I have just finished Child 44 - rather gruesome depiction of life in late and post-Stalinist Russia. I am next reading "Extra-Virginity" about the historical use of EVOO (extra-virgin olive oil) and the fraud so often foisted upon people - both historically and in the contemporary world! Yes - a mystery for "foodies"

Just finished Trafficked My story. The story of a British girl who was trafficked. Heart-breaking and courageous - a must read! :)

I'm reading a DTB, I decided to make an effort to get them read rather than sit unloved on shelves. It's odd turning pages though!
This afternoon, I started reading 10th Anniversary by James Patterson. He's one of my favorite authors & this is also one of my favorite series he's written.
Over halfway done with Ameritopia by Mark Levin and borrowed The Guns of August from the Library. Gotta get through that in about 19 days or so - love being able to borrow books now.And Im reading a paperback of Atlas Shrugged

It's AWESOME! I'm already at 60% and I'm trying to savor it. IT's going to be over soon. : (
Tonight, after finishing 10th Anniversary by James Patterson, I started Misconception by Christy Hayes. I'm only 12% thru it, but am enjoying it so far.

I'll definitely check it out! :)
On the completely opposite side of the literary spectrum, I'm now casually reading Tales of the Jazz Age by F. Scott Fitzgerald, because there just hasn't been enough F. Scott in my life recently.
I'm reading The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf. I only started it last night, I'm a few chapters into it so far and its a bit of a page turner.
Ellie wrote: "I'm reading The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf. I only started it last night, I'm a few chapters into it so far and its a bit of a page turner."Ellie, I read that book last year & loved it!! I think I read it in a day...it was that good!
I'm not really a Stephen King reader...but I love all things "Kennedy". So, I just had to download "11/22/63". Started reading last night, and am enjoying it so far. Hope to read a good chunk of it this weekend.
Just finished Tollesbury Time Forever - Stuart Ayris and now about to start Last Train From Liguria - Christine Dwyer Hickey
Last night I started By The Time You Read This by Lola Jaye. It's pretty good so far....a little bit of an emotional read, but still good.
I just started,"The Hunger Games", I think it will be excellent. Want to finish it before the movie..
Candy wrote: "I just started,"The Hunger Games", I think it will be excellent. Want to finish it before the movie.."Loved The Hunger Games trilogy. I liked the first book a little better than the rest...but they're all good.
I'm in the midst of The Paris Wife. I haven't felt like this about a book since I read The Time Traveler's Wife. It is so incredibly believable! I highly recommend it.
Hi everyone, Im new to this group and only had my kindle since xmas. I am addicted to downloading free books and when im not doing that im reading it. Ive recently read Camp Cannibal, The Grind Show, and Truck Stop and im currently reading Permanent Winter. Think my kindle is taking over my life!
Rebecca wrote: "I'm in the midst of The Paris Wife. I haven't felt like this about a book since I read The Time Traveler's Wife. It is so incredibly believable! I highly recommend it."Change you're thinking/opinion of Hemingway yet? I like his books but not him, not any more.
I've been reading The Pawn by Steven James which is the first in a series of thrillers. This is so good that I think I will put his second book, The Rook on my series wish-list.
A Bittersweet Season: Caring for Our Aging Parents--and Ourselves, about the author's experiences caring for her aging and dying mother, and what she learned about related industries and issues. It's really good, as engrossing as a novel. I can't put it down.
I finished this morning Last Train from Liguria - Christine Dwyer Hickey and now I am reading Office Politics - Sharon Gerlach
I'm reading The Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales. The TV show Grimm is about start airing in Ireland for the 1st time this week. Since is supposed to be based on storylines from the book, I wanted to read it first before I start watching the series.
I just finished reading Defending Jacob: A Novel
. This is a excellent courtroom drama mystery. It starts slowly, drawing you in like an anaconda systematically squeezing its victim. By the time you reach the middle, you are trapped, the book stuck to your hands as the air is squeezed out of you. The story keeps changing as surprising revelations are casually dropped in your lap until you read the last two scenes with your mouth hanging open, finishing with a satisfying "Whoosh" for your last breath. Then the book lives with your for days afterward as you replay scenes in your mind. For me, that's what indicates a book deserves 5 stars. I highly recommend it!
