Bekah, Adele is great. I'm her newest fan I think :p ... Her version of "Love Song" is just superb! Every song has something special attached to them, lyrics, vocal or musicwise ... :)
yeah, I'm rediscovering my love for her and don't mind gushing about her forever! I love her other song Someone Like You as well. She puts so much emotion in her music it just kills me. LOVE her!
Lisa Kay wrote: "I'm listening to Adele's playlist on YouTube right now! She's great. Autumn turned me on to her."oh my! Adele has now some fans here eh? :) Glad to bring her in the forum :)!!
Bekah, these are the lines from Someone Like You that makes me feel something ... oddly sad ...I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited,
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it,
I had hoped you'd see my face,
And that you'd be reminded that for me it isn't over
I loved Don't You Remember, One and Only (very powerful lyrics), He Won't Go and Take It All along with Love Song and Someone Like You. But, as I said, like the other songs too. :)
PS: Plz tell me which live version of Don't You Remember was that in youtube, the one I asked you about earlier. I'd like to check that out if available.
I've just finished reading 'Again The Magic' and 'Unchained Melody' by the Righteous Bros. seems to express McKenna's feelings exactly.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrK5u5...
God, Carol! I haven't heard that song in years. I is perfect!! They loved each other for years! It think I have that album, but no record player to pay it on. Thanks for the YouTube link.

One of my very favorite albums. I play it in the car all the time!! I've got the kids singing along now! Love the Righteous Brothers!

Great, Nicki! Songs they can understand the words to. Hee hee. Wikipedia says "Their emotive vocal stylings were sometimes dubbed "blue-eyed soul". LOL. I did know that. They achieved such a great sound due to Bill Medley singing the "low parts with his deep, soulful bass, with Bobby Hatfield "taking the higher register vocals with his soaring tenor. However, this I found the most surprising:
Indeed, according to BMI, "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" remains the most played song in radio history, estimated to have been broadcast more than eight million times.
I'm dating myself but the original "Righteous Brothers Greatest Hits" was the very first 8 TRACK TAPE my parents bought. I sang along as a kid too. For the longest time they only had two. This and Neil Diamond's Tap Root Manuscript. I still love Neil Diamond too. :)
I remember arguments in college about which version of You've lost that lovin feeling was better RB or Hall and Oates. RB of course!!!!
Nicki wrote: "I remember arguments in college about which version of You've Lost That Lovin Feeling was better RB or Hall and Oates. RB of course!!!!" - bold indicated by meWow! I like Hall and Oates, but the Righteous Brothers sung it much, much better.
It was usually with my boyfriend (now husband) and his friend who had never even heard of the Righteous Brothers.
Of course! You still hear the Righteous Bros. being played today and when was the last time you heard Hall and Oates? H&O fan in the day.
I liked Hall & Oates Rich Girl and Private Eyes (over played now). Listening to them now on YouTube, and I just realized how much "fusion" owes them. Hummmm.
Hall & Oates still get played and I love them still. Darryl Hall has a website (http://www.livefromdarylshouse.com/) where he invites musicians from differnt genres to his house and jams with them. You should check out Episode 35 with Fitz and the Tantrums (their song 'MoneyGrabber' great!)
Driving to work this morning I was listening to the Godfather of Soul, James Brown. And it suddenly occurred to me that "Papa Don't Take No Mess" is the PERFECT song to describe Ross Cannon in LADY SOPHIA'S LOVER. What always gets to me about the Bow Street series is that it's as much about male relationships as female ones. Ross is a real father-figure to Grant Morgan, and in a way to Nick Gentry as well. James Brown's song totally captures how strong and moral he is, also the air of excitement and danger in being around such a dynamic individual!
I found this Sade song. By your sade it just stands for so many profound things.and that soothing rhythm .. so lovely.
just found the official video.. i love it.
offcial vid.
I thought this song could fit with any book. Elvis, of course!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFSfdL...
I can just about hear you singing, Lisa Kay!I'm cheating here a bit because this song doesn't really fit an LK book but it's perfect for Julia Quinn's 'When He Was Wicked' where Michael Stirling is in love with his cousin's wife, Francesca Bridgerton. I know - it's just an excuse to play another of my favourites!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Lm0Qs...
Goodness, I haven't heard that one in years! ♪ With the girl of my best friend... ♫ Nobody sings "ahlovvvvehuh" like Elvis!
I remember buying the single back in the 1960s. This was on the 'B' side. Can't remember what was on the 'A' side because I always preferred The Girl of My Best Friend.

YEAH!! where the heck was i??? i usually listen to Sade... and this one escaped my ears! ha! NOW I GOT IT!^_^
And I agree with your statement. I'm always up for Sade, always in the mood for her. There's one other female vocalist whom I adore, my all-time fav Sarah McLachlan. :D
Sarah is phenomenal as well. My all time fav is probably Good Enough. My fav version of the song:

Thanks for the links! All of these songs and their various versions, I love. Have you seen the Afterglow live Bekah? It was so good; Sarah, her performance and everything else. And, God she's so beautiful! :D
I haven't seen afterglow live. I wish I could just go and see her live! It's on the bucket list. I'll have to look for that Laura.
Listen to the last song on the Fumbling CD...once it's over there will be dead space for a bit and then it will just be her and the piano. I get chills every time.
I think this might be appropriate to Evie's thoughts about Sebastian (Devil in Winter)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SdNrL...
From the moment they met in the wine cellar, Hardy could never forget Haven (Blue-Eyed Devil)
