message 53: by Konnie (new)

Konnie (mrsnaz) I am about 3/4 of the way through "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer. I did not like the Twilight series so I was hesitant with this book, but I LOVE it. I have so many books to read on my Nook and I cannot decide which to read next. It is down to "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", "Wicked" by Greogory Maguire, or "Through a Glass Darkly" by Karleen Koen. I wish I had time to just read one and day and be done by the weekend so I can read more. lol

Kristi, I enjoyed it, it's not my usual pick for a book, I like the paranormal romances more but I did love the characters in this one. I'll probably read the rest of the series...this was my first Sherrilyn Kenyon book!

message 83: by Konnie (new)

Konnie (mrsnaz) Sarah, I have been trying to get into "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" also. I ended up walking away for a bit to read some other things. I am disappointed that I don't seem to be able to get into it like others have.

I am finishing up Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann tonight. My library just notified me that my wait list for The Magicians by Lev Grossman is available and I cannot wait to start it. I adore C.S Lewis and Harry Potter so I hope that I love it!

I'm reading Major Pettigrew's Last Stand and am finding it to be a pleasant, quirky, surprising read. I like its dry humor. I'll be starting The Magicians soon as part of the group read for the nook. Carmen, it took me a little while to get into "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," and once it "took", it was so much fun!

message 92: by Dorie (new)

Dorie (dorieann) Hi everyone, just got my Nook two weeks ago and I'm totally hooked on it now. Love it, and am very pleased with my decision to buy the Nook versus all the other ebook readers available. I'm currently reading Dying Bites, about an FBI profiler assigned to catch a serial killer. The twist is that she is assigned to an alternate reality where vampires and lycanthropes are most of the world's population, with humans all but wiped out. It has some extremely gruesome descriptions of the deaths, but other than that it's been a light and imaginative read.
