln biography told in supernatural key.
I'm reading Stephen King's 11/22/63 which I got for my Kindle thru the library. Its a really handy way to read such a big book.. over 800 pages. Very entertaining by the way.

The Taxidermist's Daughter
About to decide on which of the six books at the top of the kindle pile, might be The Taxidermist's Daughter by Kate Mosse, which was just released thru Edelweiss for review.
I'm reading The Best American Mystery Stories 2015, picking away at it until my library ebooks come through.
Right now I'm reading "The Martian." I thought the movie was better. Just finished reading "Andy Warhol was a Hoarder." Really insightful book!
Kristie wrote: "I'm reading The Best American Mystery Stories 2015, picking away at it until my library ebooks come through."I just started this last week. It's one of my long-term reads...something I'll pick up when I only have a few minutes to reads in between stuff.

I'm sorry you're not enjoying this as much. I loved this book, but I listened to it on audio...the narrator did a fabulous job bringing to life the humor and attitude of the book.
I'm currently reading/listening (love whispersync) to Bloody Jack: Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy. I originally bought this for my nephew but he's only 8 and there are some things that are strongly hinted and suggested at that he has no idea about. But I'm enjoying it.
Just finished 15th Affair - James Patterson. Now I am going to read Play Dead - Angela Marsons for review on Netgalley.
Finished Catching Fire and now I'm reading Mockingjay. Nice series, but in this last book, the element "reality" is too much, in my opinion.
Finished Play Dead - Angela Marsons this morning. Now I am going to read/listen to Captivated by You - Sylvia Day.
I'm starting two books on my Kindle today:1. The Tokyo Zodiac Murders
2. Ms. Marvel, Vol. 1: No Normal
I just finished Steve Anderson's latest book - Rain Down. As with all of this books, it was very good.Rain Down
I'm finishing up The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics
.
I read this recently and loved it. 5★ for The Fly Strip
It's still available on NetGalley till the end of October if anyone's a NG reader.
Very funny, touching story of a 17-year-old boy dealing with family tragedy while still maintaining a funny, sarcastic sense of humour. Not necessarily YA but suitable for teens.
I liked it better than The Catcher in the Rye.
