Currently Reading? Just Finished?
T- I've read some Ridley Pearson but I don't think it was from the Lou Boldt series. I would've remembered the Seattle underground. Now I'm on the hunt for it. Thanks for the tip. (God bless the Rock Bottom Remainders!)
just finished
and it was a real enjoyment. I read it in french when I was about ten at school and had forgotten the plot, so this time I reread it in the original language. This was juste delightful :) it's a masterpiece. Hard to beat... :-D

Thanks. I added it to my TBR list.
Jan C wrote: "Oh, thanks a lot. I'm still reading The Crossing Places. Thanks for the giveaway - JK..."Jan, my apologies. I didn't mean to post what people would consider a spoiler. I've deleted my post.
I just finished No Greater Sacrifice by John Stipa. I have read this book 3 times in last 2-3 years. I have enjoyed reading it everytime. Thanks John

That's okay. I'll have forgotten all about it by the time I get there or even finish this book.
Am so excited . Just ordered Fair Play and True Deceiver from the libary. Did not think there was a chance they would have them but they did. I do love Tove Jansson so much.

"Small World" was ok, the premise of being able to shrink people and things was quite interesting, I just don't think the author developed it enough. She spent more time dwelling on the affairs of the big people, and the thread that was most interesting there she didn't spend enough time on . So . . . could have been better.
I just finished Taken by Robert Crais. It was an exciting and heartbreaking look at human trafficking at the border.
I LOVE my Pike!!
I am reading I Am the Messengerthen will be moving on to From The Dead by Mark Billingam
The Visitor by lee child
Stephanie did you like The missing by Chris mooney? he is a good writer
I have just started Riverside Villas Murder by Kingsley Amis to go along with my other book, Plan for Chaos by John Wyndham and am enjoying both so far.

I think my favorite so far is [book:The Enemy. But I liked Killing Floor also. Haven't read one yet that I didn't like. Enemy was standout though.

I am currently reading The Boy From Reactor 4 by Orest Stelmach. It is a gripping suspense novel involving Ukranian and Russian criminals chasing down $10 million of stolen money. Very tight, complex plot, a lot of pace, wonderful characterization.
I just finished
. I really enjoyed that book. You learn a lot about Maura's background. I thought I knew what the ending was going to be like and I was so very wrong.
Avisek wrote: "I am reading The Girl with the dragon tattoo..What should be my expectations ??"It's such a great book, and a great series. Be prepared to have all the books handy. I read the first, then immediately started the second. The second got a bit boring in the middle, but as soon as I finished it, I immediately drove to the store and bought the third.
Avisek wrote: "I am reading The Girl with the dragon tattoo..What should be my expectations ??"The first one is the best of the three. You'll definitely want to read the other two shortly after finishing the first to keep the story fresh in your mind.
Just finished Death at Wentwater Court
and really liked it-- just ordered the next couple in the series. It was set in England in the roaring twenties, which is a time and place I find appealing anyway. The story hung together well and the characters were warmer and more sympathetic than I've typically encountered in this kind of mystery. (One flaw in this kind of mystery tends to be that the book is a cerebral exercise without the reader being able to establish any emotional contact with any but the ongoing detective character...).
Lets see..i am on page 200..And the Vanger family history goes on..Still cant figure how the book will turn explosive !!
Avisek wrote: "Lets see..i am on page 200..And the Vanger family history goes on..Still cant figure how the book will turn explosive !!"Patience, Avisek, patience. It'll get there.
Feast Day Of FoolsJust finished reading the Feast Day of Fools and was so disappointed. I understand what Burke was trying to do, an allegory of evil fought on the desert, almost scriptural, but I didn't like it at all. Good try, however. Now I going to read Lisa Black's Takeover.
Just finished Dissolution by C.J. Sansom. Great story, set in a very atmospheric location (a monastery in rural England in 1538). Reminiscent of Name of the Rose, but this novel includes lots of the political and social issues that weave into the story itself. Very enjoyable read.
Just finished Out by Natsuo Kirino. It was really great but if you cannot stomach disturbing scenes, this one is not for you. I did enjoy it anyway.
I began
at first, I get bored and thought I was going to drop it. However, I clung to it and now, I'm enjoying it (I'm about 3/4 on).

Currently reading, and liking a lot, Echo Park, by Michael Connelly. I am eyes deep into Robert Crais, but took a break. I dropped the Fifth Witness after the first couple of pages and confirmed my decision by reading others' reviews. But Echo Park is good Connelly, and real good Harry Bosch. I am almost finished, and looking forward to more Crais or, perhaps another look into T Jefferson Parker. Unless someone can recommend something based upon what it is obvious that I like. I welcome ALL suggestions.

His books are quite good as well.
Gatorman wrote: Thanks... I love Parker and will check out James Hall. Thanks to Gatorman! I have been reading through some reviews here and I have an enormous problem with reviewers who summarize a plot, and pass it off as a review. This isn't a book report site, this is a reviewer site. The plot doesn't need to be revealed, just what you liked about the book and why, or what you didn't like and why.
Jannene wrote: "Gave up on Presumed Innocent. Now starting Killing Floor. I hope this one is better."Killing Floor is very good but it's written in first person which is something I had to get used to.
Just finished
. I thought this was his weakest effort. A very western feel to it and the climatic scene was very uninspiring. Now reading
Just started Dark Blood by Stuart MacBride. I love his dark humour and Logan McRae is a brilliant character. I am also reading the 'in Death' books by J.D. Robb started book 4 yesterday and am really enjoying the series so far. I love the characters and their continued development through each book.
I have just finished The Murder of my Aunt by Richard Hull. Very funny with a brilliant twist at the end. I think it would have made a great Ealing comedy.

You might try The Blue Edge Of Midnight by Jonathon King. It's part of a series that takes place deep in the Florida Everglades, so the setting is very unusual...I really like that book.
I started The Body in the Library, which is one of the few Agatha Christie books I think I haven't read. The sound is a bit muffled...hopefully I can get used to the narrator.
Renee wrote: "Avisek wrote: "Lets see..i am on page 200..And the Vanger family history goes on..Still cant figure how the book will turn explosive !!"Patience, Avisek, patience. It'll get there."
It sure did explode..right on my face !! It almost made me squirm with hatred...And I threw the book once, out of sheer rage and agony over how low humanity has stooped due to some grossly sick fucking bastards !
Reading an ARc of Murder of the Bride and also reading the new Rutledge The Confession. Has anyone read this one yet?

I really am enjoying this book. All the books I read are first person.

- I have the 2nd book in the series as well -
, should be reading that one soon....
Just finished the next two novellas in the Timmy Quinn series, Vessels and The Turtle Boy: Peregrine's Tale. Both were excellent, 5 stars each. Just started Defending Jacob: A Novel.
