Right now I am reading Fallen by Tim Lebbon, as well as occasionally reading stories from the Kwaidan. The Kwaidan stories are enveloping, strong stories that have stood to the test of time. And like most stories that have lasted, they are able to curl around the little bits that humans pretend don't exist, within or without of our souls. You can find the Kwaidan at sacred-texts.com
i am also about to delve into Tuesday tells it Slant
[image error] which I won from a Goodreads giveaway!
Right now I'm reading Nickel And Dimed: On (Not) Getting by in America by Barbara Ehrenreich I have to read it for college but it actually is really really good. It bluntly tells the truth of working at low wages jobs in america. I typically don't like these sorts of books and rather read a fiction any day, but it is actually really good.http://www.freewebs.com/lelue/
Just finished American Godsby Neil Gaiman. Just thought it was ok.Now going back to Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch
Reading the "Firelord's Lover" and enjoying it. Then there's "Ambition and Confucianism" and numerous other research texts for the next novel.
Hey, Kelly. What are the Kwaidan stories about? I tried to do a quick find at your link, but it didn't find that word. I'm curious. It sounds like it could be good research material for me. :)
I'm in the middle of several different books but none of them are really hooking me so I keep picking up a new book hoping that this one will do it, but it hasn't happened yet.So far I'm reading:
1. First Among Sequels by Jasper Fforde
2. The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin
3. The Witches of Eileanan by Kate Forsyth
4. The Diamond Age: Or, a Young Lady's Illustrated Primer by Neal Stephenson
5. Heart Of Stone by C.E Murphey
Right now I'm reading Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell.I'm done with a bit more than a quarter of the book as of yet. I hope to get to half of it by tomorrow...
Finished The Warded Man (my review)today. I couldn't put it down. Now moving on to our other reading selection for this month: Gardens of the MoonI'm probably going to regret starting yet another epic fantasy seemingly unending series ... or not. :)
All over the map this month but have some destinations.Reading Secret of the Lost Race by Andre Norton, which seems to be an sf book that I never read.
Also plan to read
1.Oath of Fealty by Elizabeth Moon
2. Desert Spear by Peter Brett
3. Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs
4. Wild Ride by Jennifer Cruise and Bob Mayer
5. The Man from Beijing
6. The Dream of Perpetual Motion
7. Falconfar by Ed Greenwood
might check out the new Gene Wolfe novel
and probably 2 or 3 other books unknown at this point

Currently re-reading The Ships of Merior (book 2 of The Wars of Light and Shadow) by Janny Wurts. The newest volume will be out fairly soon and I am refreshing all the details of the series. Also, still trying to finish Anathem, Neal Stephenson's "true fantasy" novel, which is just awesome.
Let's see....I'm finishing up Storm of Swords by George R R Martin. Then I'm going to read The Price of Spring by Daniel Abraham, which I finally got from the library. After that I'm going to read the second book of The Dreaming Dark...whatever it's called. And then book three of The Dreaming Dark..whatever it's called. After all of that I'm going to start the Briar King. Whew...I hope I make it.
Its getting warmer here, and I'm beginning to dream about Sunday afternoons, laying on a blanket in the park, reading a great book! Here's my wishlist...

Looks like you have some great reading planned. I'm also going to be reading Silver Borne soon, just as soon as it lands in my mailbox from the Book Depository. I've also had Oath of Fealty on my radar and I've already read the Desert Spear and it was great! Wild Ride I haven't heard of but I love Cruise so I'll have to check it out.
I just finished To Ride Hell's Chasm by Janny Wurts. It was a great read, quite intense. I started Flesh and Spirit by Carol Berg. I'm excited about this series.
Just finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Now I'm going to start Paladin of Souls then most likely move on to a reread of Hard Times.
Finished reading Under the Dome by S. Kingmy review
Started The Way of Shadows (Night Angel, #1) by Brent Weeks
I'm still making my way through Gardens of the Moon by Erikson, but I just started The Conqueror's Shadow by Ari Marmell as well.
Last night I finished Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch. In spite of the pirate plot, which wasn't very interesting to me, I still thought it was very good. Now I'm starting Song in the Silence by Elizabeth Kerner.
I am reading Before They Are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie. Better than Book 1, can't wait to finish and get into Book 3
Just finished American Gods. I'm currently reading/listening to three books which are:Perdido Street Station, Academ's Fury and Horizon
Ryan wrote: "I am reading Before They Are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie. Better than Book 1, can't wait to finish and get into Book 3"I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about the first book and didn't intend to get the second, but if it is better then the first maybe I will try it after all.
I just finished The Folding Knife by K.J. Parker. It was great and now to find more books by the same author.I think next I'm going to start Dragon Keeper by Robin Hobb.
Unfortunately, I live in the sticks. Over the weekend I drove 45 minutes to the nearest bookstore hoping to find a Robin McKinley book or perhaps another fairy tale retelling. As you can imagine the two bookstores in town are fairly pitiful. As a result, I ended up with The Briar King which is our group read for next month. Honestly, I had low expectations for the book but now that I've started it I'm actually enjoying it.
Gwynnie - I used to live "way out" and Amazon became my best friend ;-) Glad to see you are liking Briar King especially since you weren't sure about it originally.
I just finished Killer Cows, which is actually quite a good book, featuring spaceships, video games, NASCAR, really mean bulls with really sharp horns, and a 14-year-old hero who learns not just to find friends but to make them as well.Currently reading Rain, a spy thriller featuring a young girl who's spent her entire life in a spy training facility.
I just finished The Second Coming
by David H. Burton
I highly recommend this new authors book.
I started a paranormal fantasy romance called Immortals after dark series. I like to switch my reads up between fantasy, paranormal, romance, and mystery.

If I can find a copy of
I'm currently reading
And I'm listening to The Silmarillion while walking my dogs each evening.
And, I'm 'pre-reading' One Month to Live: Thirty Days to a No-Regrets Life before leading a small group study a week after Easter. And, for yet another small group, I need to read The Anatomy of Peace: Resolving the Heart of Conflict before the 24th.
Hmmm ... less sleep, more reading is in my future.
