Just finished the intriguing Into the Darkest Corner - Elizabeth Haynes, a good thriller and into a mind of a psycho. Now I am off to read Crosshairs - J.A. Schneider, to carry on the series where I left off.
After a reading slump where I just wasn't being able to stick to with anything, and everything seemed so sad and depressing[Esperanza Rising,Garden Spells,Shanghai Girls],I decided to try one of my newest Kindle Freebies, but it turned out to be too vulgar and crude for my taste~
.I believe the humorous regency trilogy will be more to my liking~
In the last two weeks I've finished:The Casual Vacancy (a little boring)
Nel caffè della gioventù perduta (intense, but little exciting)
Now I'm reading The Silkworm, the second book of Cormoran Strike series, and The Labyrinth, mysterious and intriguing
Currently reading British Crime Buried Deep. Its dense start reflects the ponderous nature of most modern policework, but once the tangled threads started to unravel it moves at a breathless pace and I'm beginning to realise the start holds a lot of the clues. Enjoying it.
Sonya wrote: "Nothing right now. I hope to read something soon, maybe finish game of thrones"I'm struggling to get through Book 5... it just doesn't seem to have the same flow as the others...
Just finished Buried Deep - had to stay up until gone 1am as I couldn't leave the denouement until today. Cracking, complex novel.
Just finished A Perfect Square by Vannetta Chapman and starting on book 3 of the trilogy Material Witness.
I have finished the action packed Raney & Levine - J.A. Schneider. Now I am going back to reading The Good Girl - Mary Kubica (once I buy the Amazon copy in morning). So I'm not sure what to start til then lol. As soon as I know, I will tell ya ;) xx
I have finished the amazing If I Could... - Rene D. Schultz. Now I am going to carry on reading Embryo 4: Catch Me - J.A. Schneider.
I finished The Labyrinth. Now I'm reading The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: War of the Worlds. The story is parallel to that of Wells, with two of my favorites carachters, taken by the pen of Conan Doyle: Sherlock Holmes and professor Challenger.
I have finished the intensed Embryo 4: Catch Me - J.A. Schneider. Now I am off to listen/read The Good Girl - Mary Kubica. Then tomorrow hopefully I will read EMBRYO 5: SILVER GIRL - J.A. Schneider.
I have read and finished EMBRYO 5: SILVER GIRL - J.A. Schneider. Now I think I might carry on reading Missing Gretyl - Only Fools and Trollops - Si Page.
Reconnected by L. Callel This is a two-parter. The first book is Disconnected which was a freebie on the Kindle. Of course, I had to purchase the second book, haha. It's a romantic suspense read. Intriguing.
Yesterday I finished The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: War of the Worlds, a book I found very enjoyable. Now I'm reading [book:Little Fuzzy|1440148. I didn't' know this author, but I'm curious.
I've finished the funny Missing Gretyl - Only Fools and Trollops - Si Page. You can find my review on Amazon, Goodreads and my 2 blogs. Now I am off to listen/read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan - Lisa Seefor a buddy read.
Just started Etta and Otto and Russell and James - Emma Hooper, hope I can get into it. Not sure from the some reviews whether it's my kind of book. But I will give it a shot x
I have read Hard Ride #1: A Novel in Three Parts, Hard Ride #2: A Novel in Three Parts, Hard Ride #3: A Novel in Three Parts - Opal Carew, Etta and Otto and Russell and James - Emma Hooper, At His Service: Part 1 and At His Service: Part 2 - Suzanne Rock and I am reading At His Service: Part 3 - Suzanne Rock
I finished Gerald's Game, a book I really enjoyed it, and now I'm reading The Way of Kings, other genre, but a great story!
I have finished the whole series of Riding Steele: Kidnapped, Riding Steele: Untamed, Riding Steele: Collide, Riding Steele: Wanted, Riding Steele: Crossroads and Riding Steele: Aftershock - Opal Carew. Which I thoroughly enjoyed. Now I am going to read In the Blood - Lisa Unger for a buddy read with someone off Goodreads.
I use Overdrive/Public Library ebooks, and just found a great way to get to the top of the waiting lists for just-released or soon-to-be-released titles. (My list includes Memory Man, Gathering Prey, 14th Deadly Sin and Dance of the Bones.) Search for the book title in Overdrive, or the author's name. Make sure your search retrieves some kind of results. Then on the left-hand column it says "All Titles", "Available Titles", "Titles to Recommend" -- Hit "Titles to Recommend" and you can enter your e-mail address and be put on a hold list. (Not all libraries have this option, but it's a great workaround from having to search for a new title release every day.)
Currently reading The Schopenhauer Cure by Irvin Yalom which was recommended by a fellow psychiatrist. I don't generally enjoy "work related" fiction but I am enjoying this book at the just under halfway point.
Currently reading " Learning to Dance in the Rain: A Year of Weathering the Storm with an Autistic Child" byMelanie Bennett. This is a 5 star book as far as I am concerned.
I finished The Way of Kings, a great fantasy series. Now I'm reading Divergent, a good story with some interesting ideas.
I finished
A New York: Winters Tale by Mark Helprin and gave it 2 stars https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Just finished The Girl Who Played with Fire - Stieg Larsson and now I am reading Birdman - Mo Hayder.
Sonya wrote: "How was the girl who played with fire, titch"Had me shocked in places to find out who the characters were, but a gripping book for me x
The Mislaid Magician: or Ten Years AfterI'm waiting a couple of days for the release of Some Like it Witchy, which is out on Tuesday.
I'm listening to The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson. Such a great book to listen to due to the incredibly talented narrator Steven Crossley and the hilarious story itself. I plan to find what other works Jonasson has crafted and read them as well. As for Mr. Crossley, I imagine the significance of his contribution to any story he narrates to be great - a remarkable sense of timing, spot-on adjustments in tone, and an array of appropos voices. Steven Crossley as the book's narrator prompted me to use one of my cherished Audible credits to purchase this book without first learning anything else about it. My mood is instantly transformed to good no matter how i am feeling before I hit play. I hold no reservation, place no limitation, on my 5 star recommendation of The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared.
In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin by Erik LarsonBlood of Innocents by Mitchell Hogan
The Abominable by Dan Simmons
Forsaken by J.D. Barker
