Currently Reading? Just Finished?
I finished reading "Careless in Red" by Elizabeth George. I enjoyed it, yet it seemed to have too many characters and subplots. I am now reading Blood Land. This is new author for me.
I just finished reading The Apprenticeand loved it! I read it in less than a week which is rare for me. And I started reading Red Dragontoday and am already 20% through it.

Thank you, I feel better. I thought maybe it was me, but having thought a little more, I think her previous books revealed just enough more and early enough to keep you turning those pages.
Just finished A Place of Hiding, still reading The Angry Woman Suite, and have almost finished Wicked Prey.
About a third into Game Changer by John Childress. There was an early section that dragged a bit but has really picked up the pace now.

Sounds like the type of book I would enjoy.
I just started The Home by Scott Nicholson. It has lots of thriller elements and drifts into horror (another favorite genre). Scott mixes the genres very well.
Just finished The Rottweiler. It wasn't exactly what I expected but it was an okay read. Now my problem is picking the next book!! I always have a list ahead but have a hard time picking which to read next lol. Thinking I might start Red Mist. I also get so many ideas from people on here on what to read.
I am reading A Romantic Ghost Story. In the book this guy fell in love with a ghost name nancy, I'm wondering how it going to turn out.
I am reading
a really good book that depicts what a people can inflicton others. This book concerns the Armenian genocide of
1915. I feel a lot of it is based on facts that many of
us do not know. It is insightful into how people feel, the
psycological effects, the help given out of goodness, It
also portrays the cruelty which is total irrational.
We have to ask WHY? This is a human condition with
no answer. My father came to this country on a ship in 1915 from Greece with an Armenian man. They could not
speak each other's language, but they remained
close friends, learned English together, visited
each other until they died. Now I understand what
happened which they never talked about. This is a very interesting book that switches back and forth from present day to past. 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Three JunesFinding myself at 11 PM with nothing I wanted to read, I went to my book shelves. The first book I saw that I couldn't remember anything about was "Three Junes" and what a treat. I must have been brain dead when l first read it, because I still find it completely new. At least there is one thing about getting older; you get to reread books as if new. I'm loving it and spending more time looking through my book shelves!

Except for The Forgotten Garden, I find all her books hard to get into. I gave up on a couple of them.
I gave up on One More River by Nicolas Freeling. I tried to like it, but ultimately, it just wasn't working for me. I'm currently enjoying two books; In the Presence of Mine Enemies, an alternate history by Harry Turtledove and Night Soldiers, a spy novel set in WWII by Alan Furst.
I just finished
. This is a new author and series for me and I am definitely looking forward to the next book.
Starting Robert B.Parker's Fool Me Twice by Michael Brandman. I'm glad he's continuing the Jesse Stone series. Especially picturing Tom Sellick as Jesse!!
I finished The Inner Circlen by Brad Meltzer. I started out liking the book but the premise behind the plot turned out to be to be too far-fetched for me. 3 stars.
I finished The Forgotten Man by Robert Crais and Mr. Lucky by James Swain. I really enjoyed both books and would give each 4 stars.

"I love Delaware too. I never miss one!
I'm starting
by Jon Land. I've never read this author before. This is the first book in one of his series.
Just finished The Twelve (5 stars), The Toll: A Halloween Short Story (4 stars) and Alone (3 stars). Currently reading Nemesis: The Death of Timmy Quinn.
Am finishing up HhH which is a bit difficult for me in that the author writes of his own experiences in coming up with the research which was on the incident of the assassination of Heydrich in Czechoslavakia during World War II. I just have a difficult time relating to this through his eyes, and in some cases the importance of knowing certain things. But I am a reader, and with strong opinions although not inflexible, and make no pretense of being a writer, novel or otherwise.
Starting to read Shattered by Karen Robards
2nd Chance by James Patterson
What Doesn't Kill You by Iris Johansen
Silenced by Allison Brennan

I've just finished 'Sweet Tooth' by Ian McKewan. I liked it because it's a spy novel that's not really about spying :-)
Just finished The Little SisterChild 44 and
When Eight Bells Toll
All great reads especially Child 44
I'm now reading Library of the Dead and
A Banquet for Hungry Ghosts: A Collection of Deliciously Frightening Tales

I enjoyed Child 44 as well, Sandy.
I took a mini break from mystery books. I was getting a little burned out. I started The Mark of Athena and I enjoy that it is a light read.
Am trying to finish HhH, about the planning and implementing the assassination of Heydrich, known as the Blond Beast even by his own group, the WW2 SS. Not sure I'm that comfortable with the book.
Just started Cross Fire by James Patterson. Not bad so far which considering the poor quality of recent JP books is a massive improvement. I did say I would never buy another Patterson book after the awful Cross Country but I already had this one on my shelf and I couldn't just throw it away now could I?

I felt the same way you did. I didn't really engage until the last 100 pgs.
