UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments What is a group created story?

message 3: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments A story that is written by various people. I think that's what Cheryl was asking about, unless I read her post wrong.

message 4: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 900 comments Yes Danielle that is exactly what I was talking about!

I thought it would be a fun idea to write a story as a group. This is how it works:

First we decide on a name for our hero and heroine. Since this group is a historical romance group we should have this story based on that genre. Then you take turns writing the story in this thread. You may choose to write a paragraph, a sentence or even just adding one word to the story. Here is an example:

Betty wrote: Jane grew up on a farm.

Anne wrote: She always enjoyed helping out with the different chores; she cleaned out the stables, fed the pigs and gathered eggs from the chicken pen.

Lisa wrote: Jane never minded getting dirty either.

Sue wrote: She was considered a tom-boy by most people. She would rather wear breeches like the boys instead of lacy frocks.

.... and so on and so on. Any person posting has the right to change the storyline to go in a different direction at any time. What makes this fun is seeing the different things people post and just how creative we can all get!

Anybody interested?

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I'm a little swamped right now, but I like the idea of it. Can you pop in and add to the story at any time, or will there be an order to the installments?

message 6: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 900 comments You may add to the story at any time... anyone may post as they wish, they may post one time or multiple times! That's what makes it fun, there is no pressure and no time limit!

message 7: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Okay. Count me in, in that case!

message 10: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 900 comments Great Danielle and Alycia! Dhestiny this is so up your alley!!! You will bring some great humor to the story I am sure. It is basically what many of us do with each other anyways... but instead of it being about us it will be a story about our fictional hero and heroine!

message 11: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Awww, thanks Cheryl!! I appreciate your enthusiasm! It sounds fun!

Anne OK (anne-ok) | 99 comments P.S. I hope you all know I'm just playing around - it makes me no difference whatsoever what our characters are named. They all sound good to me as long as HE is tall, dark and handsome -- and MUST have midnight blue eyes!!!!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I think everyone should get 1 vote. Pick a name and then on let's say... Monday, we'll post all the names and then vote on them. The one with the most votes wins... if there is a tie we can vote on the names and narrow it down.

What say yous?

Yes! I can see him in my mind... tall, bronzed by the sun, muscular, sinfully handsome, coal black hair, that slightly curls with a rebellious lock that sweeps across his forehead, and midnight blue eyes that can see in the depth of your soul... he is quite delicious... he does need a name!!!

Oops! Does everyone else agree with the birth that Alycia and I just gave to the perfect man???

message 37: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 900 comments Love how the hero is described! I agree with Dhes, let's take a vote on the name! Shouldn't they have last names as well? Is our hero a titled gentleman?

So, just to regroup-- Everyone post their name suggestions and we will vote on Monday. Please only give only one name of h/h per person!

1- first, last name hero
2- title of hero
3- first, last name heroine

this is goign to be difficult ...
what about the setting ???? 1700-1800's i quiet like he victrian era
