Dorie wrote: "I have that one too but haven't read it yet. I look forward to hearing what you think of it."It worked out nicely because The Strange Case of Finley Jayne became free right before another goodreads group I'm in is reading The Girl in the Steel Corset as a BOM. I'm about halfway through the prequel and it's decent so far. Nothing too exciting. Nice short read though.
Finished Reading "Orange Mint and Honey" by Carleen Brice, now reading the same author's "Children of the Waters."
I am reading Sister - Rosamund Lupton. But I have read Freaks - Tess Gerritsen, Time Bomb - Jonathan Kellerman and Cat Calls - Cynthia Leitich Smith since I've had my Kindle (31st December 2011)
I'm sorry to hear about your kindle. Wonder how that all happened? At this time I'm reading This Matter Of Marriage by Debbie Macomber.

I love Tess Gerritsen
I love Tess Gerritsen
I'm currently reading (and have almost finished) A Killing in Iowa: A Daughter's Story of Love and Murder by Rachel Corbett.

Robin wrote: "Finished Reading "Orange Mint and Honey" by Carleen Brice, now reading the same author's "Children of the Waters.""How did you like that book.I have both snce 2009 but haven't started either.
Collene wrote: "Currently reading The Kitchen House"I LOOOOOVED that book! I hope you do as well. I read it last year.
Went to watch the film about Maggie Thatcher today and in it she was reading Ken Follets eye of the needle and i remembered I love that book so came home and downloaded it to my kindle
I'm reading The Woman in Black in preparation for the movie, and I'm really loving it so far. Very creepy!!
I stayed up and finished The Woman in Black last night (so awesome!). Now I'm about to start Lucifer's Odyssey by Rex Jameson.
I liked Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell but it was a long one!I just finished Kin by Kealan Patrick Burke and it was awesome. (The link thingy can't find it!)
I just started two:
High Moor and the second issue of Penny Dreadnought. Link won't work for that either.
Wow, I don't often come across others who have read Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, and here are two in a row! I enjoyed the fact it was so long.I'm now reading An Impartial Witnessby Charles Todd. It's the first I've read by the author that features his WWI nurse detective, and it's one of the most believable examples of actions flowing from character and background that I've ever seen.

I'm slowly warming up to it. After the first 100 pages or so, coupled with the footnotes, it felt like it wasn't going anywhere, but now I'm much more engaged with the story.

I got about halfway through it when it first came out and retried it again this past summer, then finally gave up, it just wasn't for me.
Going to leave Stone Rain - Linwood Barclay and Cut Short - Leigh Russell til later. I am deciding to read Six Cats In My Kitchen - Lyn Horner.

I totally understand. I almost gave up a couple of times as well, but after Strange is finally introduced it started to get much more interesting for me. I'm 3/4s through it now. It's still got it's slow moments, however.

I just finished The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society last night and I started Signs and Wonders.
Anansi Boys by neil gaiman, and I just bought American Gods (it's 1.99 right now on amazon, it was supposed to go back to regular price yesterday so it could be any minute) so I'll probably read that next!
I have finished the delightful Six Cats In My Kitchen - Lyn Horner and am now reading War Horse - Michael Morpurgo.
I just started The Thief and noticed that it was about to be removed from GR, something to do with Amazon. As most of my reads are Kindle, does this mean unless I go and personally save each book they will disappear from my shelves? Why is this happening anyway?
Helen wrote: "I just started The Thief and noticed that it was about to be removed from GR, something to do with Amazon. As most of my reads are Kindle, does this mean unless I go and personally sa..."From what I read in another group, Amazon will no longer be the main source of book information for GoodReads. Evidently there have been some issues with Amazon. GoodReads will be importing book info from another major source (don't know who) and this will be done shortly. Just repeating what I read so don't hold it as absolutely true.
Helen wrote: "Hope we don't lose books from shelves then. Wonder why."From what I understand from the information provided on one of the threads I follow, it is only the information about the book and not the book itself that will be affected. I don't think your list of books will disappear from your shelves. The note I read said that some of the books being imported might not have all editions so your shelf might be changed to a different edition. That is, perhaps a paperback instead of a hard back edition or a paperback edition instead of a kindle edition. Make sense? Goodreads is going to supply a list of books for which they are not getting information fed to the website. Check the boards for more information that is more complete.
Hi Terri,I've always wanted to read these two books. Perhaps this year! I suppose you are enjoying them? ;-)
Terri wrote: "I'm reading White Fang. Just finished Call of the Wild, so I'm really getting a big Jack London fix."I read The Call of the Wild when I was a kid, loved dogs! I bought a copy of White Fang last year, sitting on my TBR shelf. Maybe I will get to it soon.
I read DEAD ish yesterday night/this morning. It was okay, a little scatterbrained, but it had its funny moments. I got the story for free, and I'll probably still try another story in the series.
I have just finished War Horse - Michael Morpurgo. Now I am gonna read Tollesbury Time Forever - Stuart Ayris.
Ashley wrote: "I'm reading
and
."Wow, those are some eclectic choices!
I read and enjoyed all three of those. Each was good for a different reason.
