.Hey Barbara, Stacy Green was offering The ARC of the book awhile back. I told her that IS would read and review it. It should be coming out soon. I would recommend it. I hope that helps you.
FinishedFall of Giants
Started something lighter
A Royal Pain
Since this movie is on FIOS guess I better get busy and read/listen to
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel: A Novel
I really loved The Map of Lost Memories: A Novel an historical thriller set in Shanghai and Cambodia in 1924. Exotic and exciting.

I'm really enjoying Black Box. The strange thing is that WHITE (also set in the LAPD) ends right when The Black Box begins. So it felt like they were a matching pair.

I've always loved what I call Florida Whack-Job stories, from authors like Hiassen and Barry. I'm currently re-reading a yarn by another master of the genre, Laurence Shames--The Naked Detective. All his FL tales are set in Key West and this one is great fun, as a reluctant, cowardly PI takes on a dangerous case. I have it on good authority that Shames is working on a new Key West story, which is good news for fans.

The Serge Storms website is exactly what I might imagine Serge would produce: http://www.sergestorms.com/
Received it yesterday and read it straight through, its a tough violent thriller great Nordic Noir. Helsinki Blood

I like your review Brenda, I was research reading over the weekend, but I'm up to the first FBI meeting and starting to get a feel for the 'boss' issue, Jeanie!

Thanks Mark:)
Just finished Donna Leon's
Through a Glass, Darkly A comfort read, what with the usual wonderful food and predictably slow-moving Inspector Brunetti filling an eight hour work day with the usual two hours max of investigation. The theme is environmental pollution caused by the Murano glass factories and Leon's forte, describing the atmosphere, traditions and loyalties of the Venetian scene, are as strong as ever. Her politics are less polemical in this one, and the plot not any stronger.
Recommended for those who enjoy mysteries with a European setting and an authentic American viewpoint woven in.

Thanks for the info! I can't wait for it too. After this book, I'm gonna add all his other books into tbr list. Definitely my new favourite author! :)
The Innocent is a great read!
I finished Force Of Nature by C.J. Box, a Joe Pickett thriller. Some issues - pending from earlier books in the series - are resolved in this book. 4 star book for me.
Just finished Sail. I know Patterson and his team crank out 10 books a year, give or take, and most are not well received, but I try to keep an open mind and decide for myself. With that being said, this was not a good book. The wheels started to fall of for me when the snake showed up. It only got worse from there.
Reading Black Order: A Sigma Force Novel by James Rollins. As usual, this one starts at a BREAKNECK speed. So I am going to NOT indulge. I am going to savor it. Every word, every line, every paragraph.
Millard does it again, telling the incredible story of the assassination of President James A. Garfield, shot by a delusional man, killed by his doctors' malpractice. Garfield's death helped usher in the Civil Service and the acceptance of sterile surgical practices. Fascinating stuff told in vibrant detail. Five stars.Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President
I'm currently reading Grave Sight, the 1st Harper Connelly mystery, by Charlaine Harris and Introducing The Honorable Phryne Fisher by Kerry Greenwood.
I just recently finished a few of the short stories by Michael Connelly;
and
. I also started and finished
which is not a mystery but it was a light and enjoyable read.
