Alyssa (hawkstar) | 21 comments Gaaaahh, I've got to crash. I've been up for like, 26 hours straight already. NEED REST. Will pick up where I left off tomorrow.
G'night, and good luck to those of you still reading!

message 52: by Ivy (new)

Ivy (luvbug) I finished up Fantasy by Death by J. D. Robb around 10:30 last night...I then went to bed since I was falling asleep in my chair. I am up again and now looking for something else to read. Off to see what the top book on the pile is to read.

Started at page 146 since it was the book I was reading at the time the read-a-thon started. That makes a total of 210 pages so far.

Tiff (utbooklady) | 65 comments So after I finished my first book, I got 15 pages into my second book, then I literally went down for the count for 4 hours. Ugh! So much for being hard-core and staying up all night! LOL :)

Back to my second book!

message 61: by KrisT (new)

KrisT | 414 comments I had to sleep since I can't do caffeine. I have been reading for about an hour but it is raining out and it hitting the skylight is lulling me back asleep! zzzzzzzz

message 68: by Roseann (last edited Mar 27, 2010 05:53AM) (new)

Roseann | 185 comments I rested for about half an hour and then got a second wind. Finished one more--

MEMOIRS OF A BOOKBAT by Kathryn Lasky (215 pgs.)

Total so far at 5:38am PST--

4 books
949 pgs.

I keep forgetting to mention this--I always have either music or the tv running as background while I read and I decided to start watching movies either from books or about books. Just watched JULIE AND JULIA, 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD is next. Love Netflix streaming movies, it's like having a video store in your home!

Al doing well

I am on my second book but mbeen playing with daughter and reading slows me down as constantly demanding attention

message 70: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wldinnis) Some of you are doing great! I have just finished 5 hours of reading (had to sleep after two) but I now have to take my daughter to gymnastics. I have read 366 pages of one book. I am hoping to finish it while she is at gymnastics or during lunch. Then I have to bring her to a birthday party.

message 71: by MJ (new)

MJ | 5 comments Just finished my seconed book and I'm taking a 10 min break to go fix more coffe. I'm starting to get a little tired but so far so good.

message 72: by Rossy (new)

Rossy (naughtybookjunkie) | 65 comments Started reading last night and finished Touching Stars with 560 pages, then went into 356 pages in Line of Scrimmage. I thought i was going to be able to stay up longer but by 6am i needed my first nap. I'm now all refreshed and ready to continue with Sister's Choice, which is a big one with 560 pages.

Had to make sure my phone was on Do Not Disturb because i was awaken from my nap and would hate to be interrupted while reading. Does anyone know what i can drink to stay awake later when i start getting tired, besides coffee since i don't drink it?

Good going Kenjii! Take your break. I noticed if you take a nap when you're only a bit tired, you can sleep for for less than if you wait until your eyes can't stay open.

message 74: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore Well, all I know is I just woke up. I don't remember falling asleep, and can't recall any of what little I read of my second book :( So, I'll be going back to the beginning on book 2. My total is 1 book, 120pgs.

message 75: by Rossy (new)

Rossy (naughtybookjunkie) | 65 comments Nice going Michelle and Carolyn, keep going!!!!

message 76: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 21 comments It's halfway through and I'm about 50 pages into my 4th book. Granted, they've all been on the shorter side, but I'm still doing okay I think.

message 77: by Athira (last edited Mar 27, 2010 06:44AM) (new)

Athira (Reading on a Rainy Day) (readingonarainyday) You all are doing so good! I just finished last half of Sugar, now moving on to The Undomestic Goddess.

Completed: 1 book, 180 pages

message 78: by Jennifer C (new)

Jennifer C I just finished my first book. :( I had to sleep but now I have the rest of the day dedicated to reading so hopefully I will make up for lost time.

message 79: by KrisT (new)

KrisT | 414 comments I just finished my first book at 374 pages. I am not going to go back to my other book I started with for a bit. Eyes are sore and need big print!! ha

message 80: by Linda (new)

Linda I'm bad...I took a lil sleep breadk @ 12:30am & asked my hubby to wake me up as he was on his PS3 and I never woke up.

message 81: by BJ Rose (new)

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 93 comments Looks like the young ones stayed up all night! I got through almost 150 pages of White Lies, and the poor eyes wouldn't focus, so I switched to listening to Queste for a while, but fell asleep shortly after Septimus escaped from the Gathering before the Lockdown! So I gave up for the night and turned off the lights. I'm a little over halfway through Queste.

The morning coffee is starting to kick in, so I'm ready to get back to White Lies - Septimus will just have to cope on his own for a while!

message 82: by Debbie (last edited Mar 27, 2010 08:05AM) (new)

Debbie (db_debber) | 137 comments Had to take a break - kids had a thing, needed the taxi-mom this morning, but not before I finished the monthly challenge over at rrrc with

304 pages - The Bride Fair, and
97 minute audiobook - Stranded.

Time for caffeine and then maybe some Lisa Kleypas, or Janet Evanovich!?!?!?

Stacey's All Booked (staceysallbooked) Okay, I couldn't start last night cus of a scheduling conflict, but i got up early this morning, turned on my book light and now I have been reading for about 5 hours. I am more than half way through my first book (252 of 388 pages), Harlan Coben's Caught. What an excellent book to start a read-a-thon!! Well, I just wanted to wish everyone luck and to say how well you are all doing. May the reading continue!!

I was planning to read exactly that book. It's the only Janet Evanovich sitting on my shelf. I'm wondering and hoping - this is a standalone book right? Or is it part of a series?

Ah BJ, the beauty of an ereader. I was able to adjust the letters to my liking so that my eyes didn't hurt too much and i had a back light to keep me awake.

Will only give me a migrane. This include Mountain Dew, which makes me really sick.

Hot chocolate is not cutting it though, just warming me up.

It is part of a series but you should be fine reading it by it's self.

message 94: by Susan (new)

Susan Wish I could stay up all night like some of you. I take meds at bedtime that make me sleepy, so I read for as long as I could last night, and after doing a few chores around the house, will be back at it!

message 95: by KrisT (new)

KrisT | 414 comments Well had to take a quick shower to wake up, put in some laundry, eat breakfast, make a list for my hubby to go off and do,made some decaf coffee flavored french vanilla, finished putting the binding on a small quilt, gave myself a mini manicure and listened to one section of a book...whew!!!!

So after ANOTHER 3 hour break, I'm back to reading, and 158 pages down. So only 5.5 hrs of reading time, and 429 pages read so far. At least I'm not tired anymore! :)
