Finished Whiskey Sour yesterday, and I enjoyed it. Some of the serial killer parts were tough to read, but I like Jack a lot, so I'll keep going with the series.

loved it!"Evelyn, have you tried Hank Phillippi Ryan?
I find a lot of cozies are a bit too formula, but Hank's debut, Prime Time, was a lot of fun.

I thought it was okay. There was some plot holes for sure. "
I'm reading Girl Missing by Tess Gerritsen. She says this is her "transition book" between her early romance/suspense books and her later novels that focus more on crime. Still...there's a pretty cliche romance in the book (not my favorite plot element in mysteries).
I just finished
and
. I really enjoyed both books as these are long time favorite authors of mine. I have also finished a couple of new to me authored books on my new Kindle
and
I am now starting
Deedeebee, let me know how Down the Darkest Road is. My copy is on the way and I can't wait. I love Vincent and his Tom Selec mustache.I am reading Don't Tempt Me and Blind To The Bones.
Finished Stephen J. Cannell's "Vigilante", which I enjoyed. He's a good read. Now I'm going to start Jack Todd"s "Sun Going Down", an epic western. Am I the only one who likes to change up genres? I feel like it helps to keep things fresh.
Just finished Spartan Gold. A nice offering for those who like to follow along for a ride in adventurous, fast paced riddle enhanced book. Also some points to history, for European history buffs.

I didn't love THE SINNER (#3) but the fourth and fifth (I think BODY DOUBLE and then the Edgar nominee VANISH) were both fabulous. I've also really liked THE KEEPSAKE and ICE COLD. Haven't read the latest yet, though it's on my shelf ...
I just finished my first novel on my brand new Kindle. I love my new, tiny, Kindle. Didn't love the book, James Patterson's Along Came A Spider, it was only okay.http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Evelyn wrote: "I have read all of Tess Gerittsen series except the one involving outer space? couldn't get into it"i think this is the one
Gravity this is the one that hooked me on this author. Once i got over the space thing and realized it wasnt science fiction but a thriller i was hooked. now if this was my first read by her, i made of had a harder time with it.
i love her series, but wish she would still write stand alones.

I just finished The Demon's Parchment, the third in the Crispin Guest series by Jeri Westerson, and this book did not disappoint. I adore this series. This one had some really unusual twists. The Demon's Parchment
I,ve just started Never Knowing by Chevy Stevens, I hope it,s just as good as her first book Still Missing.

I finished it on our flight home from Xmas. It was indeed an excellent story. Started and am about half way through Black Plumes by Margery Allingham yesterday and also opened up Knights of the Black and White by Jack Whyte

I usually move between adventure, mystery, fantasy, urban fantasy/paranormal and back. Occasionally when I get the blahs over everything, I go back to some of my books from back in my 20s and 30s that I still enjoy ... some of the Georgette Heyer period romances or the Louis L'Amour westerns, though I don't routinely read either romances or westerns now.

Bet you don't run into a lot of male cozy readers, eh?
It seems all my female authors friends write them. If you're looking for some debut cozies, look at Rochelle Staab's Who Do, Voodoo? or Liz Lipperman's Liver Let Die.

I really liked that book as well as the second one, Shut Your Eyes Tight. The relationship between Gurney and his wife is very interesting.

Just started The Informationist and also have her new one The Innocent for next.Has anyone read these?

I just used a Christmas gift card to buy The Innocent. It took me a dozen pages or so but I really liked the first book. The author's own story was as compelling as the novel and that's what first caught my eye. Now I'm hooked on the her characters and I get the idea she prefers it that way.
Look forward to reading your thoughts on The Informationist.

Liz Lipperman's Liver? That sounds too good to pass up. I just want to say that out loud over and over again.
I read The Informationist a couple of months ago and liked it ... not incredible, but good. I tried The Innocent recently and ended up putting it down. Will try it again later, may have just been me, but for whatever reason just could not get into it. Since I liked the first one, will give the second one another try.

I just finished reading the book. I liked it enough to read the next book. Gurney's wife was too smart, without her help, he wouldn't solve the case.
Just finished And Then There Were None. Incredible book. The ending was a complete surprise. Another great book by Agatha.
Yeah, I alternate between ATTWN and Murder on the Orient Express between which I felt was a greater surprise.
ATTWN and Murder on the Orient Express were christmas gifts from my boyfriend. I think I'm going to read that one next. I've never read any of Agatha's Hercule novels before, only Marple and unrelated ones.
Pete wrote: "Hank Ryan's Prime Time is really rolling along at a brisk pace. I would also suggest Julie Kramer and J A Jance's Ali Reynolds series if you like the reporter angle.
I just started Clea Koff's
Her first mystery in a planned series. I met her at BoucherCon and I love forensics books so I had to have this one.
I've just finished Tokyo - At first I thought I wasn't going to stick with the book as it was a slow starter, but at around half way through I was hooked! I'm now reading
This morning I finished Sister - Rosamund Lupton. Now I am going back to Trophy Taker, The - Lee Weeks.

I don't agree with that. She helps to keep him on his toes and nudges him but it's his own experience and skills that solves the case in the end.
I just finished
. I couldn't put this book down. I stayed up until 12:30 am hoping to finish it. I called it quits and woke up early to finish it. The book immediately sucked me in. I had to keep reading to see what was going on and why Tempe was in so much trouble. It was a very suspenseful book and I had no idea how it was going to end.
Just finished
Gave it 3 stars. Easy read and I'll read her others too but this one didn't excite me enough to rush back to the library for them just yet.
I'm 3/4 thru The Sentry by Robert Crais. Trying to decide if I wanna read Buried Secrets by Joseph Finder or Afraid of the Dark by James Grippando next...
Jane wrote: "I have just finished The Confession by John Grisham.
