Just finished
Gripping! Fantastic! And so relevant to today's world and the fight against terrorists. After reading this book you will know exactly how Predators function. And a dynamic duo would be to read this book and see Zero Dark Thirty."
Rachel wrote: "Ctgt wrote: "Just finished Gun Church which I really enjoyed and am starting Winter's Bone. I saw the movie and really thought they did a great job with the overall atmosphere, so I assume the book..."I'm interested to see how the book compares.
I thought Jennifer Lawrence was fantastic.
Just finished Destined to Feel - Indigo Bloome. Now I am about to embark on Midnight Alley - Rachel Caine.
Mike wrote: "I am a third of the way through Rain Fall by Barry Eisler. I'm enjoying it so far. I'm learning alot about a) Tokyo, Japan and b) the many methods of assassination."Finished the book last night. Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to reading some more in this series.
I'm reading Jack And Jill which I'll finish tonight or tomorrow morning, then I'm going to start Cutting for Stone.
Reading Darkness, Take My Hand by Dennis Lehane. I really like it so far. Only 75 pages left. This is the second book in his private investigator series. The first was a solid three stars. This one is a solid four so far.
Linda wrote: "I'm reading Jack And Jill which I'll finish tonight or tomorrow morning, then I'm going to start Cutting for Stone."Hi Linda - I enjoyed Cutting for Stone, didn't want it to end!
Charlotte (Buried in Books) wrote: "Made a start on The Death Collectors yesterday."I really liked that one, Charlotte. I was lucky enough to attend an author signing with Kerley at a local bookstore soon after the release of this book, and the topic of serial killer memorabilia dominated the discussion. Really fascinating. Hope you enjoy the book.
I finished Standing in Another Man's Grave by Ian Rankin, a John Rebus mystery. Rankin is one of the best current mystery writers in my opinion. Excellent story, well written.

I just finished These Things Hidden by Heather Gudenkauf. I got hooked from page 1 and gave it 5 stars.I'm about 1/2 way through The Apprentice by Tess Gerritsen
This is my 2nd time through this great series.
I seem to be having trouble getting into any book other than contemporary crime fiction novels. Luckily I have quite a few good ones in my TBR pile. I'm starting with Into the Dark: A Novel of Suspense by Alison Gaylin, which is a follow up to last year's And She Was: A Novel of Suspense.
Just finished Don't Blink by James Patterson> It was a exciting fun read. I'm now reading Whispers of the Deadby Simon Beckett. Went to my local library to find Defending Jacob( it was out) so instead I gotThe Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie
Judge & Jury
Triptych and
A Great Deliverance so I have a lot of reading to do!!!
BoneMan's DaughtersAmazing book..I love a book that draws me in from page 1. I know that sounds hard because most causes you need to read into the chapter. This one got me right away and I could not put it down until I finished it 2 days later. I was on the edge of my seat literally waiting to see how it would end. Highly recommend a read!
They call him BoneMan, a serial killer who's abducted six young women. He's the perfect father looking for the perfect daughter, and when his victims fail to meet his lofty expectations, he kills them by breaking their bones and leaving them to die.
Intelligence officer Ryan Evans, on the other hand, has lost all hope of ever being the perfect father. His daughter and wife have written him out of their lives.
Everything changes when BoneMan takes Ryan's estranged daughter, Bethany, as his seventh victim. Ryan goes after BoneMan on his own.
But the FBI sees it differently. New evidence points to the suspicion that Ryan is BoneMan. Now the hunter is the hunted, and in the end, only one father will stand
Lmcmillan08 wrote: "That's not good. Rain Fall is at the top 5 of my TBR pile. I love Jack Reacher books so hope that's a better read for you. I just finished Persuader last weekend. Currently reading Carved in Bone..."I read a couple of the Jonathan Quinn books. I liked them, but my library is not continuing to buy the series
I just finished Heat Lightning by John Sandford. I'm really enjoying this series and am looking forward to reading the others. Now I'm reading The Blood Gospel by James Rollins. I've really enjoyed the Sigma series, but I'm also looking forward to something fresh from Rollins.
Got completely sidetracked today by picking up the first Rebus novel 'Knots and Crosses'. Over halfway through and am really liking it.
Dieter wrote: "Just started Misterioso by Arne Dahl."I just received the new Ian Rankin "Last Man Standing" -- the resurrection of Rebus, anxious to see how he comes back.

I might try this book, it certainly sounds good. I've never read any of his books because I thought they were all supernatural and I don't really enjoy those stories. Thanks
Just finished The Death Relic by Chris Kuzneski. Good, but a little simplistic and had a few flaws. Now I'm on to The Night Ranger by Alex Berenson. Very good so far.
I finished Extreme Measures by Vince Flynn. Not his best. I'm currently reading One For The Money by Janet Evanovich. I saw the movie and it was really enjoyable so I decided to read the novel.
Michele wrote: "I just finished Birdman by Mo Hayder - excellent read - I love it when I find a new series"That is a great series. Her stand alones are terrific, too.

I just started China Trade by S. J. Rozan, the first in her Lydia Chin series. I've meant to get to this series for years and finally did. Lydia Chin is a PI in New York City, working mostly in Chinatown. The view of life in this world is superb.

I've read a few in this series and really enjoyed them. Interesting character mix and view of NYC.

I just started Shatter by Michael Robotham. I am only 20 pages in and absolutely enthralled, both as a writer and a reader. The story hooked me right away, and even though he sets the stage and builds to the first incident, the pace is wonderful. I'm very excited to read more!
Stacy wrote: I just started Shatter by Michael Robotham....I've read the last couple Robotham books and for my money, nobody packs more of an emotional punch than he does. Why he is not the biggest name in mystery/thrillers right now baffles me.
Just finished Rage Against the Dyingwhich was a refreshing twist on the bog standard serial killer thriller. Now reading The Hiding Place. David Bellwhich is a brilliant combo of Linwood Barclay and Harlen Coben...

That's a great question. I haven't read enough to tell, but perhaps he isn't commercial enough? With the exception of a handful of authors (in my humble opinion) most of the big names don't stand out from the crowd the way you'd expect them to. But then again, writing is very subjective, so who knows?
Bryan wrote: "Reading Darkness, Take My Hand by Dennis Lehane. I really like it so far. Only 75 pages left. This is the second book in his private investigator series. The first was a solid three stars. This one..."love Dennis Lehane. He keeps getting better!
Linda wrote: "Currently reading cutting for stone."great book!! it took me a bit to get into it, but then I became totally absorbed in it. It was definitely not a "fast" read, but I read it constantly. Wonderful story with many life lessons. I could easily read it again. One of my favorites I read last year. Keep going if you haven't become totally enthralled yet - you will!
