Playing With Fire was such a great book. I really enjoyed it. Major cliff hanger at the end that had me crying.

Playing With Fire was such a great book. I really enjoyed it. Major cliff hanger at the end that had me crying.See, I really didn't like it. The end got better, but I would only rate it a 3. Have you read the previous series? You almost have to to get the full effect I guess. I haven't, so I spent a lot of time trying to understand and get to know previous characters. Im my opinion, MacAlister wrote poorly when her spin off series had so much to do with the original. You should be able to read one or the other.
Aisling series? Yes. I liked that series too. I saw that a lot of people didn't like the Silver Dragon series so I came in with no expectations, just wanted to read a book with a Dragon in it for a challenge. I ended up really liking it. I like her humor and the romance in the books. I wish there wasn't so much bumbling about but otherwise I enjoy her books. Although some of her stand alone books are not my favorite.
I thought that I would go in at least being able to understand the story. Instead, to me, she did a poor job explaining everything that happened in the Aisling series, and just thew the reader into the world that was built in the previous series. I might read Up in Smoke. I am still not sure....
You're right - you really need to read the Aisling series first. She does not to a review of prior situations that occurred or how certain people are important.

Changeless has such a sad cliff-hanger ending, it made me preorder book #3.

I really enjoyed Marianne Mancusi's book. It is about a woman from this current time period that gets sent back in time and ends up meeting and falling in love with Robin Hood. A very funny and charming story with plenty of romance and adventure thrown in!
