Currently Reading? Just Finished?
Found Vince Flynn's Pursuit of Honor in the mailbox yesterday. Had just finished Extreme Measures and this is the next in line.

I'll be interested to hear what you thought of the book.
Just finished The Sixth Man by David Baldacci. Gave it five stars. Starting The Sherlockian by Graham Moore today.
I just finished reading the John Sandford Lucas Davenport series and I have to say that I enjoyed it in the being but as I read on I really was disliking him.... Hes has lots of issues He is arrogant a user and has angermanagment issues. And as for as his parental skills they suck... He and weather make a good pair to and I dont like her either... and then there is letty who is just like him and gets away with everything..... As far as Sarah goes its a good thing she lives with her mother... As far as the stories goes there are all pretty much the same.... criminals do bad things bring in davenport and his so call skills of solving the crimes have a shoot out people get killed... then life goes on like it did in the begining.... I probably will not read any more of the series a person call take only so much of the same thing over and over.... and personally some one should take davenport down a few pegs.or maybe the whole ladder.
I'm currently reading Artists In Crime by Ngaio Marsh, about half way through and just started Q is for Quarry by Sue Grafton.
I jut finished Dying Fall and really liked it (better than the previous one). Now I am half way through Point of Honour by Madeleine E. Robins.
Just finished Jet. It was a great start but I found it hard to finish for some reason. Just starting The House At Riverton and Don't Blink.
Rain Fall was not for me. I got 12 chapters in and pulled the plug. It was readable but I found myself daydreaming while reading it. Never a good sign. Now reading Die Trying by Lee Child
That's not good. Rain Fall is at the top 5 of my TBR pile. I love Jack Reacher books so hope that's a better read for you. I just finished Persuader last weekend. Currently reading Carved in Bone by Jefferson Bass.Has anyone read the Jonathan Quinn series by Brett Battles ? Thinking of picking this up soon.
Just picked up The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey by Trenton Lee Stewart for my grandsons tonight. Maybe I can get them to post a review.

by Trenton Lee Stewart for my grandsons tonight. I hope to get them to post their reviews (with a little help).
I finished Queen Of The Night by J.A. Jance; Jance's books are always good but I particulary enjoyed this one. Tidbits of Indian culture sprinkled in with a good mystery.
Pamela wrote: "I just finished reading the John Sandford Lucas Davenport series and I have to say that I enjoyed it in the being but as I read on I really was disliking him.... Hes has lots of issues He is arroga..."It hit a 'low spot' for me probably about mid-series. As you say, arrogant and multiple women (reminded me just a bit of the old Travis McGee series, new woman with every book). However, once he settled down and married, moved to a different venue as a supervisor of the state Crime Bureau rather than a city detective, the series picked up for me again. I "liked" Lucas much better as a person and the serial killer hook, which I was getting tired of as well, generated into more generalized "murder by all kinds of people" scenarios.
This is going to be #3 on my list. I just got it free at Amazon

I just finished reading
. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found the twist and turns kept me pushing to finish reading the book. I was not expecting the ending, another twist if you will. First time reading this author and will in the future read other books by Gillian Flynn.
Linda, I apologize to you and the other members. When I read your post, the embedded graphics had not rendered, so I was confused. I went back and all was clear - except my response to you. Please forgive me.
I finished Act Of Treason by Vince Flynn. Not good as his other books. I'm now reading Deadman's Bluff by James Swain. I love this series. It's a different kind of mystery set around the casino industry.
Has finished Priced to Move - Ginny Aiken. Now I think I am going to read Destined to Feel - Indigo Bloome.
Currently reading Gone Missing by Linda Castillo. I've been making my way through this series, but this is the most recent book released, so now I guess I'll just have to wait patiently for the next one.
I'm currently reading Evil At Heart by Chelsea Cain (#3 in the Archie Sheridan series) and Off Season by Jeff Ketchum. :)
Reading Dark Places, and it is aptly named. Balancing it with What a Ghoul Wants. So everybody's happy. And I can sleep at night.
Hi,Like many I have a selection of authors I follow and read regulary. This author I have just read was a first, James Gross, sometimes writes with James Patterson, but also has his stand alone books. I have just read 15 Seconds, and thoroughly enjoyed this book. Gripping, tense and exciting.
other regular authors are Lee Childs, Linwood Barklay, Harlan Coben, David Baldacci, Karin Slaughter, Chris Ryan, Lisa Gardner (just finished Catch Me, very good)to name a few.
kind regards
Sean

I just finished The return of the Dancing Master by Henning Mankell. I listened to the audiobook so I could knit. It was excellent. My first Mankell who is a Scandinavian author. The narration was wonderful as well. I'm looking at reading 14 by Peter Clines. It's a bit sci fi and reviewers have compared it to the TV show "Lost".
Has anyone read this? What do you think?
I finished the audiobook Now You See Her. It was very good. The villains were totally creepy. I heard myself saying get out of there! I felt for the main character, Jannene, but at the same time I felt she brought some of this on herself.I started another audiobook, The Reversal. I also am reading (in addition to my 3 school books)
.
For the self-pub authors here - I just read Guy Kawaski's APE. His experience going from being pub by Penguin to self-pub is documented every step of the way, and a fun read at that!Walter
Just finished The Fifth Assassin by Brad Meltzer and have to say it was a real page turner. Just starting The Follow by Paul Gzregorzek and I think I'm hooked.
I just finished Trunk Music, which was another great Bosch story! I started Imitation in Death last night so I can keep trucking along in that series. I can't get enough of Eve Dallas! I'm currently on the library waiting list for Dark Places and The Next Accident too.
I am a third of the way through Rain Fall by Barry Eisler. I'm enjoying it so far. I'm learning alot about a) Tokyo, Japan and b) the many methods of assassination.
Joanne wrote: "I just started listening to
."Would like to hear what you think of that one. It started off great, then I was distracted, and then someone at the library requested it and I haven't gotten back to it since.
Halfway through 'Beating the Bubushka' by Tim Maleeny. It's his second Cape Weathers mystery and it is set in San Francisco. First couple of chapters are a little clunky, but it smooths out nicely as the story continues. So far, so good.
Maegan wrote: "I'm currently reading Evil At Heart by Chelsea Cain (#3 in the Archie Sheridan series) and Off Season by Jeff Ketchum. :)"I read Heartsick this month and loved it! I can't wait to read more of the series. Enjoy!
Currently reading Ashes to Ashes . My first Tami Hoag novel and definitely not my last.
June wrote: "Reading One Breath Away and I can't put it down!"I have that on my challenge list for this year, I may have to bump it up a few spots. I love books that are unputdownable!
Recently finished Death on a Longship, a murder mystery set in the Shetland Islands (off the northeast coast of Scotland) during the filming of a viking movie. Quite good, really. Review is here, if anyone is interested.
I am currently reading The Cater Street Hangman. I also have Dark Of The Moon and Heron's Cove to read.
I finished Deadman's Bluff by James Swain. This series is so much fun to read and the characters are a hoot. I'm now back to reading Vince Flynn and currently reading Extreme Measures

I have this book on my nook. Hmm!! I think I will read it after I finish the library books I have checked out. I like books that are hard to put down.

Just finished Brad Meltzer's "The First Counsel"It was intriguing and kept you guessing all the way to the end.
It was not my favorite of Mr. Meltzer's as there were quite a few holes in the premise of the story but over all a good weekend book. The First Counsel
I'm reading First to Kill (The Nathan McBride Series) by Andrew Peterson. So far so good - I like the character. While I remain cranky about the need for a decent copy editor, the plot and character are good enough that it's not slowing me down much.
Recently read "OPERATOR," the debut thriller by Forbes magazine writer David Vinjamuri. He takes the old "soldier returns to his hometown and finds corruption" storyline and makes it his own. A fast-paced, engrossing read, filled with authentic "special ops" details drawn from considerable research. It's the launch of a new series, so watch for this guy's future work. He really has storytelling talent.
Just finished Gun Church which I really enjoyed and am starting Winter's Bone. I saw the movie and really thought they did a great job with the overall atmosphere, so I assume the book will be as bleak if not more so.
