Songs that make you think of Kleypas' books
loved Lara Fabian singing ADAGIO , this song is so beautiful, she sings with such emotion that you are transported when she sings, this song is in Italien, but there is an English version on youtube, loved it though in any language.... also love Luis Miguel singing any of the old romantic ballards , he sings in Spanish and is so sexy!
Here's a beautiful Welsh love song "Myfanwy" sung by the Morriston Orpheus Choir. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxPuly...

I love Sarah McLachlan too...she's got me through many a difficult night, One of my favs by her is her live version of Good Enough from Mirrorball. Beautiful song.
Taylor Swift- LOVE STORY ...and just these lyrics from Sugarland's ALREADY GONE:
"...his dark eyes dared me with danger,
and sparks fly like flame to a paper,
fire in his touch burning me up,
and still I held on..."

Thank you for posting this Kelly! It was a beautiful performance, one I enjoyed seeing again.

and this one.. ohh .. its so beautiful.. damn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAc83C...
I hope I'm not dating myself, ladies, but here are some classic rock/Motown songs. For Lawless Lily in THEN CAME YOU:
"Bad Girl" Smokey Robinson and The Miracles
"Mean Woman Blues" by Roy Orbison
For Sophia in LADY SOPHIA'S LOVER
"The Way You Do The Things You Do" (Miracles again -- and this song fits with her being so helpful around the office and making those fantastic blueberry pancakes!)
For Charlotte and Nick in WORTH ANY PRICE
"Rolling And Tumbling" by Howlin Wolf. ("When you see me runnin, you know my life's at stake." Charlotte is a runaway, but really it's Nick's life that is at stake in learning to feel love for her.)
Oh, and I'm a HUGE Sam and Dave fan, (the Soul duo of the Sixties) and I think almost ANY of their songs would fit Grant rescuing Victoria and falling madly in love with her in SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME. "Hold On -- I'm Coming"
"When Something Is Wrong With My Baby"
"Just A Small Portion of Your Love"
"You Don't Know Like I Know"
Autumn, Those are beautiful!! I have heard about Adele, but never heard her sing. I'm chair dancing to Dito again. Thank you!(view spoiler)["br"]>["br"]>
Lily, I used to pretend I was Diana Ross when I was a kid, singing into my hairbrush. It's bad enough I'm white, but I'm also tone deaf. LOL. Baby Love

Oh, I forgot to mention. We weren't allowed to play rock and roll when I was growing up. My dad didn’t like any music but classical and show tunes. If I wanted to listen to my generation, I had to go next door. So when I sang at home with was acapella. Tone deaf acapella! We even had to wear headphones to watch TV. I kid you not.

im so glad you liked them!! I LOVE Adele!! she sings with her heart on her sleeve is crazy!!
this one is a winner! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYEDA3... it makes me shiver when i listen to it!!
Headphones?? ugh! (((huuggs))) its about time u dance away ma` lady!! xxxx
Autumn! Nice beat. My new favorite song. I could listen to that while I typed this:Bekah wrote: "wow, Lisa...headphones?"...
Yes, headphones. And that was back in the day when they were not wireless, so the wires were strung across the carpet. LOL. We had to make sure other people didn't trip. Sometimes someone would stand in front of the TV because they couldn't hear the sound and then we couldn't see the picture.
One of the fondest memories I have is of my older cousin coming to visit in the summer and staying up watching Johnny Carson. I would be asleep and heard his deep laughter floating up the stairs and I would crawl and sit half way down and look at a man sitting behind a desk talking to people. I couldn’t figure out what was so funny . ???
Plus, I know practically all the words to early show tunes because that was all I could play on my little record player in my bedroom. You should have seen the look on my younger sisters-in-laws' faces when someone put in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers one Thanksgiving and I knew all the words. Ha! Still one of my favorite movies. LOL.
On the plus side, there was my dad, who was an airplane mechanic by profession, but an electrician by avocation. We had the best damn stereo on the block!
LOL ohh man Lisa!! thats wow!.. "the best stereo on the block!!" with headphones for the TV lol!!! thats hilarious to imagine!!Glad u like the tune!! i just love Adele!!
We had the best damn stereo on the block!
Yes, my parents were heavily involved in the community and scouts. They had all the adult parties in our big house. My mom was the best cook/entertainer! My parents didn’t drink much and I grew up learning that you could have a great time without being drunk. I remember one lady my dad worked with was named Alabama. She was a tall, flamboyant redhead with tons of make-up. Someone asked her at the party if she’d had her face lifted since they had seen her last and she responded, “No, but I had my ass lifted a few times.” I didn’t know what that meant then, but I stored it away until I did! LOL.
ok.. last bugging of the day LOl! This one she is almost crying.. ohh so emotional.. jesus. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDRwqT...
Autumn, You are not bugging me at all!! "Don't You Remember?", I need the exercise. LOL. Wooohooo, this one's slow. Nice.(view spoiler)["br"]>
***hugs*** she just makes the songs alive.. i cant wait till May when shes coming in concert!! :) About the one good thing living in bloody expensive NY. We have tons of shows LOL!
There's an amazing YOU TUBE video of Adele singing "That's It -- I Quit -- I'm Moving On" by Sam Cooke. She has such a beautiful voice and what an amazing knowledge of music to do a song by a Soul legend who's been gone for almost forty years!
Lucky you being able to get to YOU TUBE during the day. Some of us only go on GOODREADS at work, lol!!!
Lisa Kay wrote: "Have you seen Adele in concert before?"nope! first time!

Good - another convert to Jusse Bjorling. He was a Swedish tenor (02/05/1911 - 09/09/1960) and unfortunately, he has been overshadowed by the modern tenors. You can obtain Westlife CDs from www.Amazon.com. I should go for one of their greatest hits compilations.
